Prem and Shaggy are great ! My car's been making a popping noise for a while. Brought it here and the team helped figure out what was going on. Had to replace my struts and the attachments because it was all worn out. They even showed me the old part and the new part together to compare since I was able to wait for the repair to get done. They did the repair in a timely matter but I also got lucky because it started getting busier. They also found my oil pan leaking and the adhesive or whatever that sealed it was completely wrong, so they cleaned it up completely and now it looks way better. l just got test driving my car and I can feel the difference with the new struts. Completely blown away by the service, quality and value at Dave's! I came in this morning for an oil change and tire rotation. Prem recommended front brake pad replacement as well. All the work was completed under two hours without an appointment. Not only that but Prem showed me how he made the brake pad replacements while explaining how brakes work, so cool! I would ABSOLUTELY NEVER RECOMMEND this "repair" shop !! I was forced to come here from Toyota Of Berkley in order to "get my car diagnosed and serviced" due to multiple misfires i had to come back AT LEAST 5 times they couldn't even find the problem, which is understandable considering they do half ass work and didn't even look at the car! Aside from their lack of skill within their own "specialty" they also severely lack customer service skills. I had the unfortunate event of working with both prem and his employee , who were oblivious, dismissive and above all else i'd say rude. The employee was speaking for his boss and when i was speaking or even making a valid point he'd cut me off and tell me he did his job and knows what he's doing. WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR STILL SHAKING AND NOT FIXED I ENDED UP NOTICING THEY DAMAGED THE INSIDE OF MY CAR , CRACKED MY INTERIOR IN MORE THAN ONE PLACE UNFORTUNATELY AND THEY HAD NO CURTESY TO EVEN INFORM ME OR OFFER ANY TYPE OF REIMBURSEMENT FOR DAMAGES THEY CAUSED. HE TOOK A ENTIRE WHOLE DAY TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS !!!! PREM ALSO SET A PICK UP DATE AND TIME AND EVEN CONFIRMED WITH ME THE DAY OF THAT ITS READY FOR PICK UP ONLY TO DRIVE 3 HOURS TO HEAR NOT ONLY WAS IT NOT READY BUT THEY HAD NOT EVEN STARTED THE JOB. PREM WAS WELL AWARE OF THE CARS CONDITION AND HIS SOLUTION WAS TO "drive it , it'll maybe go away if not just bring it back..........AGAIN" what kind of mechanical advice is that? in the most respectful way please rethink your career choices. they blamed it on my car being a V8, what kind of mechanic auto shop can't even tell a V6 from a V8? once i ENLIGHTENED THEM it was in fact not a V8 they said my car just had a "big faster engine" and im just feeling the "torque" WRONG MY REAL MECHANIC FOUND THE PROBLEM IN LESS THAN 20 MINUTES. LASTLY AND MORE SADLY he then tried to get me to be quiet with my concerns and feedback of all the money and time wasted at his shop doing absolutely nothing with $20 . the audacity of the man when i had to drive back to him 5 times from San Jose to Oakland ! What was $20 going to do? How was that fixing the problem? i'd say the better solution would be do your job and stop scamming people out of money AND time ! read more

I brought my car to Dave's, and while Prem was very cordial in conversation, the service I received told a different story. I paid $800 to have the engine light issue fixed, but the light came back on almost immediately. Over the course of this ordeal, I traveled from the South Bay to Oakland three times (a 60-mile trip each way), only for Prim to reset the engine light and tell me to come back next time. Despite my repeated visits, he refused to thoroughly recheck the issue. Unfortunately, my car still hasn't passed the smog check, and I am now facing mounting fines from the DMV. Prim's avoidant approach and unwillingness to address the issue properly left me feeling frustrated and misled. I feel compelled to warn others to be cautious of Prem's business practices. As a result of this unresolved situation, I will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. I don't take pleasure in writing negative reviews, but I hope this will help others avoid the experience I had. read more

Beware!!!! I went to Dave's auto so he can do my thermostat replacement. After leaving my car had a smell. 2 weeks later I called to inform him and he said its a new part it will wear off. The smell got worse. Come to find out I have massive oil leaks coming from my turbo hose line and a coolant leak. My car was just diagnosed at Mercedes-Benz Walnut Creek a month before and everything was fine. Dave's auto writes me a check for $580 for damage but my damage exceeds $3000. Dave's Auto is hanging up in my face and will not give me their insurance information so I can file a claim and get my car fixed properly at Mercedes. I will see yall in COURT!!!! read more

Daves did head gasket on my Subaru and did a good job. Three years later and it's running just fine. He also repaired my radiator water pump and thermostat, but recently had to replace thermostat but three years seems reasonable. I liked Dave and his mechanics do a good job.
