My husband and I fell in love with the venue, The Warehouse on State for our wedding reception,…read morewhich is owned and operated by Cracked Pepper Catering. Their family of restaurants (Cracked Pepper, Sugar, Salt, & Thyme) had never disappointed us in the past so I knew we would be in good hands. While planning our wedding reception, we worked with Marla and Mykenzie exclusively during the complimentary tasting for up to 6 people (available after you pay the deposit for the venue) and up to the wedding day. They helped us plan a gorgeous spread of food, from appetizers to late night snacks and our delicious wedding cake. Our wedding cake was made exactly to our specifications. We provided a picture of what we liked and they did the rest! We heard so many people express how much they loved the food at our wedding. In addition to the spectacular food, the space at the The Warehouse on State is a wide open room with more than enough space to accommodate larger weddings. We were able to seat 186 people with more than enough room for a large dance floor, photo booth, gift tables, as well as other decorative areas that were designed especially for us. All of our guests expressed how much they loved our reception and how beautiful it was. Our coordinator, florist, and Cracked Pepper did an amazing job! Thank you!!

The entree, chicken saltimbocca, was incredibly dry; I almost choked on the first bite of chicken. The sides, dauphinoise potatoes and green beans, were good. Thankfully, the desserts were delicious. There were jumbo lemon or double chocolate cupcakes. The lemon cake was dense, almost like pound cake, but had good flavor. The chocolate cupcakes were divine.

This was my second stay at the Pere Marquette, though they were 12 years apart…read more -My room wasn't ready when I arrived at 4:30 p.m. I went and did some work in the bar area while I waited. When I checked back in at the front desk at 5:40 p.m., it still wasn't ready. The staff member switched my room type to get me into a room, but there was no real explanation for what the issue was or why I had to wait so long. Also, I asked if I could leave my bag with them while I went to the bar. They put it slightly behind the desk but anyone could have grabbed it and left with it. -The rooms are on the smaller side. No big deal for me (I was alone and not in the room much). -There is a creepy af painting in every room. See photo. It was a hot topic among conference attendees -- especially because it appears that the bird painting is FACING THE BED in every room. Nightmare fuel. -Parking is $15 in the attached deck. They assume you parked -- no one asked me, no one verified, they just charged it to the room. Alrighty then.

No bottled water available for sale here nor the neighboring Courtyard. Everything in the hotel bar and marketplace areas is under stocked. DO BETTER MARRIOTT!!!! I have a kid at Bradley but will not come back here on my next visit- who is in charge here? Surely Corporate would not allow this representation. They should be fired immediately.

For the price and location, it was and wasn't worth it. I chose this hotel because I was fighting…read moreat CIRC Bot Brawl, which was held at the Peoria Civic Center, which was right across the street from the hotel. This was perhaps the major quirk of the hotel. The rooms were bigger than average and had a kitchen in them, but lacks some tools (like a colander, which makes straining the spaghetti that you bring a bit challenging). They didn't serve supper when we were there, but hey: that's why they got a kitchen! I can't say anything about breakfast because I had to leave before they served it. The place is laid out like a maze, and it took us almost 15 minutes to find our room. One of the lights in our room didn't turn on because it had burnt out, and one of the pillows had a stain on it (which was placed on the bottom where they thought a person like me, who sprays the room with disinfectant before getting settled in, wouldn't see it. Perhaps the most frustrating were the desk clerks, who acted rather rudely when asked to receive a clean pillow and some salt (which the kitchen also lacked). Worst of all was probably the pool: the hot tub was FILLED with sand at the bottom. I'm talking at LEAST 1/8" all over the bottom! Overall, I'm at a bit of a split between whether or not I'll return. While it was (mostly) clean, comfortable, and convenient, the dirty pillow, unfriendly hospitality, and an unusual amount of sand at the bottom of the pool have made me reconsider a more expensive option nearby...

They were able to offer us an attractive rate and we checked in. This was a "full-bore" Holiday Inn - not my usual Holiday Inn Express. This was a really nice hotel. Our room was comfortable and quiet - the bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless. The only downside -- full-bore Holiday Inns don't offer free breakfast like Holiday Inn Express locations but the lobby restaurant offered a pretty good, reasonably priced breakfast buffet. Really nice hotel.

My 20-year-old child was stranded in Peoria, IL due to a cancelled flight. I made a reservation…read morethrough the IHG website and explicitly disclosed that my child was 20 years old. The reservation was accepted as an exception. Upon arrival, the front desk agent, Justin, refused to allow my child to check in. His supervisor, Lynn, stated that Illinois law--or possibly this specific hotel's policy--does not permit a 20-year-old to check in (this was not clearly explained). Within five minutes, we were able to secure a reservation at a nearby, higher-quality hotel, where they simply required a signed waiver, which was not an issue. I would like to see better coordination between IHG and its individual hotels, as there appeared to be no alignment or communication in this case. More importantly, rather than outright refusing a stranded traveler with a confirmed reservation, some problem-solving would have been appropriate. If a waiver solution worked at a nearby hotel, it is reasonable to ask why the same approach could not have been considered here.
