Was back in town and got a family pleaser (14" sausage, pepperoni, mushroom thin crust with salad and a liter of Pepsi). It was delicious as always, and their signature French dressing is to die for (they sell bottles of the dressing!). I'll start by saying that I hosted my son's first birthday party here last year, and it was great -- no issues whatsoever. I reserved a private room for 15 people, and they seated us in the private area up front near the restrooms, which was perfect. This year, however, was a different story. I'm fairly confident I spoke with the same man when scheduling our party this time. I asked if we could reserve the same room up front, but he said no because 15 people wouldn't generate enough revenue. Last year, I spent around $250 for my son's party, but he explained that the minimum spend to reserve that room had increased to $350. He said I could instead reserve the back room for $250. I told him that as long as it was private, I didn't mind which room we used -- I'd spend whatever amount was required. We just didn't want anyone seated near us since we knew having a group of kids would likely mean some noise. He also said that if we didn't meet the minimum with dine-in orders, we could purchase gift cards or pizzas to go, which I thought was perfect. I even offered to pay upfront over the phone, but he said that wasn't necessary. On the day of the party, Saturday, November 8, 2025, we were placed in the open room in the back of the restaurant for a minimum spend amount of $250. Our waitress was wonderful -- very friendly, attentive, and did a fantastic job. The issue was with the manager, who I'm almost certain was the same person I spoke to on the phone. After we placed our initial order, he came to the entryway of our room and, in front of our guests and nearby customers, commented on how little we had ordered. He said, "I don't know who you spoke to on the phone, but you can't have this private room back here and spend so little." I walked up to him and explained that we were told we could purchase gift cards or pizzas to go to meet the minimum. He said "okay," but the situation could have been handled much more tactfully. It was very unprofessional. A professional manager would have asked to speak with me privately rather than addressing me in front of others. It was embarrassing and completely unacceptable. We will not be returning. As for the waitress, I left her a $45 tip -- she was excellent, and I sincerely hope she doesn't have to share it with anyone, as she was the only one assisting us. read more

I ate here recently for the first time, and overall, my experience was pretty good. The waitress was very attentive and quick, even though she refilled my sweet tea with regular tea, but no biggie. I ordered a thin crust deluxe, and I very much enjoyed it. The crust was very crisp and snapped like a cracker. I also got a small garden salad, which was fine, although I hate when they squeeze salads into tiny bowls, and this was the case. I enjoyed the tart salad dressing though. This pizza is one of my favorite pizza places ever!! The sauce is so delicious. The restaurant itself is clean and has a laid back atmosphere. The staff was friendly but at times got to busy they forget to check on us. The waitress did not ask us for a refill on our drinks, she took forever to get our check when we were done so we got up and got it ourselves and asked for to go boxes. When we went they were super busy. The salad was very fresh and had a good taste. We got our food fast and everything tasted amazing as always. They also had a highchair for my baby to sit in which was very convenient and made it easier for me. read more

I grew up in Peoria and Monical's was a solid staple of my existence. My entire private high school would descend on them after every football game or just because it was the weekend. Not only was it a warm and welcoming environment, my best pizza memories were literally formed based on that delicate thin crispy crust, light pizza sauce (not to distract from the deliciousness of those actual fresh ingredients), and best homemade sausage I've ever tasted still to this day. My childhood best friend begs for Monical's gift card because it's still just, 'that good'. Tried the Delight which is like the toppings of a Combination Pizza. The crust is thin and foldable. It has lots of vegetables loaded which makes the crust a little wet but it's still tasty. The sausage has a lot of seasoning and spices which gives a good flavor kick. The onions give a nice crunch and I like that there are loads of diced mushrooms on it. The way they slice it allows people to pick and try different pizza varieties and is good for large crowds. This is a good place for those who prefer more toppings and thin crust. read more

This place will never get my business. Omicron Covid is raging and these folks are idiots. We came in around 5:30. The entry was crowed with people waiting for to go orders - few wearing masks. A sign said to wait to be seated. We were with our elderly parents and asked if we could be seated. But we're told that it would be 20 minutes due to a shortage of waitstaff. I explained that we understood that there would be a delay and that that was ok but we wanted to our folks out of the busy entry and into a booth. We had no problem waiting to order. Honestly my favorite pizza in the country. Not sure if I'm just nostalgic, but I've moved to a few different major cities in the country and this is still my favorite pizza. I like the Supreme or just the Sausage pizza. I also have to get the breadsticks with nacho cheese everytime I come. Atmosphere isn't exactly the highlight, so I would suggest ordering your food to go. This is the pizza place to go to, if you like thin pizza (not deep dish) with lots of fresh toppings. I am in awe, and quite disappointed in you folks as the place is an institution, much like Lou Malnati's is up in Chicago! *Backlog* The Fiancé is from Peoria (we live in California and it's my first visit) and during our weeklong visit he insisted that we go eat dinner at Monical's. Pizza, heck yeah! Fiancé and his sister were raving either about a sauce or cheesy bread. Truthfully, I don't remember. I couldn't get over the family that was next to us letting their small child 4-5 years old run amuck! The child screamed. dropped food on the floor, and was even interrupting other patrons! Where was staff during all this? Staff seemed pretty attentive when they were present but since it's a somewhat busy place, seeing our waitress was few and far between. Back to pizza talk... When someone pumps of the hype of something, in this case pizza. I get excited and anxious thinking of potential taste bud nirvana. In this case, all I experienced was typical pizza. I felt let down. I went for some pizza during the dinner rush on a Friday night. The place was packed! I put my order in and waited 10 minutes as more and more people filter in and out. 20 minutes pass and I'm still waiting... I asked them to check on my pizza for me and one girl disappeared around the corner and came back looking nervous, she told me that they hadn't even started making my pizza yet. I asked how long it was going to take and she told me 20 minutes. I was pretty upset but figured that I would get happier when my stomach is full of pizza. I had waited almost an hour when I received my pizza. I ate a few slices and then lost my appetite. Not sure if they just frantically threw dough and sausage and didn't put much effort into it but it tasted about as bad as Little Caesar's. I won't return to Monical's ever again. I ate here while visiting Peoria for a friend's recent wedding. My local friends had really hyped the place, and I was not disappointed. We had the thin crust Happy Heart pizza. The crust was delicious, very crispy and flavorful. I think next time I'd get a different group of toppings, but all of the toppings were very fresh and flavorful. The staff is also very friendly, and they all have smiles on their faces. We had a salad with the pizza. I had the french dressing. The legendary french dressing wasn't a life changer for me, but it was pretty tasty, and the salad was fresh. If I'm ever back in Peoria, I'll be sure to stop into Monical's Pizza again. read more

Crowded, but good! We came with friends that we hadn't seen in a while. There was a party wrapping up in the back room, so even though there were a dozen people waiting in the "foyer" there were still 4 open tables. Which was a bit odd. But the food rose to the usual Monical's specifications. WIth one exception; it turns out if you load a pizza full of vegetables, it doesn't turn out with the same crispy crust. Still, it was good. We placed our order 2 hours ago and have been waiting for an hour at curb side pickup. We were told 35 minutes ago that one of our pizzas was forgotten and that it would be ready in 10 minutes. You can get much better pizza and customer service in the Peoria area. As a first time customer, I was pretty taken back by how bland the pizza was and how subpar the salad was. The salad is 95% crappy iceberg lettuce and there was just no flavor to my pizza as all. Last but not least, the manager in training (said so on her tag) was no very polite. I walked in nice and smiley and I greeted the people at the counter and everyone except for her greeted me while she turned, walked away from the counter to shuffle and stapled papers together and continued to be busy and then finally greeted me. My friend accidentally ordered at the wrong monicals and when we arrived, the assistant manager the manager told us, we didn't order there, but he took our order immediately, canceled at the other place for us, gave us a discount AND they delivered it to us in the parking lot when it was done early, and they definitely didn't have to do that. I love Monical's Pizza. Always have and probably always will! I love how their crust is so thin and crispy! The last time I was here, I ordered a pizza with gluten free crust and gluten free sauce. While it definitely was not as yummy as the original, it was a great option for gluten free people. The crust is still thin and crispy! Their salad is always delicious. I love their ranch dressing. This is a review of a delivery order which was easy to order and quick to be delivered but the goodness stopped there! Their thin crust is a little too cracker-like for me so we decided to try the pan crust. It was much thicker than a Pizza Hut pan style crust and it seemed like they used the same amount of toppings on it that they would on a thin crust so it was pretty skimpy. The wings were ordered were downright inedible. Totally under cooked, they weren't raw but the skin had tons of slimy fat underneath and was mushy. So little sauce, there was no detectable buffalo flavor. They had a weird freezer burnt flavor too. Total waste of money. Although I loved their online ordering and thought the delivery tracker was really cool (plus it came way faster than estimated), all of that can't make up for mediocre to really bad food. read more
