Our food was delicious however the service was not that great. The only waiter that truly checked on us was the black waiter. I don't know if it was because we were black but he was not our original waiter. Our waitress came by only 3 times.

The staff were attentive and well versed on the menu. Josh was fantastic behind the bar and made me feel like I was part of the family. I love the vibe as it was inviting but still had some downtown Chicago ominous undertones. The food was amazing, French onion soup was rich and kept me wanting more after each bite. The chicken Marsala was cooked perfectly and the sauce was to die for, I could have poured that over anything. I opted for a healthier side option over mashed potatoes and went with the mashed cauliflower and it didn't disappoint. It was just as creamy as potatoes but the flavors popped more and I did use some of the Marsala sauce on top which put it way over. The charbroiled mashed cauliflower had a little crunch, sweetness and finished with an amazing flavor bomb. Highly recommend people trying this place, getting a Templeton cocktail at the bar and getting a taste of Chicago in Peoria!

We arrived with no reservations and were accommodated quickly on a Monday evening. The steaks, calamari and desserts were wonderful.

Stopped at Jim's while visiting for a concert at the civic center. This place was excellent! Ambience was that of an old timey supper club. We were able to get in without a reservation and sat in the bar area. The service was very attentive and the portions were great! We had the calamari as an appetizer and being from the chicago area, it was a ton of food. We ordered the prime rib and the filet mignon and both were cooked perfectly. The seasoning was excellent and tasted great. All the entrees came with bread, salad and a side of green beans. This place is a hidden gem and a must go if you find yourself in Peoria. Great food and great ambience!

It had been years since I had dined here. The decor is probably as old as me. It used to be standard that you grilled your own meat or paid an extra charge for the restaurant to grill it. Now the menu says the grilling is done by the restaurant. However, you can ask to grill your own meat. Most of the dinner options are steaks. There is a Swordfish and salmon choice as well as pork chop and chicken entree. I had a ribeye steak medium well. It honestly was the best flavored steak I had in a very long time. It did have a lot of fat. The salad bar had your iceberg romaine mix (lots of spines which I don't care for). I would like more of a spring mix salad greens. Some pasta salad, potato salad and coleslaw were also on the bar. The croutons were delicious and possibly homemade. Several choice for your potato selection: baked, fries, steak fries, sweet potato fries or steamed broccoli. I would like to see a baked sweet potato as an option in the future. Our server was very attentive to the entire group. We were allowed to bring in our own dessert for after dinner. We supplied our own plates and forks. I am unsure if there was a fee for bringing our own dessert or "plating". They did refrigerate it for us during the meal. I do wish there were more bathroom options. 2 stalls on the main floor and the line can get pretty long not to mention the bathroom corridor is narrow. I asked if there were other restrooms and was told no.

I am unsure if they actually see that on their end but the table they gave us was very romantic. We immediately noticed it and appreciated that small detail! We loved this as a date spot! The staff were all so extremely nice. The server we had was so friendly! He was smiley, joking with us and gave us great recommendations based on the palate of food we told him we liked. All the dishes we got MELTED in our mouths. The plating was beautiful and the portions (specifically for the Eggplant Curry) were very big! We couldn't finish it all and took basically 40% of everything home in boxes. Speaking of, our wonderful server offered to box our stuff for us and did a very professional job. The overall look of the place inside is very intimate and low light with blacked out walls, plush booths and metal accents. There was various different types of groups there too; big and small! People were drinking and eating with their families, coworkers, friend, groups, and dates! We only ate and didnt drink anything since I forgot my ID at home...but id imagine the drinks were also good. We would definitely eat here againn

They were able to get a big booth for us and we were all able to scoot around and have dinner as a family. She was really careful about my baby and I allergies and we were able to eat what we wanted without getting sick. I assumed it was seasoning powder. I could have probably asked her to get me a different side, but I didn't wanna cause a fuss and I was fine with what I had. I do believe they forgot my broccoli. Being a waitress in my 20's, I know how a big party can be a struggle. The reason I picked Thyme was due to some dietary restrictions. Thyme serves all. Love to see old buildings brought back to life, Thyme, in the old Sealtest building, sits in the warehouse district of downtown Peoria. The eclectic atmosphere is inviting. Second time coming back we brought the in-laws from our home town in Arizona. Keep in mind we are new here and excited to embrace this new city and all its food places just like this. It was a Tuesday night and they were busy, not so busy that we had to wait for a table, we got right in. The blond girl that was to be our server came to take our drink order. I was on the fence for a few items so I asked the server, "When the cooks in this place get a moment to themselves to enjoy a dish, which is it they usually get?" She assured me without a doubt it was not the burger I was comparing but the duck reuben. Being a fan of both duck and Reuben's I was like, " oh hell yeah, sign me up". So I replied I'll have the Reuben, mom got meatloaf, dad got the burger, wife got the poke bowl. We had a few drinks enjoyed each other's company and then our appetizers came, the cheese curds!! Holy smokes these were legit the star of the evening! If you go I recommend these! Our food came out after and we began to eat. This is the point it went south! The server all but vanished. Usually you can't get a bite in before your asked how is it? Well we needed silverware, napkins, salt and pepper, basic accoutrements. Nobody came. My Reuben..... BORING!! This was the smallest plate of food I've ever seen. The duck was overcooked and dry, there was not a good ratio of slaw to dressing to duck and it was lacked all the way around. I was hoping to ask for some more dressing to bring some life to it but the server never came. Mom wanted salt and pepper for her meatloaf, but the server never came. Finally I was able to get S&P from a busser! The poke bowl was kinda a joke as well, huge bowl of rice and peas and about 3 or 4 small bits of tuna. It was good but not balanced and completely underwhelming. Folks are boomers so yeah considering mom needed to help meatloaf says a lot. But still no server! Finally she came back with the bill. At which point I had to mention that this was by far the WORST Reuben I have EVER had!! She giggled. I said SERIOUSLY, that was wack AF, and you never came back to check on us so I couldn't even attempt a save by dousing it in dressing! She ignored that and disappeared, yup the shitty Reuben was still there on the bull and nobody cared! Moral of the story, you're gonna gamble here. I would love to try again but when you can get a Reuben at One World that blows it out of the water EVERYTIME for a fraction of the price I would second guess giving your money to this business. Bummer, I love the building, I love the ice cream factory throw back! And the ambience is super nice! Service and portioning need a lot more investigation. Hey owner this is your queue!! Make a positive change here.
