Now that their liquor license is in place, 'PopUp kingdom' has a great new flagship location in the…read moreheart of the Peoria baseball stadium/warehouse district. And we highly recommend a visit, especially if you are familiar with the brand! Like the BloNo location there are at least two entrances - the one further west is for a good sized hosting/ordering/waiting area while the one closest to the ballpark has more direct access to the bar area, but is way more space-restricted and will likely be a traffic jam on game days. If you're looking for a table, both entrances open to the rest of the cool 'industrial chic' dining areas in the form of a large street-level open concept dining area and a good sized split-level (up 3-4 steps) back room - which despite having wide entrances that make it feel part of the larger space, likely can easily be cordoned-off for private functions. One visit in and the lady and I (plus our friend and former Ptown bartender) can say that the food was every bit the same top-quality, large portion, methodically cooked and creatively accented sandwiches and wraps, served in old school pie pans with red-white check paper liners, that we are used to. The weekend special shaved ribeye Cali burrito was particularly epic, cementing what seems to be the first of the 3 or 4 things that keep the crowds coming back. The second thing is the creativity and discernment applied to bar side - in the form of the beer menu, which is initially focused on bottles/cans since they just received the liquor license the day before our arrival. Despite this there was a good mix of 'domestics' and at least 20 quality craft options from 6 or 8 fantastic breweries representing a good variety of styles but leaning like those at the original location - that is, a few more IPAs and 'sweet sours'. They also maintain a thoughtful and inventive cocktail list and will NO DOUBT start building up the whiskey/bourbon collection in the coming weeks. Although having high quality and fairly compensated employees helps immensely, the last thing that really drives their business is something we often say three times - location... In this case, it's literally less than a block from home plate. Easy to find. Easy to love. We'll certainly be back!

Seeing the constant influx of customers right at supper time told me this place has to be good. Everything is sold separately and they have a little bit of something for everyone. This had to be the best chicken in town. Crispy outside and juicy Inside makes for a great tender (or tendo as they call them), these come with some of the best pickles and toast. Honestly, I could probably have used a few more pickles but that's me. You can choose your heat level too. The potatoes with dill were so good! Portions are decent too. I saw someone leaving with what looked like a milkshake that I'm getting next time. It looked like the perfect way to cool off on there hot summer days. I think I'll have to try a burger next time.

My husband and I have eaten here a total of 4 times. Every visit was different. Everytime I orded the Creole Chicken, Sausage and Onions Mac and Cheese and my husband ordered Creole or Cajun loaded Fries w Steak and Shrimp. The 1st time: They ran out of pasta by mid-day so I had to accept rice instead. The rice was good and well seasoned. However both of our meals were small. For that amount of money. I was shocked by how little they gave us. (I'll come back to that part later.) My husband's meal was also small and had VERY little cheese. The 2nd time: Again, the meals were small. However, the food was good. And this time they had pasta. We considered not returning because for that amount of money they didn't offer the right amount of food for the price. We decided to try again weeks later. The 3rd time: This time the food was AMAZING!!!! And it was LOADED! Now this is what we expected. So it validated how we felt the first 2 times. So the 3rd time, about 3 weeks ago my sister's were visiting and I let them taste it. They loved it. The plan was to purchase a plate for them the next time I see them. The 4th time (Sept 12 @ around 5 pm), whomever was cooking at that time did NOT season the food! This time it was definitely loaded. HOWEVER, the food was NOT good. My husband said he barely had cheese and as for my pasta, I literally had to season my food with salt, Cajun, and Obe Seasoning. It was THAT bland!!! Please do better. I don't want to see a good restaurant go out of business a year from now. My comment is not meant to tear you down. I hope the best for you. May you and your business be blessed beyond what you can ever imagine.

Disappointing Experience - Poor Service & Inconvenient Resolution…read more I placed a pickup order from Washington Family Restaurant and included two to-go orange juices. When I called to check on the timing, they told me I could come in right away. However, when I arrived, my order hadn't even been started, and I had to wait about 10 minutes. While I was waiting I watched the waitresses repeatedly drop menus on the floor, pick them up and put them right back into circulation, I did not see anyone wash their hands even once during the course of this. Once I finally got home, I realized my two orange juices were missing. I called the restaurant, and they confirmed I had been charged for them but didn't receive them. Instead of offering a refund over the phone (even though I paid with a card in person), they told me the *only* way to get my money back was to drive back to the restaurant. This completely defeats the purpose of ordering takeout in the first place. Mistakes happen, but the way businesses handle them matters. Expecting a customer to go out of their way to fix *their* error--on their own time and gas money--is just bad customer service. A simple remote refund or a credit for a future visit would have been reasonable. Unfortunately, their unwillingness to provide a convenient solution makes me question whether I'll return.
