We tried Gersi a week after they opened and we've been back at least 4 times since for dinner & brunch. This says A LOT for us since we space out going to restaurants usually 3-4 weeks apart. The food is pretty much perfect. We've tried the Limon pasta, the Ragu, Squid Ink Pasta, Baked Eggs Ragu, Pork Chop(OMG),Chicken Cutlet Parm sandwich, BLT with Eggs, French Toast, Watermelon Salad, & the true gem of a salad The Double Kale Ceasar which is delicious. The desserts we've tried, Tiramisu & Pana Cotta were both great as well! The kicker here is that although the food is really good, the prices are more than fair for Carroll Gardens and we hope they stay that way. Service can be pretty relaxed & timing between courses can be tightened up, but maybe that's just their style. It's great to see these guys grow & get better as the weeks go by!!! I want to go there right now! read more

Fantastic chicken parm big enough to last for two days and good reheated in the skillet. Nicely done.

Everything perfect. Food, customer service, ambiance, back patio, front seating, wine selection

Quaint little spot in a great section of old school Carol Gardens. Great music at just the right volume to put off a good vibe. Start off with the house Montepulciano, its amazing. Our food was incredible and the Desserts are out of this world. We sat at the bar and Emily took phenomenal care of us and was an absolute sweetheart. We'll be back read more

I do not want to come off as rude here. However, I felt as if this was the attitude I received from some staff here and I'll explain why. When I first arrived and tried to get a table, the hostesses came off cold and unfriendly. Once we were seated, it took a long time for us to get our table serviced just for water and a greeting. I want to mention too that I was struggling to read the menu because it was so dark. Once our bread arrived, it tasted old and was cold. I was hoping the entree would be redeeming. When the pasta arrived, it was undercooked and extremely salty. I like salt as much as the next person, but this was nearly inedible. I finally got the attention of our waiter and communicated how salty the dish was. His immediate response was "it is supposed to taste like that" and asked if we wanted it to go. I didn't want it at all but I agreed to his offer to remake it although I was visibly uncomfortable with the alternative and wasn't satisfied with the option. Our dish came back bland and without forks...couldn't grab the attention of anyone else either to get some. After a while, not once did he return to check if we were satisfied with the remake and had to grab the attention of another staff in order to just get the check because our waiter was suddenly MIA. We left feeling hungry, extremely unsatisfied and frustrated with the service. Had high hopes for an Italian restaurant here in New York but was disappointingly proven wrong. read more

Loved everything about this place! Cute ambiance, attentive servers, delicious food, generous portions of fresh pasta. We ordered from the specials menu and loved the kale gnocchi & orecchiette dishes. Tiramisu was amazing. Didn't have reservations and got seated right away on a Saturday night. read more

We were craving for Italian as our first post quarantine dine in and we loved it!! They have curbside tables but we made reservations & got seated in their lovely spacious backyard. We got sangrias (yum), their mushroom bruschetta, chicken parm, penne Ragu, grilled polenta (with prosciutto) - all super delicious!! Highly recommend for satisfying socially distant meal with great service read more

I highly recommend going to Gersi! It has a dark and cozy atmosphere on the inside and a lovely backyard garden area in the spring/summer. Absolutely delicious food and incredible prices. My favorite dish is the spaghetti al limone and the burrata appetizer is also super fresh...but I don't think you can go wrong with anything you get here. read more

My first visit to Gersi and definitely will not be the last. The food was amazing. So many items on the menu still to try. The only issue the deserts don't live up to the rest of the meal. Overall great service, no rush bro eat and get out, waiters were engaging. read more

Home made focaccia bread to start. Enough said. Romantic and delicious, outside seating is nice. CASH ONLY

Amazing. The food here is amazing. We were a group of 7 and tried a ton of appetizers and mains and wine and every single thing was just perfectly delicious. The staff was friendly, the service was great. Get the spaghetti a limone eggplant app...literally every dish was really done well. read more

Exceptional service and ever better food! If you go to or are in Brooklyn this place is a must visit. The homemade meatballs are to die for and my personal favorite! One of a kind taste! read more

Awful service. Bad attitude. Food is very basic. Nothing exciting about this place. Seating is in a bustop. What a dump.

Such a great find!!! I'm not an expert in Italian food but after going to Italy this past fall, I at least experienced what good Italian food tastes like. This place reminded me of that, the consistency of how the noodles were cooked, the flavors and freshness. It's also a really nice ambience with a cute backyard and very affordable. My friends and I tried a few items off the menu, including the lemon pasta, garlic bruschetta, fennel salad, tagliatelle Bolognese, and mussels. The only thing I didn't really care for was the fennel salad but I also don't like the black licorice taste of fennel. We also had some excellent Chianti. And actually my favorite part was the bread they give you in the beginning with some white bean spicy spread. I can't wait to go back!!! read more

Cute restaurant; small in the inside but there is a lot of seating outside. I had the spaghetti de limone and my husband had the roasted chicken with potatoes. The food was good but not amazing. We wanted to try their dessert but after they gave us the dessert menu, they took about 15 minutes to return to our table. After they came back we decided to just ask for the check and leave. Wish it hadn't ended that way. read more

My favorite place to go to brunch, everyone is so nice and helpful. The food is deliciousmy personal favorite is the French toast w. Fresh berries and maple syrup, just perfect and my boyfriend always gets eggs Benedict with a side of either bacon or cauliflower to share. We went there for dinner once a treat to ourselves since it is a bit far away but so worth it, I got the salmon and it was so yummy. My boyfriend got the pork chop which he also really liked. Additional plus because they start you off with their own bread and side of homemade beans. My boyfriend and I love the starters. Oh by the way cash only and go for the garden. read more

Gersi - Italian Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

OMG. What a lucky find. In the neighborhood looking at new apartments and came across this gem. The eggs ragu were phenomenal. I wish I had a bigger stomach to soak up all the sauce w bread! I'm def coming back here again! read more

This place is a wonderful neighborhood spot. The food is fresh and delicious, the staff is warm and accommodating to families with young children and they have a beautiful backyard and great cocktails. We always leave happy. read more

This is a neighborhood gem of a place. The ambiance is adorable, the food is amazing and the service is super friendly. We went with a hungry group of 7 and everything we ordered was delicious. There were some standouts, though. You MUST get the burrata, cacio e pepe, tagliatelle bolognese and save room for dessert. The tiramisu and the panna cotta were top notch. I don't mind cash only places when the food is this good and the prices are reasonable. Another plus: they take reservations. Our group will definitely be back. read more

I must say, I really had a good feeling about this place coming in. Everything seemed alright at first but it seemed like our waiter was very distracted while serving us. Didnt find out until later on when I wanted to add something to my order that his distraction was the waitress he was making out with. It was very unprofessional and at first I couldnt believe it. The staff was very nice but you definitely need to make sure that kind of behavior stays outside of the restaurant because its not fair to us and made us uncomfortable. read more

Best description of the food was "meh". I could have made better at home. It was loud and there was no cell signal in the restaurant. Tried to see the positives but it was a struggle? The bread was good, affordably priced read more

Very quaint little restaurant. I would recommend a reservation for Friday and the weekend. I have sat on the patio, adorable set up and lighting. Good assortment of wine and reasonably priced. The chicken parm and the rigatoni ragu are by far my favorite. I would love to branch out and try more dishes, but those two never disappoint. read more

Coming back from the Mets game we bailed at Atlantic Ave and stumbled on this gem on Court St. Sat us without a reservation and the service was top notch. My wife loved the Butternut Squash Soup and my liver pate was wonderful. The butterfly salmon and black ink pasta were superb. Our only regret was not sitting in the back cafe which was beautiful. The desserts could of been a bit better but did not detract from a great experience and a definite spot we would return to with friends and/or family. Already spread the word to my son who just moved into the neighborhood. read more

A great neighbourhood Italian place! Honestly, we were trying to get into Lucali, but they were booked for the night. Luckily, we stumbled onto this nice-looking restaurant on Court St. and got a seat at the bar during peak dinner hours. We had the spaghetti al limone, cacio e pepe, and snow pea pods with pancetta. They were all very good! If you like the spaghetti al limone at Lil Frankie's, you'll love it here too. Only possible thing to complain about was the crowdedness, but if anything, it added to the charm. read more

I choose to give up all other food and only eat the Gersi French toast. I don't even like French toast, but will live off of theirs. Divinity. It is that good. I had a pasta and ragu that was also incredibly delicious and we got one French toast for the table. It felt like blood sport to finish it off so we had to keep ordering it. So great. And don't get me started on 2 for 1 Bloody Mary time. Yummmm love it here. read more

cute place and good menu. Traditional Italian. Sit outside if you can, super cute patio!

Gersi is one of my favorite places to eat in Brooklyn. I absolutely love the atmosphere especially in the back garden. The service is fantastic. I highly recommend the cacio e pepe and every drink on the menu! read more

My go-to spot in the neighborhood. The restaurant itself is cozy, the outdoor patio is my favorite. Service is amazing, and lastly, the food is fantastic. I've had the cacio e pepe, squid ink linguini, eggplant rollatini, kale gnocchi--all outstanding. When I order delivery, I usually opt for the kale caesar w/ salmon--which is enormous, usually 2 meals. The foccacia that comes with each order is so tasty. Highly recommend this place! read more

Loved the ambience - tightly packed tables, votives on each, bustling action and patrons enjoying themselves. Cash only, very reasonable prices. The menu was good and food outstanding. Fabulous beet salad, branzino fish was great, pasta outstanding, and very good chianti. But here's what I didn't like -- the waiter. As a good Yelper, I checked in on Yelp when we got there. You get a free order of garlic knots by doing this. I showed the waiter my phone and he said he would place the garlic knot order when we placed our entire order. Really? OK. I felt like he rushed us throughout the meal. No sooner had the garlic knots arrived and then our salad was there. Halfway through the salad the main course arrived. This is a 5 star restaurant. Maybe we caught our server on a bad night. read more

First time tonight. Blew me away! Double kale Caesar salad very cheesy, mashed garlic toast out of this world, broccolirabe side order garnished with fresh anchovies, mussels in a nicely spiced thickish wine and tomato and garlic sauce, tiny roasted eggplant halves and absolutely first class Negronis. Good bread. Worth a detour! read more
