I just want to give a big thank you to the team at Pele's Muffler Works for the great job they did on my catalytic converters. Their customer service was top-notch--very friendly, helpful, and honest every step of the way. The prices were extremely fair, and it's clear they truly care about their customers rather than just making a quick buck. I'm really glad I took the time to read their reviews before going in, because now I see exactly why they're rated so highly. I'll definitely be recommending Pele's Muffler Works to anyone who needs quality work and genuine service! Pele even saved the 02 sensor to show me how burnt out they were. Truly a very honest person, please if you want to have any services done that they provide I truly would recommend Pele's! Outstanding honest, caring person that loves to see his customers happy over a buck! read more

Pele's Muffler Works - 02 sensor that was burnt out, Pele wanted to show me the condition myself...Great to see honest people out there still. Truly! - Auto Repair Near Me - Albany, California

My vroom-vroom's right exhaust required a quick minor fix, and Junior handled it promptly. Pele and his team are fantastic. Excellent workmanship! Thanks again, Junior! Helpful Tip about their location: They share the same compound as Golden Gate Collision, which has larger signage. Pele's shop is on the right end; you'll easily find it once you spot GG Collision. read more

"Your asking for too much" .. "Shut up!" : lagi atoe Totally disrespectful! How un-safe, & threatening. Manager put THE WRONG NUMBER WAS ON MY INVOICE sheet!! Causing me trouble: The California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Automotive Repair Smog Referee Specified a very specific catalytic converter part number to Pass Smog inspection. (Ripped of by another dealer) So, therefore, Confirming the CORRECT NUMBER was good Due diligence ALL IMPORTANT. But I was told, to my face, "Your asking for too much" .. "Shut up!" : lagi atoe Result: THE WRONG NUMBER WAS ON MY INVOICE sheet!! When I got home and called the Referee. Just disrespect. Adding insult to injury: -Manager: "We can take the catalysts converter off" and leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere, off the freeway? Really?. How un-safe, & threatening. Excellent, If you like being insulted? read more

What a great group of guys and got the job done quite quickly and perfectly. I highly recommend them.

All I can say is WOW ! Pele and their set up is amazing . The communication is their best trait in my book! They had parts that are hard to find for my Rv and omg just super impressed. Mechanics now a days like contractors can be bad but I have zero bad to say ! Use them ! Wow . read more

I was referred to Pele's Muffler Service by my mechanic. I drove to the location in Albany and was greeted by the owner, Pele. He listened to my description of the issue, and advised when he could look at my car. Pele is knowledgeable, warm and a good communicator. When I returned on the day agreed upon, Pele's grandson, Junior attended to my car. He explained the process to repair and properly space the distance between my right tire and exhaust pipe. He also quoted the price and time to complete. This young man was professional personable and my car was repaired in under an hour. The owner Pele's inspected the work and I was on my way as a new and satisfied customer I am pleased to support this family business as they build legacy. I recommend Pele' Muffler Service for your vehicle repairs. Also, there is a nice garden of flowers, and sweet potatoes and more along the fence area. Thank you, Ms. P. Harrison read more

These guys are fantastic. I came in for a cat shield on my Lexus CT200h and they got me in and out in 30 minutes while I waited. They charged me a lot less then my regular mechanic was going to charge. Highly recommended! read more

Officially kept my catalytic converter for over a year, which is a new record. Thanks Pele's!

I went there recently to solve the check engine light, that I knew related to the catalytic converters both needing to be changed. But, they instead replaced the sensors first, which were very dirty and worn and it solved the issue. The cost went from $3000 to $400 and I greatly appreciate them for solving that and saving a lot of money. Very nice family who run business! read more

Incredible service, professional job! Fast and on the spot installation of Cat Plate on my 2007 prius after some guys vandalized it. Junior came in special on Friday afternoon, when the shop was already closed for the weekend. He was so gracious and helpful, and was on his way out of town. He made time for my emergency and had me on the road in just minutes! I'm a loyal customer now, and recommend using them heartily! Thank you, Pele's! You are the best! read more

I have contacted many shops regarding a replacement of my catalytic converter, and this shop was the most communicative and competitive in pricing! They were so sweet regarding helping me and informing me, as my knowledge in the auto world is not very much (LOL). The process between using my insurance with them was also smooth! I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone who needs help with their car! read more

I was very satisfied from the moment I met Pele. He explained what was needed using his experience to explain what was needed. How long it would take to retrieve the parts needed. The parts arrived as promised and were installed in the time he quoted. Actually did not need as much as quoted once everything was apart. I would recommend Pele's Muffler Works for and exhaust needs. read more

Caliber Collision suggested this place after I had my stolen catalytic converter replaced. I was far from home, so I didn't have any preferred mechanics or muffler shops close by. I was able to get in the same day and they had me out within the hour. At first they said 15 minutes, but there was a rattling noise and they wouldn't stop until they got it right. Apparently a clamp was causing the problem. Still super fast and friendly service. I got to talking with one of the workers there and he had such high praise for his boss Pele. He said he was an upstanding and honest guy that pays his workers well and treats the community well. You don't hear that often these days. I should add he also drives a really cool truck! This is a small location is tucked into the warehouse district between the freeway and the railroad, near the waste management site. It's not pretty to look at but the work they do is amazing, high quality, and hella friendly. read more

I got my catalytic converter stolen on my 2014 Prius yesterday. Pele was extremely helpful, communicative, and made my experience really great. He got it replaced in a day, cage included to protect it now. Quality work!! 100% recommend coming here. read more

One of our cars had the catalytic converter stolen. They were able to get us in the day we called. Their price was by far better than other places we called to replace the catalytic converter and to put a cage on it. They're friendly, professional and efficient. We had used them before to put a cage on a different car. Family-owned business. They're wonderful. We would highly recommend them. This is our second time using them. We will go back to get a cage put on our other car. read more

So my father-in-law car is always parked outside. There has been other catalytic converter thefts in the neighborhood. Seems to be the Prius, any SUV and Accords. So when I tried to search for a existing catalytic converter shield, none were made for the Camry, because they are not a major target. Called Pele and they said either they fit a shield or make a cage with rebar, which was basically the same cost. They don't take appointments, so first come first serve. They are only open during the week day, so I had a Friday off and then tried to be the first one there. Since I was the first on there and was able to get out in about 40 minutes. I watched them install the shield, and if required they will bend the sheet metal as required and then rivet the shield in place. Thus is service is required, the rivets will need to be drilled out. They allowed a quick inspection and answered any questions. Very professional and courteous. There is an outdoor seating area with chairs and one umbrella. I ended up reading a book while I waited. Credit cards accepted so it was an easy transaction. Highly recommended read more

I've been working on a Volkswagen DoKa as a project for the past few years and just finished swapping out the engine. The Bus Lab over in Berkeley recommended that I check out Pele's, and I don't have enough nice things to say about them. Natashia was super knowledgeable and helped me figure out what I actually needed. Julian and Junior did an incredible job adding the new flex pipe, flanges, and a resonator. If you've got a project you're working on and looking for shop that will take the time to do the job right Pele's is exactly who you're looking for. read more

Extremely rude owner And terrible customer service Came in to get my catalytic converter fixed after someone tried to steal it $200 later the light came back on and they refused to solve the issue I would not recommend coming here at all, especially if you are a woman When I called to ask about rechecking the weld hr immediately was defensive. I made a point to thank the guys who actually did the work, I don't question their work at all. It is the owner who was beyond rude and unnecessarily so. Things go wrong so after a fix one would expect when the same issue arises a week later they would be willing to check their work but apparently not. No change in my opinion Be respectful and listen to people Not much to ask I rarely rate places but this was beyond bad Shame read more

Pele's installed a shield for my husband's car. Were in and out in under an hour thanks to their recommendation that we take the car in close to when they open as they get busier during the work day. They seem to be a family owned business with an uncle growing a small veggie garden on the side of the parking lot. :) Everyone was friendly and helpful when addressing all of our concerns. How honest of them to let us know my car didn't need a cover for the cat converter as it's very high up in the car and hard to access, making a low-target for thieves. read more

Right before and during shelter in place I had one car stolen twice and two catalytic converters stolen. I am by no means wealthy so these losses were devastating. I just used Pele's to get a shield for my new car and I left there feeling they were so kind, fast and efficient. I was on a work lunch break and from driving there and back it only took 40 minutes (I was waiting for them to finish another car.) I thank my friend Piero for recommending Pele's. As too many of us have fallen victim to catalytic converter thieves, I am so very appreciative of the family that runs Pele's. They saved me weeks if not even months of waiting for a back ordered replacement, as they had the OEM part in stock. Hallelujah!! I arranged a tow to the shop and even the tow truck guy saw I was taking my car to Pele and he had nothing but great things to say about the business. They were speedy in working on my car and installed the shield per my request. I didn't meet Pele myself but I communicated mostly with Lagi, who works remotely and met Natashia in person when I picked up my car. All wonderful people! You truly feel you can trust them and their intention is to genuinely help you. Don't waste your time shopping around, do yourself a favor and go straight to Pele's! read more

I couldn't agree more with everyone here. Long story short, my CAT was stolen off my Prius. My insurance didn't pay the whole amount of the estimate (a rant for another day). Pele was kind enough to work with me in this unfortunate situation and also add on a CAT shield. I would highly recommend Pele to any of my family and friends.
