Best place Ever!! I wish I had found this place sooner! They were very honest which is hard to find in a mechanic.

How much does a smog check cost?

I have a 2007 BMW 650i that needs to have the fuel tank replaced , I already have the replacement tank can you guys do the labor?

Thank you for the opportunity, but we do not take cleint supplied parts.

Hi; I have a 2008 bmw 328i. I would like to replace the starter. I have a new starter but I need a technician to replace the old one. I live in Berkeley. Do you come and…

We do not do house calls, nor do we take cleint supplied parts. You should really rethink having a house call type mechanic as their skill level is very low..I would HIGHLY suggest having your vehicle towed to a reputable shop for diagnosis of the…

Do you work on M engines (s54) ? I have an 06 M Roadster with 99k miles. I believe it needs to have manual valve adjustment?

Absolutely, what day works best for you?

Would you be able to quote me on a camshaft sensor replacement for 2007 Audi A6?

We would be more than happy to, we would need either a license plate of VIN number to provide an accurate quote.

Hi. I have a gas cap actuator problem on a 2012 VW Tiguan. I have tried all the easy stuff without success. Is this something you could fix; and do you have an idea re price? Thanks.

We would need to spend some time diagnosing the issue. Qe would start at $225 per hour for diagnosis.

Hi Chris, what if I return those parts and let you do it? Can you quote me the cost? (2 speed sensors for front wheels and thermostat for 2012 SLK 250) Do you use genuine parts or parts made by 3rd party? Also pls advise how long it will take? Tks

We would first start with 1 to 2 hours of diagnosis before offering any pricing as we are not in any hurry to rush to a conclusion. Drop the car off and in a day or so we will calll you with what we have found. Too many shops are quick to offer some…

Hi there, I have a 2012 SLK 250 which needs both front wheel speed sensors and thermostat replaced. Got parts from dealer and wonder if you could put them on and charge me for labor. Let me know how much if you do. Tks. Jeff?

We do not take customer supplied parts regardless of their quality and I think that you will find that most GOOD local Bay Area shops are going to feel the same way. Why did you buy wheel speed sensors that don't go bad, did anyone diagnose your…

One Stop is my number one for the same reasons many others come here: honest, knowledgeable…read morecountermen, great pricing and the ability to get the parts. It's not in stock? Is two hours OK with you? Impossible-to-get stuff takes four days in my experience. To me this store is a refreshing change from those conceived by a room full of MBAs, and they can give solutions that don't interest corporate MBAs. I do know *one* chain store with the green logo that repeatedly impresses me with their competency and depth. But One Stop can give you choices and tell you how they're likely to turn out. They can get unusual stuff, maybe beat eBay prices and be reliable at the same time. Sure, image is important but if you peer over the counter back in the aisles you may be able to see considerably higher organization and cleanliness than in front. For bored-looking guys, I suspect that if you and I knew we would both be amazed at the dollar volume these low-key total professionals turn. It's almost always one or two phone calls away - because they know who to call. And those old things in the yellowed packaging? They don't make a lot of that stuff anymore, particularly the specialized tools and if you can use it, it's gold. I have to admit that I'm old school - my first real job was in a jobber like this one many decades ago. There aren't many treasures like this left. So relax; ask and listen to what they tell you and ask some more if you need to. You don't need to be perfect, if you want a "10" fuse maybe something about what kind of car it fits and what year would help you both succeed. They *are* friendly if you be, too, and they might even come alive if you ask nicely for their advice or recommendation that will be backed by mondo experience. If you have a car it is likely you'll be back - why not introduce yourself? And yes, I've stood at the counter for what seemed like forever while they took the time needed to solve someone else's problem, but I knew I'd get the same attention if I needed it. And while I was waiting I picked up a trade mag and learned about current tech on alternator overrun pulleys, another time found a tool I needed and they had the best price. No, I'm not still in the auto trade, just a geek with some old cars I'm very fond of. And anytime we undertake a repair on anything, isn't it always against all odds? That's why we're here on Yelp, right?

Shelves unstacked. No one at the counter. Waited around for service and then just left.read more

So I know that the guys at the auto parts counters usually get a bad rap. Typically , people want…read morethem to be master mechanics and know everything, and that's just not the case. Other times it's more legitimate concerns, often they're not helpful or their minimum wage. And it's just a job to get by. But not these two guys this morning. Fourth of july , i've got a flat tire , and it's simple enough to be plugged. I know they can't actually help me and touch my car liability issues and all that, but I'll be darned if these guys didn't help me me more than most aaa tow truck drivers. Yeah , they didn't change my tire , but they helped me with everything I needed to get it done quickly and checked up on me while I was doing it. It sucks to work holidays , but these guys were in a great mood and made everyone coming in that store smile and laugh. For real, if you read this, thank you, guys, I was able to get to work because of your help. And I appreciate it.

When I pointed out that the products didn't work for my car, instead of fixing their mistake, they tried to upsell me on a much more expensive product costing well over $100-$120, which I did not need. To make matters worse, when I requested a full refund back to my original payment method due to their error, they refused and only gave me a store gift card ($47.61). It is completely unfair that customers have to pay for the lack of knowledge and bad guidance of their store staff. Extremely disappointed with this store (4400 Broadway). The manager's name is George and he's very rude, I don't recommend this place for you to come.

They helped me find a suitable replacement battery for my 53 year old Honda N360. They have also helped me with working out a cooling system issue on a newer (all the way upgraded to 2006!) Civic I am getting used to. Straight forward, personable human beings that are both knowledgeable...a rarity it seems in the customer service sector (of which I am a part of and appreciate that it can be a drag sometimes). I drive out from Berkeley to deal with them, and support their business. Thank you folks, although I don't really want to see you again soon, I know you'll be there when one of my clunkers needs a little help. Right on.

I bought a battery & was charged $22 + tax on the receipt for the core (old battery). When I…read morebrought my old battery back, the store only refunded me $22 without the sales tax of $2.26. I returned to the store couples times, the staff didn't know what to do & the manager wasn't around. A female staff was very rude & held hostage my receipts, although I asked her to release the receipts back to me several times, she wouldn't & yelling at me that I only eligible for $22 refund, she refused to look at the amount of sales tax printed on the receipt. This is not only about the $2.26 sales tax on the core that wasn't refunded to me, but more about the store reaping off its customers for not having correctly working software in refunding the amount to its customers plus not very knowledgeable staff about the refund process & inapropriate female staff who treated store customer rudely & held hostage customer's receipts. The store & the corporate need to do some deep training to its staff & to correct its software to refund customer's money in full.
