    Treasure Island Burger
    Beth W.

Burger Barge continues to be a family favorite when we're in the Peoria area. We did note some changes at this recent visit that I thought would be good to highlight. First the menu was literally smaller in size, appeared to have fewer options, and prices hav increased (like at many other establishments). That didn't seem to impact our ability to find favorites and even try two new offerings. My husband went for the Big Bacon Lucy (one of his favorites), my daughter tried the new Bourbon Burger, and I went for the new Treasure Island Burger. The sauce of the Bourbon burger was spot on and really added to the flavor of the meat without overpowering it. The combo of items on mine was great together: Swiss cheese, ham, bacon, grilled pineapple, 1000 island dressing, and don't forget the plank sauce

Probably my fault for ordering a salad from a burger place but holy sh#t this was disgusting. I've never gotten a salad you had to eat with a spoon before.

I started my journey with the Bloody Mary Bar, where they give you vodka in a plastic glass and you can add your own ingredients. For a total cost of $3:00, this was a great deal! I ordered the Lucy Burger and tater Tots and my guest ordered the Original BB Cheese Burger with fries. One suggestion is to offer onion's with the Lucy, I asked the waitress for some and in my opinion it made the sandwich better. Great place for a burger, it was cold the day we came and they propped the door open to the back room area which made the main room colder. Looking forward to warmer weather.

Doesn't this look great? Tons of sugar and some booze. Not too much rum in this.

I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fresh fruit. . The chicken came as ordered, plain, with a side of honey mustard. The fruit was also very fresh! Everything was very tasty! My friends ordered the tenderloin and unfortunately I can't remember my other friend's order. They did say the enjoyed the food and too home the extras to finish. I thought my server was wonderful. I am currently on a low salt diet and she did her best to accommodate my needs. After she found out the tenderloin only came breaded she checked to make sure that would be okay, which it wasn't, but helped me order something else. She also didn't charge me extra for the fruit since I was unable to have a side. The cafe was very busy, but not too noisy, except for maybe one person who was seated across from us. I cannot wait to return, I had an exceptional meal.

As I was paying he fiddled with the register and as he gave me my change he slipped me a gift card. I was kinda taken back a little and we talked a little more then I went back to the table to finish our coffee to get ready to leave. I got to say the staff here is spot on. Never did we want for anything. The food was great and coffee was delicious. So we pack up the kids and go out to the cars to transfer bags and luggage when I turn around and here comes Oscar the owner. Evidently I dropped the card he had given me. He came right out and we talked a little more to the point I feel we made new friends with each other. I totally recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed. Bring your kids and family and enjoy a great home style breakfast. It's great!

And we highly recommend a visit, especially if you are familiar with the brand! Like the BloNo location there are at least two entrances - the one further west is for a good sized hosting/ordering/waiting area while the one closest to the ballpark has more direct access to the bar area, but is way more space-restricted and will likely be a traffic jam on game days. If you're looking for a table, both entrances open to the rest of the cool 'industrial chic' dining areas in the form of a large street-level open concept dining area and a good sized split-level (up 3-4 steps) back room - which despite having wide entrances that make it feel part of the larger space, likely can easily be cordoned-off for private functions. One visit in and the lady and I (plus our friend and former Ptown bartender) can say that the food was every bit the same top-quality, large portion, methodically cooked and creatively accented sandwiches and wraps, served in old school pie pans with red-white check paper liners, that we are used to. The weekend special shaved ribeye Cali burrito was particularly epic, cementing what seems to be the first of the 3 or 4 things that keep the crowds coming back. The second thing is the creativity and discernment applied to bar side - in the form of the beer menu, which is initially focused on bottles/cans since they just received the liquor license the day before our arrival. Despite this there was a good mix of 'domestics' and at least 20 quality craft options from 6 or 8 fantastic breweries representing a good variety of styles but leaning like those at the original location - that is, a few more IPAs and 'sweet sours'. They also maintain a thoughtful and inventive cocktail list and will NO DOUBT start building up the whiskey/bourbon collection in the coming weeks. Although having high quality and fairly compensated employees helps immensely, the last thing that really drives their business is something we often say three times - location... In this case, it's literally less than a block from home plate. Easy to find. Easy to love. We'll certainly be back!

Honestly, I could probably have used a few more pickles but that's me. You can choose your heat level too. The potatoes with dill were so good! Portions are decent too. I saw someone leaving with what looked like a milkshake that I'm getting next time. It looked like the perfect way to cool off on there hot summer days. I think I'll have to try a burger next time.

My husband ordered the Jambalaya Mac & Cheese 'without the crab'. The server never mentioned that the dish was pre-mixed or that omitting the crab wasn't possible. When our food arrived, she set down a Lobster Mac & Cheese instead. My husband hates lobster, so there would have been no reason for him to ask for "no crab" if that was what he wanted. When he pointed out the mistake, our server, Kris, initially argued with him instead of fixing her mistake. She eventually took it back, but it was another 20 minutes before his meal arrived. By then, I had already finished eating, so we weren't able to enjoy our meal together. I also had an issue with my Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich. Because of a medical condition, I can't eat the bun, so I cut the chicken up and eat it with a fork. That turned out to be nearly impossible because the restaurant only provides plastic forks and knives. While struggling to cut the chicken, my entire plate ended up in my lap. Kris didn't seem very familiar with the menu, and the overall service left a lot to be desired. Everyone has an off day, but for a first visit this wasn't a good impression and they weren't busy at the time. Between the incorrect order, the long wait to fix it, and the lack of proper utensils, we left disappointed and will probably choose somewhere else next time.

We do tend to lean left (NOT IN THE MINORITY) but understand we chose TXRH knowing they dabbled on the right side. Our waitstaff was great and meal was just so so. As we are dining I realize the second "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock begins to play on their canned music track. We look up at each other instantly. I am looking around the restaurant wondering how many children were in attendance. (It's about smoking dope and having sex) When we got home I started doing some investigating. Bawitaba is about methamphetamines, he has written lyrics about sex with a minor girl. Eff ***! Is another jewel. The vast majority of his so called music is not even close to being appropriate for families. We spoke with the manager and was told he could do nothing. We told him it really did ruin the meal. Think we were offered so much as drink of water for being highly offended? Nope! I talked to some woman in Louisville. Kentucky and was told she'd pass the "experience" on, but that they WOULD NOT be following up with an ending to this story. At one point she seemed to lightly giggle about what I was telling her. Believe me when I tell you I'm not even close to being a prude but I know right from wrong. America needs to know that yet another right leaning establishment is playing raunchy music at a family restaurant. We were truly appalled. Here's the Bottom Line: never going back. Turn that awful music down, stop playing music written by a man who writes about having sex with a minor. Just so it's clear, I was around when he really WAS popular. I should have listened closer to lyrics. Cause hearing them the way this world is today, stings. EVERY SINGLE WOMAN/parent should be speaking out. This goldmine has a lot of problems lately and they just lost this entire family too.

I said hard boiled egg, tomatoes, cucumber, whatever vegetables they had. She sort of shook her head as if she did not know what veggies they had. I ordered a side of blue cheese dressing. Mother in law ordered a grilled chicken salad. Mozzarella sticks took 25 minutes? I actually had to leave to get our laundry caus we were waiting so long.
