Soooooooo freaking good. I've been walking past this bakery for a few weeks now so happy to finally try. Did not disappoint. Menu offers more than just sweets.

I was looking for recommendations on Facebook for a cake artist and Shoshi from Getting Caked reached out. I am so glad she did and that I chose her to design my cake. I needed a cake that looked like a OC Bus. All I did was send her a few pictures of our buses and she replicated perfectly! Not only did it look like a bus, it was delicious! Everybody loved it! I have also used her for Cupcakes, they also were delicious! Prices are very reasonable. I have now used Getting Caked for my 50th Birthday cake and it turned out amazing! The cake looked just like the picture I sent and it was delicious! I added more pictures.

Cupcake toppers - black and white printouts!

I ordered and paid for cupcakes with toppers for baby shower. What I got... is something I could have done better at home and I don't bake! I paid $132 for 2 dozen cupcakes!!! Cupcakes were crumbling apart and black and white topper printouts were placed on a number of the cupcakes!!! See picture attached! I messaged Getting Caked with feedback on their mediocre cupcakes and they replied "do you have pictures?!" The audacity of asking for pictures after they know what they gave me!!!! I mentioned they should refund me my money and of course no reply!! How this place is in business is beyond me!

We desperately needed a Super Mario Bros. cake for my son's 7th birthday. The other local bakeries had nothing creative to offer and if they did, they wanted a week + to order it. I found Sugar Mama from friends on FaceBook and saw some of their creations. I contacted them, discussed some ideas and swapped pictures online until we found a great idea. They apparently had never made a "Super Mari"o cake before. Well, they can't say that anymore! Even though she had an event this weekend, they still were able to put together a cake that made my son's face light up when he saw it. Oh and by the way...tasty!!!!! Thanks again Shoshi! We'll be recommending you and using you again.

I have ordered a birthday cake and cupcakes on separate occasions. First cake was chocolate with buttercream frosting. Cake was absolutely delicious. It was moist (sorry had to use that word) and flavorful. She included q fresh smash cake. Second time I ordered from her I got red velvet cupcakes in the shape of 15. They were beautiful. Not only that, it was totally last minute. I think I contacted her the night before my daughter's birthday and she accommodated us. Wonderful baker, wonderful personality. She also makes delicious vegan desserts, and I'm not even a vegan and would totally reccomend them.

I sent Soshi the pic of the left cake for inspiration. She made the one on the right. Could not be more hideous.

If I could give Soshi zero stars, I would. Disorganized, sloppy, and expensive!!! The cake she made was horrendous and embarrassing. Three weeks (!) in advance, I asked Soshi to make a cake for my Mom's 70-th birthday. I even sent her a picture for inspiration. (Check out the pictures uploaded: the one on the left is the one I sent her, she made the one on the right.) She asked me if I want all the flowers. I said "as many as you can." She made three!!! The cake looked sad and hideous. It was not smoothed out and the decoration looked like it was done by a 4-year old. She asked $70!!!! And was paid $35 in advance as she requested. (money I have never seen again.) ANY vegan restaurant will charge you $60 for far bigger cake - and, more importantly, better looking. She said, well, I don't have a kitchen, can't make it like it is in the picture. Ok, then SAY SO BEFORE YOU TAKE MY MONEY!!!!! Be honest!!! But that was not enough. The day before I was supposed to pick the cake up (before I saw what it looked like), I asked where to pick it up. She gave me two street addresses. NO numbers. I can't stay in the middle of the street and wait for the cake! I asked again and again to be more specific. She would not reply. Eventually, the day of the pick up, she replied: "you can pick it up at this address - some odd address." 30 mins later, she changed the address again, giving me another phone number (not hers!) to text when I am ready to pick it up so that her "partner" can bring it. What?! Are you serious? My mom was supposed to celebrate her birthday in few hours and now you are sending me from place to place, from person to person to pick up the cake? Really? NEVER again will I order anything from her. She is a mess!!

Nonna has become our go to bakery, our sweet retreat, and one of our favorite local brunch spots. Now, they even have happy hour and, during the summer, dinner (Nonna Summer Nights)! And all of the food is amazing. Seriously, truly legit! We buy bread from there each week. No more "big box store" bread you freeze. They make their bread fresh daily. They only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients with no preservatives. It's nice to look at an ingredient list and not see a paragraph for bread (and be able to pronounce all the names!). And their cupcakes and sweets. Yo, seriously so good. And the thing is, because of the ingredients they use, we don't feel heavy or overly wired after eating cake or cupcakes from them. From other places you can tell they use preservatives, refined sugars, processed ingredients. But with Nonna, you can just taste the difference. We even had them make our special cake for our wedding! We recently tried their dinner (twice!) and it exceeded expectations. Now, mind you, all of their food has always been good but our experience was amazing. Their prix fixe menu was well put together, wine pairings on point, dessert was also delicious. Our favorite was the tiramisu! Also loved the spaghattini and casarecce pastas, and entrecôte di manzo, but everything was great. Their brunch is also great, you really can't go wrong on the menu. And I think we've gone through almost all of it! Finally, (if you've stayed with me this long!) the absolute best thing about Nonna for us is the TEAM. Hands down no question. The food is good, space is a comfortable neighborhood vibe, and all that. But truly the folks here are amazing humans. Always friendly, warm, and welcoming. If the management team is reading this, you all have a great group of people there! We will definitely be back (again and again and again) and you should too!

Located in the quaint Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach, street parking was plentiful right outside the restaurant. We came around noon on Saturday, and thankfully despite their busy brunch rush we were seated immediately. Even though all of their seating is outdoors, tables are shaded by overhanging canopy and just added to the cute southern Italian bistro vibes of the place. The menu had a solid selection of both brunch and lunch items - I loved the Burrata di Campagna, which was flavorful with just the right amount of tart from the heirloom tomatoes. For my main meal I had to go with the Casarecce - one of their pastas that's made fresh in house daily. The braided pasta was wonderfully textured and soaked up all the pesto sauce without being overly oily, a perfect meal for a hot summer day. We finished our meal with a Nutella Croissant, from their artisan bakery that also makes their bread fresh every day. Perhaps I am a little biased, but the laminated dough was perfectly light and flaky, encasing a very generous filling of hazelnut chocolate cream. Our check at the end of the meal even came with a custom drawn postcard by one of the Nonna Mercato service staff - another present to add on to what was already a gift of a meal!

Such a cute little cakery!…read more I placed an online order and despite being early to pick-up my order was ready right away! Customer service was great, the staff was really kind and made sure to let me know about a promo happening that day so I was able to redeem a free item - how cool! And also let me know about the rest of the month's promos as well. Parking is pretty easy, there is a shared lot with other business, but there were a couple spots open when I came. The items tasted fresh and well made. I got a 7 layer bar, a peanut butter bar, and a seasonal small Bundt cake. I only personally tried both bars, and enjoyed both. I will definitely be back to try the other flavors of things they have.

I love that they had interesting flavors and even seasonal flavors as well, such as hot cocoa. I tried their carrot and banana butterscotch with chocolate chip. Both were delicious but I liked the carrot one better. It even had raisins and pineapple in it I think. It was moist and the cream cheese frosting was yummy. The banana butterscotch one was good too but not as moist and the frosting was a little too sweet for my taste. But both were good. Besides bundt cakes of different sizes, they also had cookies and ice cream sandwiches. Lots more flavors too. I do want to come back and try their other flavors and cookies. I highly recommend if you are looking for al alternative Bundt cake spot in the area. Parking is easy since it is located in a strip mall and share a lot. It's a grab and go type of spot. Not really a place to sit and enjoy your treat.

It's a relatively small shop (as far as front-of-house -- it's seems like a lot of space is taken up by the kitchen and what I believe is the cake design meeting room). The employees aren't the most high energy, but they've always been kind, recognize my husband and I, and have even remembered my regular order a few times. My favorites are the almond croissant and the apple turnover, but their muffins and danishes are good too. We haven't bought a full size cake yet, but the mini cupcakes we've tried have been good! Moist cake and frosting with flavor, not just sugar. The fruit tarts and macarons are some of our favorite items to grab for dessert. A couple tips as regulars: * If you're wanting a specific pastry, come in within a couple hours of opening! The few times we've waited until after noon, they were out of our favorites. * They open at 8AM every day but are closed on Sundays and Mondays. This is why we always come on Saturdays or the occasional weekday morning.

There were a few customers before me, so I had time to look around. It was nice and cool inside which was great cause I was sweaty from that walk. I ended up getting a mini coconut cake. My only con was, I wanted to make small talk with my cashier about my little lunchtime adventure, but when I did, there was no feedback, which was a little disappointing. I felt that they just wanted to service me so I could go. When I go back, I hope that changes. I would love to be a regular, maybe they will call me "the lady from across the street". It would definitely make me want to come on a regular basis!
