Holy cow! Peoria of all places! None of us had a clue how good this would be. Setup a table for my birthday dinner, randomly picked Saffron seeing the sushi in photos. Noticed a large corner space downtown, walked in and quickly had our reserved corner table setup, this is the place for all places. Dark and rich, snobby and cozy, over the top and addicting all in one setting, I'm a big fan of the dark academia gothic atmosphere. Whatever it's called it is working. So many people here too, obviously word has gotten around in the last two years, but wasn't noisy or awkward during our time. We tried some drinks right away, thankful the prices aren't silly and got us doing a second round. The steaks, well those prices were silly. We avoided half the menu noticing the ounces and dollars didn't correlate to typical restaurants we familiar. Probably a smart decision given our prowess with a Target, seafood Pasta, the burger, and a massive sushi roll became our mains. But hold on, those drinks! Beyond phenomenal, Chai Me to the Moon, happiness in cocktail form, my spicy marg, hilariously the Buffalo Wild Wings Mango Habanera Marg with a bachelors. Yet that Eitlewidl, o my, sweet tingly taste buds, whatever the bar tender did that first drink made a simple ginger, St Germaine, and gin mix so magnificent we dreamed about it the rest of the weekend. Oddly my other friend getting his own in the second round found it differently made. Oh well, the sushi had spectacular flavor. Sides were typical expensive and small, corn Brulee was fun! Steak tartar wildly amazin. We had no shame ordering excessive plates while smashing through bread rolls. Took home five boxes, convinced them to add a sixth doing bread pudding. And again, the charm, magic, chef skills from Eleventh heaven pulled it all together for that dessert. I'm quite quick to throw a one star for below expectations, overpriced, and difficult places but I wish I could nominate Saffron for a rare sixth star!

Had a very nice lunch. Lovely decor, and friendly staff! Tried their crunchy roll, French onion soup and short rib sandwich with duck fat fries. All dishes hit home! I left my credit card at the table and our wonderful host called me to let me know! Thank you so much Saffron social! Next time we are in town we are definitely coming back

Saffron Social is a great new addition to Peoria. It brings more life and upscale dining to downtown. Parking was easy as there was plenty of street parking however there are also parking garages nearby. I ordered the fish and chips and upgraded to the duck fat fries. Highly recommend. Others at the table enjoyed the pad thai (very tasty but not spicy at all), the 6oz steak (very flavorful and wonderfully cooked), orechetti bolognese (also tasty), and the wagyu (fabulous). Portions for the entrees (not steaks) were very large and most had leftovers. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and service was lovely.

If I can give this place 0 stars I would! The fact that I wanted to reheat some leftovers and found a BLACK LONG HAIR in my sushi is INSANE. I lost my appetite! I don't have black hair, I have blonde hair and it's short. I would much rather pack my own food in restaurant than have it be "sent in the back." I'm quite grossed out.

The food was good, pork chop was undercooked but they put it back on and took it off the bill for us. They even offered us a free dessert, which was nice. Our server wasn't super attentive but it was busy. The lighting was nice, pretty peaceful.

Ordered seafood pasta with no mussels, to go. Got home and saw that I got a very spicy pasta dish with mussels and no scallops. No sauce on the pasta. Also got crab tots. Very spicy. Never again!

This was definitely a amazing experience dinner more than a every day thing because meals were pricey! Always wanted to try waygu beef steak and it was buttery and delicious! My friends duck fries were delicious and fatty! The crab tots were delicious! Bone marrow I would never get again it wasn't gamey but it was a acquired taste I would never do again its fatty but has a odd flavor. My cherry glazed salmon was good but could have been better! The French onion soup was great! I had the black heart havana drink was not good very bitter! Also had the berry sangria was alittle sweet but also wished it was alittle sweeter. The magaritas were tasty and my husbands old fashion he said he liked! The bread with the sweet butter was great! Ambience inside was super nice!

Delicious food for lunch. Our server was attentive and helpful. The vibe is amazing. We will be back for dinner.

It had been years since I had dined here. The decor is probably as old as me. It used to be standard that you grilled your own meat or paid an extra charge for the restaurant to grill it. Now the menu says the grilling is done by the restaurant. However, you can ask to grill your own meat. Most of the dinner options are steaks. There is a Swordfish and salmon choice as well as pork chop and chicken entree. I had a ribeye steak medium well. It honestly was the best flavored steak I had in a very long time. It did have a lot of fat. The salad bar had your iceberg romaine mix (lots of spines which I don't care for). I would like more of a spring mix salad greens. Some pasta salad, potato salad and coleslaw were also on the bar. The croutons were delicious and possibly homemade. Several choice for your potato selection: baked, fries, steak fries, sweet potato fries or steamed broccoli. I would like to see a baked sweet potato as an option in the future. Our server was very attentive to the entire group. We were allowed to bring in our own dessert for after dinner. We supplied our own plates and forks. I am unsure if there was a fee for bringing our own dessert or "plating". They did refrigerate it for us during the meal. I do wish there were more bathroom options. 2 stalls on the main floor and the line can get pretty long not to mention the bathroom corridor is narrow. I asked if there were other restrooms and was told no.

She was really careful about my baby and I allergies and we were able to eat what we wanted without getting sick. I assumed it was seasoning powder. I could have probably asked her to get me a different side, but I didn't wanna cause a fuss and I was fine with what I had. I do believe they forgot my broccoli. Second time coming back we brought the in-laws from our home town in Arizona. Keep in mind we are new here and excited to embrace this new city and all its food places just like this. It was a Tuesday night and they were busy, not so busy that we had to wait for a table, we got right in. The blond girl that was to be our server came to take our drink order. I was on the fence for a few items so I asked the server, "When the cooks in this place get a moment to themselves to enjoy a dish, which is it they usually get?" She assured me without a doubt it was not the burger I was comparing but the duck reuben. Being a fan of both duck and Reuben's I was like, " oh hell yeah, sign me up". So I replied I'll have the Reuben, mom got meatloaf, dad got the burger, wife got the poke bowl. We had a few drinks enjoyed each other's company and then our appetizers came, the cheese curds!! Holy smokes these were legit the star of the evening! If you go I recommend these! Our food came out after and we began to eat. This is the point it went south! The server all but vanished. Usually you can't get a bite in before your asked how is it? Well we needed silverware, napkins, salt and pepper, basic accoutrements. Nobody came. My Reuben..... BORING!! This was the smallest plate of food I've ever seen. The duck was overcooked and dry, there was not a good ratio of slaw to dressing to duck and it was lacked all the way around. I was hoping to ask for some more dressing to bring some life to it but the server never came. Mom wanted salt and pepper for her meatloaf, but the server never came. Finally I was able to get S&P from a busser! The poke bowl was kinda a joke as well, huge bowl of rice and peas and about 3 or 4 small bits of tuna. It was good but not balanced and completely underwhelming. Folks are boomers so yeah considering mom needed to help meatloaf says a lot. But still no server! Finally she came back with the bill. At which point I had to mention that this was by far the WORST Reuben I have EVER had!! She giggled. I said SERIOUSLY, that was wack AF, and you never came back to check on us so I couldn't even attempt a save by dousing it in dressing! She ignored that and disappeared, yup the shitty Reuben was still there on the bull and nobody cared! Moral of the story, you're gonna gamble here. I would love to try again but when you can get a Reuben at One World that blows it out of the water EVERYTIME for a fraction of the price I would second guess giving your money to this business. Bummer, I love the building, I love the ice cream factory throw back! And the ambience is super nice! Service and portioning need a lot more investigation. Hey owner this is your queue!! Make a positive change here.
