    Fries in question

Me and my boyfriend ordered two medium rare steaks-one came out bloody red and raw and the other was completely charred on one side and tender on the other, as if it had not even been flipped on the grill. My side of augratin potatoes came out ten minutes after the meal Service was alright, forgot steak sauce a few times before bringing it out. I asked for mushrooms with the steak-never brought out. Atmosphere was nice... Stale fries

Real old time steakhouse. Love the ambiance. Dimly lit with large booths. Service was attentive and excellent. Drinks are pricey. The brandy old fashions were ok, a typical bar drink, not a hand crafted, muddled fruit cocktail as the price would suggest. The food was excellent. We came for the prime rib and we're happy we did. They have three sizes. The petite cut was the perfect size for all of us. $29.00 and it comes with soup or salad and starch. They also start you out with home made bread and cinnamon butter -- yum! The prime rib was perfectly rare as ordered and comes with a side of horseradish and au jus. The soup of the day was chicken noodle and very good. I upgraded to the French onion soup. It gets 5 plus stars. Very beefy and oniony served in a crock with melted cheese. The house salad was fresh and large. We ordered the asparagus and it was enough to share. I wish the waitress would have said that as 3 of us ordered it and we left a lot of it there. Overall a great dining experience.

I had heard good things about dinner here and when a friend wanted to do their lunch, I thought it would be the same thing or similar...however, i was wrong sadly and i was quite disappointed. I ordered a wrap with turkey, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. There were a couple pieces of lettuce, two pieces of tomato, 1 strip of bacon, and more tortilla wrap than anything else almost. On top of that, there was no real flavor, all of it being pretty blaise. The fries that came with it were room temperature and on top of that, almost soggy. To top it all off the service was almost non-existent and the place had about 5 tables total, so it wasnt even that busy. I might give them another try for their dinner, but will not be back for their lunch any time soon.

A good old realizable stake house. Great food. Their drinks really good and dang that fresh bread can't be better.

Go to place for prime rib. Old-style steakhouse vibe. Get the French onion soup as well.

Ambiance = to any other restaurant in the country…read more Service = to the finest restaurants in the US. Food = to anything worldwide. The owner/chef came out to introduce himself since he was informed that my wife and I were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. This was our first time ever at the restaurant and I am disappointed that while living in Peoria, IL for 50 years I never had been there before. Now it's the only place I will go out to dinner at when I am in Peoria. The address is actually listed as 3218 N. Dries Lane in Peoria, IL and is across from the old Landmark Theatre on Dries Ln. You can actually locate it off of University St. also.

I went to the host stand and inquired as to our table. I was told it was the best they could do,…read moreor we could sit on the patio out front. Did I mention it was over 90 that day?? Our servers were slow to the table. Introduced themselves saying the gent would be the main server and the lady would be helping. SHE did all the work. Never saw him again. We could hardly hear each other talk. We were practically yelling. Dinks finally arrived. Later I ordered another glass of wine which never arrived. When I asked about it, I was told we were lucky to get the first round due to how busy they were. I was shocked at the response. The food was unusually average. Two of the dishes contained lobster. One was overcooked, the other lacked flavor. Yes, there were large parties in the house that night, but that is their business to manage NOT an excuse. If they want to cater solely to large groups, then DON'T take my reservation. There is growing competition for places to go for a nice night out, I'll be sure this place is lower on my list going forward. I felt very disrespected. Not a feeling I've ever gotten from this place.

Review Visit: November 12th, 2016…read more I wonder if they have a Peoria Buffet in Hong Kong... ha. Ok, lame jokes aside, I may have found a new love at this buffet. Jalapeno Pepper Chicken. Soooo good. I generally get General Tsao's (or Tso's) because it is supposed to have a nice spicy kick to it, but this takes the cake. General is hit and miss at places on spicyness, but I think Jalapeno Pepper Chicken would have a consistent spicy kick due to the... well, peppers. A few of the items on the buffet were meh. The sweet and sour chicken was a bit dough-y. Sugar biscuits had clumps of sugar instead of it being evenly distributed. General Tsao's was not spicy, but was still good. We came here for my friends birthday and I am pretty sure I have been here before to eat. I know my friend comes here at least once a week to get food to go. Yup, they sell food to go. Probably charge by the weight of the container? I don't know. I typically don't add buffets to my travel list. Why exactly? I don't have a specific reason, really. But I've added this and Grand Village Buffet now, so there are exceptions to my rules. This one is a bit pricey. The price for a dinner on a Saturday night was $15 and change. All in all, a pretty good buffet. The service was prompt. Selection was decent and plentiful despite them closing 90 minutes after we got there. Online reviews are hit and miss, but that seems standard for any Chinese buffet/restaurant.
