I wanted to update. I had trouble with them and had to go I. multiple times after an insurance claim. a side body plane they replaced they did not plant the inside or even use a base rust preventative, so from the inside of the engine bay now that side panel is rusting. however the factory panel on the opposite side of the car, was painted correctly and guess what. no rust 15 years later. it's only been a couple years since they "fixed" my car. I had snap in tabs falling off and plastics not aligned. it was a nightmare. please stop taking your vehicles here and giving them your business. They will handle you the passive kindness then push you out the door way. I'm annoyed I went there and now my "freshly" painted panel will rust from the inside out. read more

The team here was very knowledgeable and kept me informed regularly throughout the repair process. I was thrilled when i picked up my car to find it thoroughly cleaned inside. What a bonus! Thank you read more

Terrible service. They did not want to deal with any of the mechanical issues on my car after an accident. I specifically emphasize what the mechanical issues were but the arrogant mechanic chose not to bother then lied about it when I picked the car up. Go to Rhorman instead, Quality is just as good without the lies and passive aggression. read more

I just had the absolute worst car repair experience of my life at Gerber Collision & Glass on Fairfield Ct. in Lafayette. I picked up my SUV after it had been at their shop for 1.5 months from being in a crash which damaged the front and back of my vehicle. During the time they had it, they quoted me (on a Friday) to put in an OEM windshield it would cost me $700 out of pocket. My insurance would only cover after market. They told me to take the weekend to think about it. I called back on Monday and told them to proceed. I then get a message that the price went up to $1,100 over the weekend and that would be my new cost. I wasn't happy about the $400 difference but agreed to pay as they told me the sensors in my windshield would not work with an aftermarket windshield. I finally picked up my SUV yesterday. As soon as I drove off the lot the sensor for my wiper fluid being low came on. I checked the fluid and it was full. I called the shop immediately and let them know there was an issue with the sensor. I was told by the GM to bring it in the next day and "they would take care of me". Took the vehicle in today "to be taken care of" and was told by the GM Ben Marsh that the sensor just went bad. It would cost $350 for the part plus labor. I told him that there had never been any issues with it prior to me leaving the car in their care 9/18. He told me I must have done something to it (during my 2 minute drive.) I asked if it was something that could've been jostled/broken during the windshield install as they had multiple issues trying to get the windshield to calibrate correctly and were constantly in that area. He basically dismissed me and told me I was trying to "pull a fast one." I've honestly never dealt with someone so condescending and lacking in customer service. We have used this shop for several repairs through the years but I wouldn't go back or recommend that anyone take their car there. So now I'm driving around in my freshly "repaired" vehicle with a bright orange sensor light blaring in my line of vision. Thanks a lot Gerber Collision for breaking my sensor and treating me disrespectfully. read more

Hands down the best customer service and experience when dealing with a messed up vehicle. I took in my 2020 CX5 to have some repair after a hit and run accident. John was so helpful and friendly. The parts for my vehicle were OEM parts, which made me happy since I have less than 10k on my car. Efficient and detailed when calling with updates about my vehicle and where they were in the process. Within one week I had my car back in tip top shape. Thanks John and the team at Gerber Collision & Glass! read more

"All were kind and polite. I hit a deer on 11/27/23 and immediately sent my truck to them. I got it back 1/16/24. It seems like a really long time. Some of the issues I had were... someone caused much additional damage to the rear end of my truck when they backed into something(probably $1500?). It was fixed without issue. This may have been the shop that they sent it to for transmission work. That shop sent my truck to me at 4 quarts low on transmission fluid and it wasn't shifting correctly. I think everyone that drove it likely knew that but I still had to prove it in the end. There was a rub mark on the passenger mirror from hitting something as well as some mysterious swirls in the hood. The rub mark was corrected but they refused to do anything with the hood. I'm not pleased with that. They said they didn't work on that. They didn't work on the back end or passenger mirror either and they were damaged on their watch. It wasn't like that when I turned it over to them. I feel that may truck may be been driven more than just for testing as the back seat was down folded down like they had multiple passengers." Update...My cooling fan , which was replaced, stopped working. Gerber took my truck back and worked thru the issue. They said it was a warranty issue from water getting into a connection. I'd really question if it was a corrosion issue from taking so long on the original repair sitting unplugged. Any way, it was fixed. Next issue was that I hadn't really tried the AC but the weather was warmer so I tried it and it would not cool at all. It seemed to me that they either forgot to put refrigerant back in or it had a leak. I looked thru the supplement that was sent to insurance and no refrigerant was noted anywhere. I asked Gerber about it and they said it wouldn't show up because insurance won't pay for refrigerant. Insurance will pay them to evacuate the system and put refrigerant back in. They also said that it worked fine when it left. That's okay, it's short time later and it's clearly not working. Keegan, the general manager, told me that they've already spent enough time and money on my truck and they wouldn't be helping me out. The lady at the front desk was great. She was good at her job even though it must be very tough. I was fortunate to have insurance let me take my truck to a great shop down the road who fixed me up quickly and correctly. They found no refrigerant to evacuate and no leaks. Added refrigerant and I think I'm good to go. Jeff Snethen at DeFouw Collision took very good care of me. (Also, I tried to email Jessica D. who responds to these reviews, but the link doesn't work.) read more

Update I am still finding more and more damage to my truck. Please excuse me for mentioning Bruce the service writer I am not sure why it says Bruce his name is Jeff. I have now have found the new headlights socket to broken and not able to hold a bulb in place. This whole experience has been horrible and now I am having to buy a whole new fixture or resubmit to my insurance. Jessica D some of my dash camera footage shows them using and driving my truck without my permission. Very unprofessional to say the least read more

Lafayette Indiana branch... Just the worst! trust me ...stay away! broken promises, missed deadlines, subpar work (to put it kindly), i was sent to Gerber by USAA in Jan 2023 and they still haven't gotten by truck correct. Their estimate process was a joke..agent winked at me and gave me a quote that she said would easily double by the end of the process, but Gerber lowballs so you cant go to reputable repair specialist. Their Tech put my bedliner in crooked (?) and covered over my bed tie downs, my driver seat came back ripped (but they said it came in that way) and the rubber trim pieces they installed with a "lifetime warranty" didn't last 2wks before they came undone. Gerber did say that they would re-repair, but now 3weeks have passed, no contact from them to me and when i called today for status update...have missed placed my file, no one at office knows my current status and the manager isnt available to discuss at this time. so what the hell...its been +4mnths ...why not a little bit longer again...trust me...if you have any choice...WHAT! SO! EVER!!!....STAY AWAY!!!!! read more

Used them for Insurance repair of fender that got hit. Scrap on plastic looked bad and other insurace was coviering so had repaired. Looked great when got it back. Told not to go through car wash for 7 days to let paint cure, etc.... Again, great work and fast, but within 45 days, same area got hit again. Instead of just scraping the plastic and paint, this time the paint just peeled off. Took it in and was told that since it did not have 90 days to cure that is the reason it was peeling and they would do nothing. Took back at a later date to talk with someone else as knew that was wrong and they siad they would let manager know. Total of 3 visits and 4 phone calls before they scheduled to look at it. By that time another spot of same bumper got hit and again that area was peeling.(well past the 90 days cure time LOL). Took it in today and manager stated they did not paint the bumber and it came that way. That paint is peeling off due it being plastic. Funny did not do it on other bumper that was replaced and did not do that on other side that was hit (just scratched teh paint). Kept telling me they did not paint it and that peeling was normal. After the 5th time of them telling me same thing and not listening to me that , that was not what happened to the other pumper or side, i got in my truck and drove away. Will never take anything to them again (and they have done other work for me) as even if they did not paint it and bought it that way. Paint does not just peel off the plastic. They should have warranty repaired it with the other vender. All this over $1200 repair and $600 of that was to recalibrate bumper sensors. read more

My vehicle was returned to me in fantastic shape and it is unreal how good a job was done. Looks better than the day I bought it! Everything about my experience was great and I will be sure to use this shop again in the future. My highest recommendations, especially to Chad. read more

Gerber Collision & Glass - Body Shops Near Me - Lafayette, Indiana

Sent my wife to get a estimate as soon as the gentlemen who was doing our estimate found out my wife had already obtained another estimate from another body shop he was very rude to my wife told her that they were way much more expensive that the other body shops got to his feet opened the door for my wife and told her to have a nice day...very rude not to mention I was going to have my car painted as well...but he didn't listen long enough to hear that.if this body shop goes under then you know why ..you should learn some manners I won't ever spend a dime there now or ever read more

I'm not sure when I have had a worse experience with a company. Ben Marsh, the manager, was condescending and rude. He gave me an estimate, then took my car apart and raised the estimate by $2000. It was a highly overpriced estimate for the kind of work that needed done. His staff didn't seem to be on the same page with him, as another employee kept wanting to offer me a better deal, which was never fully explained and Ben rejected outright anyway. Complete and total waste of my time. I will never use their services due to their shoddy business practices, and their absolutely terrible customer service. It's hard enough to deal with having a car out of service; Gerber made a difficult situation even more stressful by being dismissive, rude, uncooperative, antagonistic and confrontational. They clearly don't care about the customer. Took my car to another shop and they are fixing it for $3000 less. Gerber is the absolute worst. read more

Had my car taken there under pressure from the insurance company of the person that smashed into my car last summer. They did a terrible job and I could tell things were done as cheaply as possible, again, probably at the urging of the insurance company (Progressive). I will never agree to have them do work on a car I own in the future- Maaco would even probably do a better job. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Estimate was based on total incompetence. Lost two days of work due to the apparent lack of knowledge and experience of the "Estimator". He is clearly in the wrong line of work. After I called two days before to confirm all parts were there and arranged alternate transportation for 4 days, they totally dropped the ball. I called again on the day of drop off and they told me everything was "as scheduled". I was prepared to drop off the vehicle feeling pretty good about finally getting things fixed but they said one part was missing but would be there in the morning. Around noon the next day I got a voicemail saying they didn't have all the parts. I called them back and I was told they ordered all the wrong parts and ordering new parts would take 4 weeks and would cost twice the original estimate. $1,200 went to $2,400 and they didn't seem to care why that was frustrating to me. I had another estimate from a highly rated competitor of $1,298 but I went with the lower bid. HUGE MISTAKE! read more

THIS HAPPENED A FEW YEARS AGO. SAME OWNERS, DIFFERENT NAME. My vehicle was brought into twin city collision on September 2nd. They stated that because I was geico customer that my parts where ordered on the 2nd and be in the next day. Which is when twin city collision would start working on my vehicle. When asked when the car would be completed they stated no later than sept 10. They also informed me that because I was a geico client that I was moved to the top of the list for my vehicle to be repaired. They knew I didn't have rental car coverage and that it was imperative that the parts be available ASAP or I was not going to leave my vehicle until the parts were available. Greg, twin city collision, insisted the parts are available and they would be in on Thursday, sept 3rd. I called twin city collision on Friday September 4th at 1113am . I first spoke with the receptionist and asked when my vehicle was going to be ready and her response was Sept 18. I also called to verify the parts were in fact at the body shop. I stated what SEPT 18, I was told it would be ready next week. She stated hold on let me transfer you to Gregg. I stated why was I told by the receptionist that the car wouldn't be ready until sept 18. Gregg stated that was the timeframe for a non geico customers, but since I was a geico customer my vehicle would be ready as we discussed, no later than sept 10. Then I asked if the parts were all at twin city collision. Gregg stated one part was not on the morning truck but it would be on the 330 truck. This is where the issue starts. I get a call on Tuesday sept 8th, almost a week since I brought my vehicle in, that the part is on back order. They weren't honest with me. Twin city collision knew the part was placed on back order Thursday September 3rd. This I know for a fact because I called honda parts department in fishers, indiana and spoke with Chris, parts wholesale manager, which is whom twin city collision purchases their parts. Twin city collisions dishonesty in unacceptable and should be dealt with accordingly. This is unacceptable and caused me to have a rental car for an additional week since they were dishonest about the part being on back order. Being told that the part was on back order almost a week after the part was ordered is unacceptable, when they actually knew this fact the previous week and continued to lie and tell me it would be in a later delivery. read more

I had a fantastic experience this time I took my SUV for repairs. We did start with a estimate that had to be revised and the initial ride was a spot bumpy but Gerber handled the process very professionally. I was extremely pleased with their work on the vehicle and the professional way the handled the customer interactions and all. A very good place to take your vehicle for repairs. Highly recommend!! read more

After searching to find the perfect auto body shop to use for days - Gerber Collision & Glass was recommended to me by a friend who took her vehicle there two weeks prior. I am so happy with the decision I made - from the two receptionists I spoke with to the estimator, John, I couldn't be more satisfied with the customer service and the work they did. They were there for me and were always available to answer any questions I had and they answered honestly and were very thorough. Also, I didn't really have to do anything as they did the work for me! Meaning, they emailed the insurance company about the extra costs leaving me to walk out of there without having to worry about anything else. On the plus side, they call every Tuesday and Thursday while the car is in the shop to let you know what's going on. I loved that Enterprise was on site - made it so much easier for me! I will definitely refer Gerber Collision and Glass to anyone who needs their car repaired. read more
