Turkey club w/ Mac and cheese side
Maria-Elena T.

My friend and I tried this place for a lunch on a weekday. The place was relatively empty at first. The decor is comfortable and charming with its display of cracked pepper mills. since we went late We both got the box lunch (add a side and a cookie). Two box lunches plus 2 waters came to $28 w/tip. I had the Turkey club, side of Mac and cheese, and an oatmeal raisin cookie. The Mac and cheese was very good although it looked boring. I recommend it! The sandwich was crazy big. There was a lot of (pressed) turkey, tomatoes, but only one slice of cheese and one slice of lettuce. I loved the cranberry sauce in it! Next time I would customize it to add more cheese and lettuce. The bread was thick and there were 3 slices of it. The sandwich was cut in half (I thought quarters was the rule for a club!). I could only eat half of it. The cookie was ok. My friend had the Spinach and artichoke turkey panini, side of potato salad, and chocolate chip cookie. The "spinach artichoke was a spread. He too only ate half his huge sandwich. He said the potato salad was good.

Creme brûlée, maple bacon, eclair, lemon bar.

We worked with cracked pepper for our wedding. The food was so good. Our guests had nothing but positive things to say. Highly recommend.

Been numerous times and enjoy most everything on the menu. Great lunch with items slightly different than other lunch spots.

When I checked back in at the front desk at 5:40 p.m., it still wasn't ready. The staff member switched my room type to get me into a room, but there was no real explanation for what the issue was or why I had to wait so long. Also, I asked if I could leave my bag with them while I went to the bar. They put it slightly behind the desk but anyone could have grabbed it and left with it. -The rooms are on the smaller side. No big deal for me (I was alone and not in the room much). -There is a creepy af painting in every room. See photo. It was a hot topic among conference attendees -- especially because it appears that the bird painting is FACING THE BED in every room. Nightmare fuel. -Parking is $15 in the attached deck. They assume you parked -- no one asked me, no one verified, they just charged it to the room. Alrighty then.

I have a kid at Bradley but will not come back here on my next visit- who is in charge here? Surely Corporate would not allow this representation. They should be fired immediately.

For the price and location, it was and wasn't worth it. I chose this hotel because I was fighting…read moreat CIRC Bot Brawl, which was held at the Peoria Civic Center, which was right across the street from the hotel. This was perhaps the major quirk of the hotel. The rooms were bigger than average and had a kitchen in them, but lacks some tools (like a colander, which makes straining the spaghetti that you bring a bit challenging). They didn't serve supper when we were there, but hey: that's why they got a kitchen! I can't say anything about breakfast because I had to leave before they served it. The place is laid out like a maze, and it took us almost 15 minutes to find our room. One of the lights in our room didn't turn on because it had burnt out, and one of the pillows had a stain on it (which was placed on the bottom where they thought a person like me, who sprays the room with disinfectant before getting settled in, wouldn't see it. Perhaps the most frustrating were the desk clerks, who acted rather rudely when asked to receive a clean pillow and some salt (which the kitchen also lacked). Worst of all was probably the pool: the hot tub was FILLED with sand at the bottom. I'm talking at LEAST 1/8" all over the bottom! Overall, I'm at a bit of a split between whether or not I'll return. While it was (mostly) clean, comfortable, and convenient, the dirty pillow, unfriendly hospitality, and an unusual amount of sand at the bottom of the pool have made me reconsider a more expensive option nearby...

They were able to offer us an attractive rate and we checked in. This was a "full-bore" Holiday Inn - not my usual Holiday Inn Express. This was a really nice hotel. Our room was comfortable and quiet - the bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless. The only downside -- full-bore Holiday Inns don't offer free breakfast like Holiday Inn Express locations but the lobby restaurant offered a pretty good, reasonably priced breakfast buffet. Really nice hotel.

The reservation was accepted as an exception. Upon arrival, the front desk agent, Justin, refused to allow my child to check in. His supervisor, Lynn, stated that Illinois law--or possibly this specific hotel's policy--does not permit a 20-year-old to check in (this was not clearly explained). Within five minutes, we were able to secure a reservation at a nearby, higher-quality hotel, where they simply required a signed waiver, which was not an issue. I would like to see better coordination between IHG and its individual hotels, as there appeared to be no alignment or communication in this case. More importantly, rather than outright refusing a stranded traveler with a confirmed reservation, some problem-solving would have been appropriate. If a waiver solution worked at a nearby hotel, it is reasonable to ask why the same approach could not have been considered here.

this place is a gem! that hit every check point to a great night on my girlfriends birthday!!…read more Bucky(great guy and stellar waiter!) took great care of us. we have some dietary preferences that we never impose on a place. we know our way around a menu and what we can and can't do. they really don't like tinkering with the dishes as they believe they are perfect the way they are(and they are right). however, the kitchen was gracious enough to do one of their pizzas without fresh motz and added beautiful heirloom tomatoes. we both agreed, Dave Portnoy would of gave it a 10...incredible!! the carrot appetizer as insane...bread perfect...everything was amazing. ambiance was perfect, lit dimly but not too much. glass/china was beautiful and looking at the open kitchen was soooo cool!! Bucky even brought out two glasses of Sauternes to help celebrate the occasion and made my GF's heart melt. every staff that touched the table was so nice and personable. thanks again for the amazing night!! couldn't of been better!!!

The bacon was super nice, the mustard on the burger was ridiculously yummy. Did I mention those confit potatoes? Haha yeah I did, they were, off the chain, a dill garnish and some orange aioli that set it off!! The inside although we didn't spend much time inside was super cute, and has that riverfront done well vibe! A place you want to be in! This would have been 5 stars BUT The 18$ Bloody Mary! This was a TRAVESTY! It reads so well on paper....... Then you get it, it was the most flaccid Bloody Mary I have EVER had! It was basically a tomato juice and possibly maybe somewhere in there was any hint of some vodka, not the vodka that it advertised. The weak ass 4 little tiny pieces of prosciutto and cheese was a sad excuse for the oversold garnish. If the food wasn't as good as it was, this place would have gotten a 3 stars for overall. Note to the owner: Please revamp this ASAP! There's a huge culture behind a solid Bloody Mary and it's not hard to perfect one. It needs spice and life and it was just sad. Ok back to the review... GO HERE! If like me, you are looking for good food.... This is the spot! About me: I am a fresh transplant from Arizona, particularly the southwest, we're there's a Bloody Mary or Chelada, or a huge selection of hot sauce in almost every place you can eat. I love supporting local! I love business done right. If you read this far, aside from the bloody this place is on my peoria MUST EAT list!
