Jeremie's classes are some of the best learning experiences I've had! She's attentive, flexible in how she teaches and gives numerous examples if needed, and she genuinely cares about students walking away with not only beautiful creations but a lifelong passion for glass. Misty, Jeremie's assistant, is just as awesome! I've technically taken six classes at J Draper Glass: First was the Ornament Workshop Dec. 2013. Second was the Pendant Workshop (now the Sun-catcher Workshop) with Misty in Jan. 2014. Then I ended up doing three Easter Egg Workshops in April 2014 (so I made a total of three eggs). And most recently had the chance to be in the second advanced 1 class the studio has offered, A Bit Closer, in October 2014 where I made two "caterpillars" and two juice cups with a classmate. We learned to be each other's assistant which was just as interesting as actually being the gaffer (name for the person manipulating the glass), as well as more health and safety information and basics of working in a glassblowing studio. I plan on taking the next advanced class when finances and timing allows, and hope to be able to do other workshops in addition to practice skills learned. *** For those not obsessed with glass *** If you want to take a class for fun, Jeremie and Misty are just as interested in your experience being great as they are for those of us interested in pursuing the art further! They truly do treat everyone with the same level of attention and respect regardless of whether or not you're planning to take another class. And if you're just looking for a gift, then their new gallery just inside their individual entrance is filled with enough glass goodies to meet just about any need. It can be a little expensive if you aren't careful and don't set limits for yourself though, so remember that can always come back! If you just want to go watch something amazing once a month, check out the studio on First Fridays when they bring in guest artists (sometimes glass artists, sometimes other mediums) to do demos, and watch these two amazing women create some truly beautiful art! If you get hooked on First Fridays experiences, I strongly recommend coming back for their Annual Open House! Not only do they bring in other glassblowers for the event, they've also had a belly dancer, this last year they had a guy juggle molten glass (I'm not joking! I have video and it was every bit as terrifying and amazing as it sounds!), Misty displays her glass toys (2013 was her GIANT glass LiteBrite and Monkeys in a Barrel, 2014 was her Glass Jenga) and they have local companies that sell drinks and sometimes free appetizers. Things will probably be different this year forward as the space they used before has been rented to other artists by building management, but I have no doubt this year will be just as impressive! read more

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and looking to do something new on a Friday night. I heard about the "First Friday" event at the Studios on Sheridan. We had a wonderful time perusing the artwork while enjoying refreshments. The highlight for us was an awesome glass-blowing demonstration at J. Draper Glass - a beautiful stein was created. We ended up buying a couple of items that caught our eye, and I look forward to returning in the near future; it was a unique and impressive experience. read more

My daughter and I signed up to make blown glass Christmas ornaments. We each made one. Jeremie (owner and glass blower extraordinaire!) was very easy to work with. I am in a wheelchair and her confidence in her workspace helped me to feel very comfortable in the workshop. Jeremie said I was her first wheelchair but the way she handled it you'd never know. They periodically have hands on sessions - very highly recommended! We had an awesome experience and will definitely be back! read more

We team building event there yesterday and it was great! Jeremie and Misty were wonderful and patient instructors. The team really enjoyed getting to spend time with one another while making something unique. Rotating positions among the team member gave folks an opportunity to work together in different ways than we normally do. Can't wait to pick up our end products this weekend. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Jeremie and Misty! There are very pleasant and take the time to walk you through every step. I got the experience to make a pumpkin today. An exceptional experience that is not only unique to Peoria, but is truly exceptional all around. I took my two nieces (8 and 12) and Jeremie and Misty were exceptional in working with them.
