Things are still good here at Texas Roadhouse. Given the commotion of attempting a large party at such a place on a Sunday evening, we came here today, as we always do, only for a special occasion. Waitlist via the app is recommended. We were ultimately waiting ~15-20 minutes from the time that we arrived on site since we had put ourselves on the wait list an hour prior. Staff is super friendly given all the incessant "is my table ready?" questions that they get from folks. Things are pretty packed here but we got a table, and were helped and served quickly, and checked on regularly. Our table got the usual: Cactus Blossom, ~6 baskets of bread over the course of the meal, and individual meals. We shared a 12 oz. ribeye w/ ribs combo. Today it was actually not as good as usual, a bit more medium rather than medium rare, and the ribs were dry on the outer half. However, still a completely filling and enjoyable meal all things considered. Pro-tip: put the last bits of your Cactus Blossom in a bun with both butter and sauce for a treat that is much more unhealthy and delicious than you bargained for. To boot, we asked the staff to put our celebrant on the saddle, even though we weren't celebrating his birthday, and they happily fulfilled our wish. Steak, Rolls, and a Birthday Win! We were heading from Philly back to NYC and wanted something out of the city, easy parking, and REAL food. Nothing beats a good steak and a roll. Add the fact that it was my boyfriend's birthday the following day and he loves a solid steak, Texas Roadhouse became the stop. They opened at 12:00. By 12:01, people were already seated. On a Sunday!!!! The locals knew what time it was, and that told me everything. We were greeted warmly, seated comfortably, and our waitress was an absolute gem attentive, kind, and on point from start to finish. Love love loved her! Even accommodated my birthday surprise for my boyfriend. But listen... Norm, the owner or manager (forgot the title but may be both ‍), deserves praise. That man was WORKING. Serving tables, slanging salads, running food, checking on guests. I have never seen an owner or manager that hands on in a franchise spot. Ever! Shout out to Norm because leadership like that shows. The staff were wearing "I love working here" shirts and you could see what a well oiled machine it was. They sang my boyfriend Happy Birthday without the saddle as requested by us, respected the vibe, and made it special. He demolished the buttery rolls and said the peanuts reminded him of home. I was driving to an event to celebrate the 4th of July when I looked to my right and saw a Texas Roadhouse. I always heard about their rolls and the honey butter spread so I decided to stop by on my way back home! I ordered online and recieved a notification that my food was ready in about 25 minutes. When I arrived, I noticed the parking lot was packed as well as the restaurant. I ordered the green beans, ribs and sweet potato platter. Everything was delicious the ribs was smoked and falling off the bone, the green beans was flavorful and the sweet potato was whole, cut in the middle with marshmellows. The complimentary bread was also good however they forgot my honey butter. Sad face Overall I paid 20.00 which was pretty good for a lot of food that lasted me two days. Not sure if this is a location thing or if corporate changed their formula but there are no beans in their chili! A "true" Texan chili! Rattlesnake bites are a but hit or miss... sometimes you can taste the jalepenos snd other times you cannot. Either way, they are one of my go-to apps. Now you know going into a place like this, Longhorne or Outback you are not going to a steakhouse, you are going to a place that serves steak. There is a difference. I know it you know it, everybody knows it. The place is clad in kitschy Texas decor, rustic, dimly lit, always packed and loud. The service is always good at the Bensalem location. They are very much indeed programmed for the upsell, these servers will sell you the shirt of their back if you were willing to buy it. "would you like a sidekick of ribs?" "would you like to add mushrooms to your steak?" "how about adding some shrimp to your steak?" "would you like your baked potato loaded?" "what can I get you from the bar?" "can I interest you in a bloomin onion?" Etc. It's not their fault. It's a product of the chain. Our meals were served promptly , as always with a smile and our steak dinners were all we expected from Texas Roadhouse - they were decent cuts of meat cooked and served the way we ordered them. The baked potato was good but small, the Caesar salad tasty but could have used a little more dressing but the green beans I would definitely pass on next time. All in all, we got exactly what we expected and were happy with our meal, the service, and our experience. This place is always packed for a reason. It's a nice family environment or good for date night. The food tastes good and you can pick your cut of steak if you would like. Large portions that fill you up. My only complaints are the the bathroom has been gross the two times I've been here and it take awhile to be seated and the seating is a little tight. read more

I thought about giving this restaurant 2 stars but bumped it up one because the service was excellent. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the food. I usually avoid chain restaurants, but on the few occasions I've tried one I was sometimes pleasantly surprised. So when a friend invited me to dinner at this steakhouse to pay me back for a favor, I figured "how bad can it be." Not having been here before I checked the online menu the day before. Not wanting to tax my friend's offer by ordering one of the pricier steaks, I ordered the steakhouse salad. When it arrived at our table I was disappointed to see SIX slices of steak atop the salad, each slice just HALF the size of the EIGHT slices they show in their online menu photo. That's a significant difference, considering the dish cost close to $20. Even worse, although the steak slices were medium rare as ordered, the meat was as tough as any red meat I've ever set teeth on. Biting through it was a chore, and I could literally have chewed each bite for hours and would still have a wad of gristly connective tissue in my mouth. I wondered whether the more expensive filets were tender, and whether the shoe leather meat was confined to this one location. I got my answer the next day when I told my experience to a friend, who had recently been to one of the chain's restaurants in Delaware. She said everyone in their party who ordered a steak remarked on how "chewy" the meat was. Needless to say I won't be going back for seconds, so I'll never find out if one of their so-called "melt in your mouth" steaks is any more eater friendly. But maybe this is how Aussie's like their meat? read more

Honestly, rolls were good but steak was terrible. We always order medium rare. They went three for three with being way overcooked. Told the waitress (who was about 10 minutes too late... and she asked if we wanted to have them all redone. Said it has been like that all day. We were already waiting 30 min past our estimated time to get seated and had apps and sides before steaks arrived. She didn't even tell her manager because it was still a $160 meal and no one else came over. Would not recommend, not worth it. Stopped in here on Saturday afternoon for lunch with a friend. She said it had been forever since she had a meal here. She was floored at how crowded it was. She put our name in on the website. We only waited about fifteen minutes for a table which was great. The restaurant was packed. We started with an onion (I forget what they call it here). Bread and butter are LEGENDARY. The butter is slightly sweet and so fluffy. I love the apple and cinnamon flavors in the butter. Cactus blossom: I love the chipotle sauce it comes with. The onions were crunchy, but also very oily and heavy. It was hard to finish it all because of the greasiness. Ribeye and ribs: We chose the chili and loaded potato as sides. The chili was salty, spicy, and delicious! The loaded potatoes were good, but nothing too special. The steak and ribeye were good, especially for the price. Sirloin with grilled shrimp: the shrimp was salty and had a weird texture. The sirloin was good though. Smothered chicken with gravy: it was really good! The chicken breast wasn't dry, and it was super tasty with the mushrooms and caramelized onions. tl;dr: AMAZING BREAD AND BUTTER. Onion blossom was good, but heavy. Steaks and chickens were all good. My wife and I came to Texas Roadhouse Thursday evening to help out a local school. We had an ok meal. We were quite surprised at how busy the restaurant was and we had about a 40 minute wait a bit after 6pm. After being seated in the very loud place, we had pleasant service throughout. The frozen and rocks margaritas were very tasty and on the sweet side. Our food of a 12 and 16oz ribeye were both overcooked. One was quite charred. The baked potato was nice and sweet potato perfect. The puffy rolls with the cinnamon butter were also great. My Caesar salad had way too much dressing. A second drink I ordered which had vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice and one other thing was just awful. I asked for it to be taken off the bill and it was. Texas Roadhouse is not your high end steak restaurant. It's loud and boisterous, and I think that if you are looking for high quality steaks, then go elsewhere. $74 for two drinks and two steaks, one with an upcharge for mushrooms and onions, not including tip. I've visited this location many times over the years. Parking is usually found with no issue, waits can be long so call ahead. A friend does rib fundraisers from here a couple of times a year. For the most part, I have found their fall off the bone ribs to be tasty and consistent. I think the sauce is on point, the meat can at times be a little weak, but it depends on the cut you get. Steak wise, I always seem to get a cut that has way too much fat. I've gotten different cuts over the years and I just don't seem to have luck. This place is loud so be ready for that. Some older folks I've had in my party weren't a fan of the volume the music is played at. Server wise, I can't say I've ever had a bad one. Beer is ok, selection could use some expanding. Their house steak sauce is awful, it's literally made in house and I sincerely wonder what they put in it. On my last visit I chose the 20oz bone in ribeye topped with sauteed mushrooms. The portion was decent, but again way too much fat to cut through. Green beans for a side were a home run, they have some bacon flavor to them and were delicious I would highly recommend them for a side. Mashed potatoes were decent. The bread and cinnamon butter are always good to munch on. I think there are local options that beat this place out, but as far as chains go this isn't too bad of a choice. The prices aren't too bad. Moving forward I think I'll pick my own steaks out or just stick to the ribs/other menu options. read more

Good food and friendly service. The baked rolls with sweet whipped butter and option to pick a steak from the display case are a nice touch. It can get quite busy here, so I highly recommend that you go on the earlier side for dinner--I.e., before 17:00. Additionally, there is an early dine price on many of the main dishes on the menu on most days of the week. While not the healthiest option, the Cactus Blossom ("Texas-sized, golden-fried onion with Cajun Horseradish sauce for dipping") is our favorite appetizer. I'm not always successful, but I do my best to avoid it as it's so delicious. A number of healthier entree options are available, including the Herb-crusted Chicken (pictured). Consider donating to "Make-A-Wish" and receive a voucher for an appetizer during a future visit. read more

We only had to wait 20 minutes till our table was ready. The dinner hour was starting. There was a big bar in the center of the dining area with tables around the bar, and that's where we sat. I enjoyed this because it was a high table, and I could see most of my surroundings. We ordered drinks, and they had a special $5 Margarita in a big glass, which was delicious. We ordered a cactus onion for starters. It came out very hot and crispy with a tangy sauce that had a bite to it that went well with the onion. We both got the steak, of course. Who goes to a steak house if not for the steak? I ordered a 6oz filet cooked medium well, and it came with two sides; sweet potato and corn is what we both got, and my friend's steak was a t-bone cooked medium. My steak came out rarer than I liked, so I had to return it; the manager brought me a new plate with a new steak and sides and apologized. I was impressed and grateful. The waiter was training a new waitress, and they were both good and attentive. Our meal was delicious. When we left, there was a line out the door, and that's always a good sign that the food is good. Kid-friendly, handicap accessable and plenty of parking. Clean restrooms. Their is all kinds of other things on menu, chicken, ribs, and salads, I do recommend the Texas roadhouse, prices are fair. read more

Their service is top notch and I told my friend yesterday: "you know how we are just another customer here, but every time the server comes, they always made it warm and welcoming. To begin, yes: this is a chain restaurant. However, I have yet to have a bad experience or bad food, no matter what location I am at! This review is for the Bensalem location. I have a friend who loves steak as much as I do and we hop about trying different steak houses or restaurants. TX Roadhouse is always a solid option for a great tasting cost effective meal. The blooming onion is always great, along with the roles and honey butter. Depending on the steak you order, there's normally an option of you picking the exact steak that you want. My choice of steak never wavers when here. I prefer the porterhouse steak and a vegetable of some sort. I love eating the filet mignon and saving the sirloin for the next day's lunch or dinner. I just transform it into a quesadilla or fajitas or even the steak for a salad. Two meals for the price of one As for the desserts, I never have room, but they always look great. The servers are always bustling about and friendly.
