Review Visit: June 24th, 2015 They say, "pizza makes the world go around". Geo's does a good job helping it spin... 8 slices at a time. It is no lie; I am a huge pizza lover. Circular. Cut into slices. Endless arrangement of toppings. I will try almost any and all pizzas. So, it's only natural that I try the small pizzerias throughout the world. Geo's Pizza was widely regarded as great pizza among some of my coworkers and friends. After some very little arm twisting, I finally made my way there. I brought along my friend who had it before and wanted to come with. We walk in and snag a seat. It wasn't too busy, so we got to pick wherever we wanted to sit. We settled down on a table and cracked open the menus. Geo's is famous for their cheesy dough nuggets. Without much more arm twisting, my friend convinced me that we should order some. After looking over the menu, we settled on the cheesy dough nuggets and a barbeque chicken pizza. The service was prompt and never overbearing or missing. The waiter checked in on us here and there, without being too overbearing or too absent. The food took a normal time to come out. About 15 minutes or so. As soon as the pizza and nuggets hit the table, we pounced on it without hesitation. The nuggets were little nuggets of deliciousness. The barbeque chicken pizza was a delight. It was a bit weak on flavor compared to other ones that I have had, but I am not a pizza snob and enjoy almost all pizza equally. Did Geo's live up to the hype? Yes, for the most part. Despite the pizza lacking a bit in flavor, it was still delicious and a good lunch with a friend. Sometimes the company is just as good, if not better than the meal. read more

My wife and I did carry out, so I can't speak to much of the interior of the restaurant. I can say it looked very clean. We had the buffalo chicken pizza and chicken Alfredo. The chicken Alfredo came with a salad and garlic bread. The salad was not the greatest quality and the serving size was way too small. The garlic bread was decent but lacked that strong garlic flavor we're after. As for the other food... it was really good! The pizza seemed a little small for a 16". The Alfredo could have used more Parmesan flavor. The service was pleasant! I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Metamora Illinois is one of those classical American sleepy little towns. The people are laid back. They are lucky to have Geo's! We enjoyed the cheesy garlic bread! Tasty and cheesy, just the way I like it. Had the pan style classic combo. Wow! The crust was crispy(difficult with a pan pizza), sauce was rich and flavorful, lots of cheese, and enough meat to satisfy any appetite! Price is reasonable, good service, clean dining room. The only drawback was (let me think) none! GEO'S us no exception. This place is not busy, which surprises me, because it is really good! read more

Granted we were the only family in the restaurant but service was good and food came out pretty quick. It was the first time for my in-laws coming here. Despite being advised that the thin crust is dry, we all felt it was great. The Gino's special was to our liking, cheese nuggets were great and my son ordered a Little Sicily calzone, also delicious. Normally we enjoy going here for the Wednesday night pizza buffet. We went last night and was very disappointed. We arrived about 6:30, they serve til 8. There were about 10 people there with a few of them leaving. We ordered the buffet as usual. The salad bar was very empty. Half of the containers were empty. The pizza buffet was just as barren. There were 3 partial calzones and about 10 pieces of pizza that looked old. Another patron asked them if they were going to make more pizza. They did not even realize that it was empty. The manager then came out to look at it. He started to throw pizzas through the oven. The worst part of the experience was watching the employees eating in the kitchen. When I pointed it out to the manager he stated that they were harder to manage than his 2 year old. I replied that it is against health department code as my wife is certified in food handling safety. He stated that he to was certified but cant always see them. Here is my suggestion. Train your employees and make them follow the rules. We went to leave and the delivery driver er had me blocked in. I went in to speak with the manager to have him move the truck. The manager came back out after about 5 minutes stating that he could not find the driver but would go back in and look again. About a minute later the driver and a female, I assume employee, came from behind the building where it was very dark. I can only imagine what was going on. She female stated that he was only there for a few minutes. I beg to differ. She probably only had a few minutes to do whatever they were doing behind the building in the dark. read more

Wasn't expecting anything around in the middle of nowhere, here in Metamora, IL. However, good 'ol Yelp proved me wrong and we found Geo's. A quaint little pizza place in a quaint little town.... and it was good! Garlic cheese bread was perfect and we ordered the Classic Combo which was delicious. We live out of town so no delivery. After getting home with our medium nuggets with cheese and medium primo we were very dissatisfied. Both were burnt. The pizza more than the nuggets. The pizza had very few items on it. Had to search for sausage and very few vegetables. I called in and the only response was they would put a note in so the next time the cook would know we don't like our pizza well done. Geo's is one of two pizza places I can get my best friend to eat at. I think the food here is pretty good. I really like the dough nuggets. I would much rather eat those than the pizza. The pizza is only a step up from Monical's pizza (and I am not fan of them). The service has never been great. Somehow I always get the inattentive waitress section. I look to see other table's with the friendly, helpful waitress. I always order tea to drink. This last visit, the waitress brought me the container that holds the sweeteners. I picked up a packet and it was wet. The whole container had liquid at the bottle. It would not have been so bad if the waitress did not disappear for a while. Our pizza was brought out by someone else and we were offered refills by another waitress. The waitress showed up at the end to do the "please leave me a tip" interaction. For some reason, every time we go to pay no one is at the register. There will be people in the back looking at us but no one acknowledges us right away. Whoever shows up usually says "Sorry for the wait" however it seems meaningless since they stared us for a few minutes before showing up. read more

What happened to Geo's? Have eaten here so many times over the past three years we've lost count. It was always great pizza, but something has changed. Last two times we ordered delivery it was awful. And last night was the worst. Ordered cheese pizza thin crust and a deep dish deluxe. Both pizzas had a ridiculous level of grease. I bent a slice of the cheese thin crust in half and I had oil running down my arm. My wife and I felt ill after eating the pizzas and this is the first time ever we've thrown away pizza leftovers. Why does a pizza require so much oil? It doesn't. The deep dish deluxe had cheap ingredients like the rabbit turd sausage similar to the way Dominos used to. Not sure what changed, but Geo's pizza has really gone down hill. Won't be ordering here again. read more

Love love love this pizza!! I do recommend having them add extra sauce because when I to forget to ask for extra it comes out with barely enough to notice it's there. I'm a sauce lover so it's merely my preference. The chicken and mushroom calzone is amazing, especially if you get a side of bbq sauce to dip it in. Having recently moved to the area, we decided to try Geo's in Metamora Illinois. We were greeted by a friendly staff member and told to sit where we wanted. large tv's showed the current sports game Du'jour. service was fast and the choices many off a great menu. The cheese nuggets could have been a meal, the size of a small pizza and very delicious. Had we known, that would have been plenty but the food kept coming, the pizza, thin crust extra large was really good. We had the supreme. Prices are reasonable and we will be back! read more

We were in visiting family and looked up places that used restaurant.com. Stopped in for pizza. The first thing that told me we were in for a good meal was the smell. Anyone who has been to a good pizza place knows that smell or pizza crust, garlic... mmm. We ordered three of their mini gourmet pizzas. We had the roasted garlic, bbq chicken, and the spinach, mushroom, and chicken pizzas. Service was pretty quick and the pizza was really good. The crust was flaky (we got pan pizzas) and the toppings were great. I would suggest if you are going in with another person opt for several mini pizzas so you can try several. Then refused to refund my moneyand then made my pizza using no gloves. When I called it out he said in 7 years ive never used gloves! Sometimes the pizza is really good crispy and perfect and other times it's soggy and seems undercooked. But I can't say that it's consistent. And it is a little on the pricey side. We recently ordered a delivery from them on the 19th of December. To our shock we learned from our children,who were home for the delivery, that the driver brought to their attention that there was no tip. He asked them if they wanted to tip him as it was not included on the order online. Our kids scrambled to find some change around the home as he stayed on porch waiting for the tip. It was an honest mistake and error when we ordered for the kids. But for the driver to actually bring it to their attention when he delivered; horrible. We go about every week for carry-out. We live between Washington and East Peoria and are glad to make the trip. The pizza is big enough that we have pizza for three or four days. Okay so we showed up at 8pm. The sign on the door says 10pm so you would think we were fine. First of all no one comes to wait on us for about 10 minutes (even though everyone in the kitchen looked right at us as we walked in) then the waitress comes over and says "oh I didn't see you" My daughter orders the buffet, waitress says we wont be putting any new food out just whats there as it ends at 8. My daughter says that's fine. I ordered Geo nuggets "for starters" and a Garlic chicken pizza. Here is why they get two stars...the pizza is not bad. So for the bad stuff...Pizza came before the nuggets and when she asked can I get you anything else I knew she forgot the nuggets but I asked for them anyway. they did eventually come out. They broke the salad bar down while my daughter was still eating. To be fair they did ask her if it was okay but what would she say. The waitress staff was putting all the chairs up on the tables and they were mopping the floor in front of the buffet. We got up and served ourselves for refills as we were never asked if we wanted anymore. It was obvious they wanted us to leave. Could not have been a more uncomfortable dinner. Geo's pan pizza is really good - similar to pizza hut but not as greasy. We love the new coupons that are good for online orders only. Typically use the one for any 2 mediums for $20. So far the pizzas have always been ready and waiting for us when we get there. read more
