They have delicious, juicy, crispy chicken sandwiches- my favorite is the Korean fried chicken sandwich for it's sweet and spicy sauce. Their chicken tender and fries are also great- you're able to get the tenders tossed in a sauce of your choosing, and to no ones surprise, I also got those tossed in the Korean sweet and spicy sauce. They also have miscellaneous apps on their menu. The only one I've tried so far is the warm Brussels sprouts Caesar salad, which I thought was a great spin on a classic. Went here with a friend for the first time last week. I'm not a fried chicken fan myself but after hearing so much about Germains I decided to give it a try. My favorite thing was definitely the ambiance, it's a very cute place, it feels nice to eat in here, chat with a friend and have a very pleasant time. It's the perfect place for a date, both romantic or with friends. The food was incredible, very flavorful and not at all greasy (which I was concerned about). I was very impressed by the flavors of the sandwich and had no idea a chicken sandwich could taste so good. I ordered the one with bacon jam (rooster deluxe) and my friend got the one with blue cheese (blue bird) with a side of the garlic Parmesan sauce. Brussel sprouts were 9/10 but Buffalo Bleu sandwich was 4/10. Fries were 2/10 and forgettable ($5 for a side), and there's no a La cart option for sandwiches (fries included in sandwich price). Customer Service: 5/5 I ordered takeout today from Germain's. I always get to the restaurant 5mins before my order is supposed to be ready just in case it comes out early. When I arrived the cashier said my order had just come out of the kitchen and wished me the best as I left. Food: 2/5 I ate 5 mins after pickup and all the food was warm. The brussel sprouts were awesome (9/10 MUST TRY)! The Caesar dressing on them was super mild so as to not overpower the dish and the sprouts themselves were cooked to perfection. I'd return to Germain's solely for this appetizer. The Buffalo Bleu Sandwich was edible but disappointing (4/10). The dressing coated the whole sandwich making the bun soggy and the entire sandwich fall apart. From the first bite both my hands were covered in sauce. The inside of the chicken was rubbery. It made for a messy affair that wasn't particularly yummy at all. The fries were meh (2/10). There was a Parmesan seasoning on them but it was hardly noticeable. Not worth the calories nor the price. Overall Germain's left a lot to be desired. It's messed up they force patrons to order a side with their sandwiches (default fries, no discount for no fries, or sub a side salad for $2 up-charge), especially since the fries aren't good. I'll be back when friends want to go, but I'll stick to the brussel sprouts. If not for those delicious morsels, I would've given Germain's a 2/5. read more

This place is supper cute, modern, and relax . It has a dog owner area to eat. Super hip decore and fantastic service. Now don't expect to be sited. It is a pick up your stuff at the counter and walk to your table. They will however bring your food to you. The combinations for the food to me sounded somewhat odd, but they work. One of my favorite spots in Gainesville! Their chicken does not leave you feeling greasy or gross after eating it like other fried places do. My personal favorites are the W.T.Flock (3 piece tenders) with the Korean bbq or hot honey sauce and the Good Feather Sandwich. The inside is so cute and they usually have a record playing. One of, if not the worst, chicken sandwiches my girlfriend and I have ever had. I took 3 bites tops and had to throw it in the trash as well as my girlfriend did. It was very disappointing as we heard good things and were excited about trying it for the first time. I don't understand the positive reviews. When you're craving a chicken sandwich you have a certain expectation of what the meat texture and appearance should be like. I absolutely love Germain's and I am so happy to see that they have expanded into a permanent location. I've been getting their sandwiches frequently at the Saturday Farmer's Market and I'm happy I can get them more than Saturdays. I love their sandwiches. I always get the Hot Honey one, but I've had the Parmesan and the deluxe with the bacon jam which are also great. The service is so friendly and everyone I've met have been a delight. They create such a fun atmosphere that makes the food taste better. It's so nice to support a local place from a local family, so I hope they continue to thrive. There is a saying about doing one thing and doing it well... well Germain's does fried chicken! The chicken is larger than my hand, fried to juicy perfection, and sandwiched between perfectly toasty brioche buns and just the right amount of special sauce. The toppings vary but when when you start with that solid of a base sandwich it just keeps getting better! I find one sandwich plenty filling but if you need a little something extra they also have jars of pickled veggies and ranch fries (envision thin fries tossed in ranch dressing seasoning) both are quite tasty with a passion fruit tea to wash it all down. We stopped by for lunch, and as a vegetarian I didn't expect they'd have a option for me at a store that specializes in chicken dishes--but luckily they had the burger with tofu for protein (which was delicious). I heard the other vegetarian option is the Brussel sprout salad (which my grandmother got) and it was also delicious! I plan on ordering this next time for myself :) The portions were good too--my mother got the nachos which she shared some with us since it's pretty big.
