Last week my BF told me to get in the car for a SECRET DATE and we ended up in Peoria, at J Draper…read moreGlass. Best surprise EVER! J. Draper Glass is a glassblowing studio that offers classes to the public. During our visit we learned about making those glass pumpkins that are EVERYWHERE in the fall (that I've been not-so-secretly coveting), and then, with hands-on assistance, we got to make our own! Jeremie is the owner of J. Draper, and she worked one-on-one with my boyfriend and me. She was incredibly helpful, nice, and funny. Jeremie and her associates have the whole process down to a science, telling you exactly where to stand, when, making the class safe as well as fun. It was so cool to pick out colors and then make my pumpkin, and I equally loved watching my classmates' pumpkins take shape. J. Draper offers all kinds of classes that cater to a variety of interests and price ranges. There are also dozens of pieces of glass art for sale at the studio if you just want to pick up something beautiful for yourself or a friend. I highly recommend taking a class at J. Draper Glass! It was a fun and unique experience that I'll remember for a very long time.

This is a really cool hands on activity and doesn't require guests to be super artistic. Anyone can do it with their help and make some really cool items. We made ornaments and sun catchers that will make great gifts or cool items for the house. I would recommend this for a date night, family night ( we had 7 people ), team building or just get together night with friends. No complaints at all. Not sure on the official age recommendation, but as a mom I'd say 12 and over.

One of the most basic things is guest service - the beginning interaction, the overall continued guest service while they're in your shop and the lasting impression that will be the deciding factor if someone will come back or not. I brought my family in and on a slower evening, mind you there were only (2) tables with (2) ppl at each table already painting their pottery. We walk in and the two girls at the register didn't bother to make eye contact, greet us, get up off their bums and ask us how our evening was... let alone helping us get started. They were more concerned about their personal conversation than working for the money the owners are paying them. Then basically they had to pry themselves out of their seats to get us paint... still no smiles, advice or anything. While we were painting they stopped at NO tables to ask if We needed anything or had questions. They just continued their personal conversations. Correct me if I'm wrong but they're there for the guests, not themselves. I can only hope they're better than that otherwise ownership really needs to take a closer look at who they let run their business. This is the first time and last time we will come back after spending almost $200 that night. It has a lot of potential to be a fun place to come and hangout but with employees like that, it was a turnoff immediately. I would've immediately turned around and walked out if it wasn't for me coming into town for a week to specifically spend time with my family while I was in town for a short time. But I was embarrassed I brought them there and we were treated or should I say ignored almost the entire Time we were there. When they wrapped up our session, again there was no smiling, zero personality and no cause to want to come back and spend more money. Debating if 2 stars is too much. Disappointing...

Friday, January 12th 2024, My boyfriend called Roto-Rooter to get a quote on how much it would be to clear our sewage drain. The representative stated that the company doesn't give quotes over the phone but what they do instead is send a team to your house to give you details on what needs done and how much it will cost. Fantastic! We proceeded to get scheduled for Monday January 15th and 12pm. Come Monday the 15th I waited and waited to get a phone call that they were on their way, it wasn't until 1pm when I noticed a RotoRooter vehicle outside of my neighbor's house. I went outside and asked if they were sure they were at the right house. They said they didn't have an appointment for me, only for my neighbors. I proceed to question if they're right considering our neighbors aren't answering the door, only to find out that they are in fact supposed to be at my house. That wasn't an issue though, just an error in communication. Once we got in my basement and the workers seen the pool of water around my drain he lets me know that they will be able to clear the line for $250. I agreed to proceed with their services. Both workers went out to their van to bring in their equipment and started working. No more than 20-25 min laters one gentleman comes up to ask me to come take a look at the drain. As I get downstairs he tells me that my exterior sewage pipe is BROKE & they were unable to clear my line. Instead the basement is now flooding with water, mud, and tree roots. I asked what our next step would be so I could let my boyfriend know as he is the one who knows more than me but he had to be at work. RotoRooter then told me their supervisor would be out to put a camera down my line (even though they wouldn't be able to see anything, the sensors would pick up where the issue was coming from) within the next few hours. They packed up and got out. Their supervisor showed up within 30-45 min. He came in and looked at the drain and gave me some knowledge on what he believes happened (roots got into the pipe and broke it) and what would need done in a case like this. He then proceeds to walk my yard locating the pipes with his tool and seeing where the "break" is. After about 30-45 min he comes in and tells me that my line is BROKE & he could have his guys out Thursday January 18, 2024 at 9am for 8k.. 8k was a bit much in my opinion but what do I know about plumbing? I felt pressured the entire time when I told them I had to consult my man regarding this. I also asked the supervisor why I paid 250.00, he proceeded to tell me its for them to TRY and clean the line..... Lol. "TRY"... lol they "tried" for 25 min tops! But okay whatever... Roto Rooter leaves and I feel uncomfortable about everything. I was later informed to call the Greater Peoria Sanitary District (GPSD). So I did and I explained my situation to the rep. I later received a call from Jason. I explained the situation to him, and he came out and checked the main lines to make sure there's nothing on the city's end that is disturbing my property (despite the fact he was on his way home for the day and we were currently at negative degree temps). He called me back within an hour and let me know that everything was good on their end! Later Tuesday afternoon I received a phone call from Jason at GPSD again. He told me that another team came out and took a cam down the main pipe to my lateral pipe and they could see that the pipe was full of tree roots but they weren't sure how far it actually went in. I was absolutely amazed that Jason and the other team with GPSD went out of their way in negative degree weather to give me a legitimate answer, not an assumption. 10/10 for customer service and I greatly appreciate everything!!!
