I'm giving this review 4 stars because the food was as good and abundant as always. Had the service been better I would have given it 5stars. The service was very poor. I was taken to Georgine's for my birthday celebration. There were only 6 people. Our table wasn't cleared between courses, which made eating difficult trying not to knock over piles of salad plates, soup cups etc. When we made requests of our waiter, we had to hunt him down to get what we needed. Not a bad place to eat, but like other reviewers, it is a bit dated on the inside. Feels like you're stepping back into the 80's type of vibe. As far as food, I've never had an issue. Took the family out to this old Gem! Dad had the Filet au Poivre which he gets all the time , says it's excellent with a side of fried shrimp My 6year old had the Filet with French fries. My husband never fails with the Chicken Vesuvius I had the crab imperial which was All Crab basically no filler as it should be! And mom had the her favorite chicken Parmigiana. Definitely outdated, smelled like bad fish, service was very slow, we were sat next to a large loud party. They should've been in a different room. Lots of food, but instead of bringing it out in increments it was all brought out within minutes of each other. Did not like the stuffing in the stuffed mushrooms or stuffed trout. Came here for a final big dinner with my classmates (about 15 of us). Appetizers and dessert were very good (especially the Fettuccine Alfredo) but none of us were a huge fan of the entrees. I got the Shrimp Scampi and it was a little too souplike/watery for me. Not much of a sauce for the pasta in it. A lot of the other people got the Chicken Parm and said the sauce was too sweet. Portions are gigantic and the appetizers are generous! I can see why many local families still gather here. The staff are old school, the linens are crisp, and the menu has a ton of comfort food. The ambiance and environment, however, is straight out of the 70s / 80s. Been going for nearly 25 years. Its always been our "go to" for anything special or intimate.. anything from Birthdays, Valentine's Day, Anniversaries and even long needed date nights. Food is always held to a high standard. Only one real downfall is that it's decor is dated. It hasn't changed in quite a while. Maybe a few things, but overall it still has that old time, needs renovation scent. (If anyone understands that lol) However, it doesn't take away from the quality (that's why I give them ****) They always start you with the best hot baked bread with 2 or 3 varieties of cheese spreads. It's the most exciting part lol the drinks are good. I would recommend the Steak Judy or even better, the Broiled Seafood Combo or even more decadent! The Surf & Turf! They also have my husbands very favorite Veal Parmigiana. They literally will need to roll you out the door, the portions are so large. Each meal could feed a village. It is an epic place. Start of to amazing night. I was told to try the famous crab dip. It was loaded with tons of crab and the tortillas chips were nice and flavorful. I also got a cup of lobster bisque soup it was good to. For my entree I got broiled seafood sampler came out piping hot and flavorful. Will definitely be back in the future. read more

This is the type of place I would aspire to run if I was in the restaurant business. Let's skip the food and stuff for a moment. The staff looks happy. That speaks volumes. The hostess looked happy, the waitress looked happy, the busboy looked happy - and it wasn't because it was a slow night and they were eager for our tips - far from it, it was rather busy for a Tuesday night, which was rather a surprise. I ordered snapper soup, apple sauce (not a salad guy) veal parmesan, and dessert. Everything was spectacular. The sauce tasted fresh and was nicely seasoned - definitely not something off a truck like another reviewer suggested. As soon as you sit down, they bring you over bread, two types of butter, and then packets of butter. I go for the packets of butter. After you've had a few minutes to peruse the menu, a friendly waiter or waitress comes to take your order. If you're a vegetarian or vegan, this isn't the place for you. Surf & turf, steak, and veal are what this place is known for, and the quantities are huge. You simply cannot leave hungry. This isn't the type of place for a night out, or a weekly thing...save it for a family gathering, date night, special occasion, etc. As for the prices - my dad and I had pretty much the same thing. We paid a little over $60 including the tip...and we had dessert. I first came to Georgine's as a young child, and I look forward to many more trips here. By the way...I don't know if it's the design of the building, or other means, but to help with the ambiance, your cell phone won't work. Went here when we were in town after being away for over 20 yrs. Was so surprised it was still here. Sad to say the quality was not the same. Had the veal Oscar. So disappointing. Veal was chewy. Hollandaise sauce was cold and crab had no taste. In fact the whole dish was tasteless. My dtr ordered salmon. It was a large piece of salmon but it was dry and tasteless as well. My husband had an appetizer, scallops a la gorgennes as his meal but they brought it as an appetizer. He said it was good. I still love this place. While the prices have gone up and the portions have gotten smaller, it's still a large portion of good food at a good price. We drove in from Harrisburg for a wedding a day early just so we could eat here. This is no small deal when you consider that doing so meant that I have to put up with my mother longer than I want to. I had several martinis to combat that :p We were seated right away and our server took good care of us. Yes, you are crowded in a bit, but this is not the place to go for ambiance. This is a place to go for lots of good food. That said, you really can't go wrong here. I got a martini and a half for $6. Yes, you read that correctly...$6 for a Tito's martini and a half. Our dinner for two (which included three perfectly done, 6oz lobster tails stuffed with crabmeat as well as a beautiful broiled seafood platter) was $90 before the tip. And I left uncomfortably full. I also left with a doggie bag, so that should give you a decent idea of the portion sizes. Looking forward to our next trip here! We have always enjoyed the food at Georgines you really get great value for your money. We decided to try the comedy club and dinner for our anniversary and my wife's birthday. Food again was excellent and plentiful we got prime rib and the shrimp crab platter, we also enjoy the vegetable plate they bring full of potatoes fresh carrots and string beans. Our waiter Dave was very accommodating and excellent. The comedy club was fantastic my wife and I enjoyed laughing our heads off for several hours which we definitely needed after four nor'easter snow systems. I have been to your restaurant many times through out my life and never have I been so disappointed! We sat at a table and the ceiling dripped dirty water on us. Our waitress a sweet girl was clearly embarrassed and talked to the owner who did nothing and never even apologized. We moved to a second table where the ceiling again dripped on my brothers plate. I had to unfortunately use the restroom during my dinner and the toilet was overflowing and full of stool. Flies were in the restaurant and the restroom. Our family of 8 had dinner at Georgines this evening. Food was good, and service was good. My question is, why are they so skimpy with their side dishes. Food is not cheap! All 8 of us were suppose to get a potatoes and vegetable with our dinner. For 8 people, the waitress brought out a tiny dish with a side of Mashed potatoes proportioned for one person and about 4 pieces of broccoli and carrots! They say it's family style, yet they bring a tiny portion enough for one person. We had to keep asking for more vegetables. Seems very cheap when your paying 25.00 to 30.00 a plate. This is not good. This is a great restaurant to go out to eat with family or celebrating a birthday. Really decent Italian food with large portion sizes, you really get quantity and quality food here. We celebrated my dad and mom's birthday here on a Saturday night. This place gets crowded, so make sure you make a reservation and even with a reservation you may have to wait 10-15 minutes. I ordered the Cajun Blackened Chicken served bee fettuccini Alfredo. It was very rich pasta which had a nice kick with the complimented blackened chicken. I could only eat half my meal but still made sure to save room for dessert. For dessert we ordered a cannoli and crepes stuffed with vanilla ice cream and strawberries on top. So filling but so delicious, one crepe could feed three. Warning: if it's busy you have to wait but the food is well worth it. read more

6/4/17 I've enjoyed eating at Georgine's since I was a child. We used to cross the bridge for special occasions. They give you complimentary baked on premise bread to start along with an orange (cheddar) and green cheese (chives?) along with butter. The green cheese has always been our favorite. Food has always been, and still is, excellent. Quality and quantity at a really fair price. Family of 6 can eat well for around $200 plus tip. They take reservations for every night now which is nice. In the past you could go and wait 2 hours to be seated on a Saturday night. Nice birthday effect with a sparkler in dessert. My only complaint would be that the restaurant looks the same as it did 20 years ago. Would be nice if the owners reinvested in their business and updated the decor. read more

We went here last night and I have never been disappointed in the past ; however last night was awful.. The bread was stale, the portions are much smaller, the family style vegetables and potatoes were almost non existent, and the veal entrees were not as tasty as usual and smaller. I know the pandemic has affected many business and I fear Georgine's is no exception to that. Georgine's was always one of my favorite places to visit but now I do not think I will return. I was there the other night and after many visits over the years I decided to have the Veal Georgine since it is their staple dish , I have to say I was very disappointed in the execution of this particular dish. it was extremely bland, This Georgine sauce was a milky sauce that lacked any type of condiments. the veal was tender and dredged in an egg batter same as the franchaise but lacked any other elements. I would have much rather ordered the staple Veal parmagiana but, I am not too particular on tomatoe sauce due it the acidity, but I was left wanting more from them. I know the wait staff did their thing and I don't like to complain because my wife doesn't like the embarassment, but for 27 bucks I felt that I should have gotten more for my hard earn money and said something. I tried to call to see what can do done, left a message with Rosie the manager and i'll see if they take the time to call me back. I attended Georgine's for a wedding and was so disappointed in everything. The food took nearly TWO HOURS to come out, came out cold, and the poor bride was so frazzled and embarrassed. The wait staff never refilled drinks, the tables were littered with used plates (yet somehow, if you were still eating, if you turned you back your food would disappear). I am so disappointed for the bride and groom. This place ruined their big night. I'll never go back for that fact alone, but wait, it gets even more appalling.. When the bride complained, they basically said "oh whoops, let us know when you book your next party here and we'll knock a few bucks off". What?! You can't offer her a free meal? Some money back? Some groveling? NEXT PARTY? YEAH, OK. They ruined these people's wedding reception, yet they think they'll be back to book another party? As someone who was in the service industry for over a decade, I can honestly say this is one of the worst restaurant mess-ups I have ever encountered. I am so heartbroken for this couple.
