i have always loved georgia blue. the food was still great and did not disappoint, but service seemed to be at an all time low this past visit. i watched as what seemed someone directing/training multiple servers. there seemed to be a good bit of confusion. it took a bit of time to get my drink and food order, and took more time than usual to receive refills. hopefully service will return to as previously. read more

Amazing find while passing through from Madison MS to New Orleans's... every bite was packed with flavor and the staff was awesome. Our server Kaleena was friendly and helpful especially when we told her we were in a rush to our destination. We tried the Creole Spinach dip (must try) and the GB Nachos, Bayou Bites and Garlic Parmesan wings as appetizers all were fresh and delicious. Followed up with entrees of Pot Roast Po'boy, Creole Mac (to die for) and Shrimp and Fried Chicken Ziti. Great food, great staff, a little slow, but it's not fast food so... I would recommend this GB to everyone. I had the shrimp and grits. Best dish anywhere. I also love their blue plate specials. The atmosphere is nice. Only one thing, the back door that leads outside to the patio...when the waitresses open the door to go back and forth to wait the tables, cigarette smoke wafts in from outside. Had a wonderful lunch today. My wife and I were seated really quickly. I ordered the shrimp and grits. They were awesome but I wish that I had gotten them blackened. I also wish that it came with bread. My wife had the red beans. They were also magnificent. The atmosphere was pretty great. We didn't have wine but they did have a nice list of drinks. The desserts were looking good coming out also. The only down side to the whole thing was that it was slightly pricey. My order was $20 and my wife's was $15. Ok...so this is a hidden gem for out of towners! We travel from Louisiana to Jackson often and didn't know it was there. Our long wait at Cracker Barrel is what prompted us to search nearby and we are so glad to find it. The red beans are too notch, the boneless buffalo wings are truly buffalo (HOT), the salmon with veggies was amazing and the hamburger and kids pizza were a hit with the kids! When you visit you GOTTA try the Fat Boy A'La Mode which is brownie with cookie crust with vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips and caramel and chocolate sauce too! Definitely glad to find this new (for us) spot and will be back next time we get on the road to JSU! read more

Food was so good this time!!! The special was boneless fried chicken... mashed potatoes with skin in them as they should be, in my opinion. My only issue...which was so not important considering how good the chicken and potatoes were...was the green beans. If you like super cooked green beans cooked with bacon...then these are for you...but they weren't for me. I like mine still crunchy...with salt and pepper. Live music at the bar made the experience even better. Bar tender was super sweet and accommodating. Thing will definitely be my regular spot when I'm in town. read more

Amazing! My husband and I tried this restaurant today and found it delicious! We both had their blue plate special. Best ever fried boneless chicken breast, great mashed potatoes, yeast roll. We also had their fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. They served them with a very good crawfish cream sauce. But I loved them with ranch dressing!!!!!! Then as if I wasn't stuffed enough, I had to choose between pecan cobbler and blackberry cobbler! Both my favorites. I chose the blackberry warm with ice cream. It was very good. Great food I had oyster husband had chicken strips and fries. My oysters came out too hard but the manager and waitress quickly fixed the problem. They bought out another order of oysters. While in Brookhaven in Monday for Labor Day, we discovered that Georgia Blues was the only place open so we decided to go and dine. My grandmother is a very picky eater so I was very nervous but to my surprise she was very satisfied. Everything was absolutely perfect. We were all very impressed from the moment we walked in. Our server was so nice and checked on us frequently, our food was out within 10 mins of our appetizers and it was so good, we had the Duck Wontons and Bayou Bites for appetizers, the Mardi Gras, Mahi Tacos and Shrimp and Grits for entrees and Pecan Cobbler, GB Donut and Fat Boy a la Mode for dessert. This has been the worst service I've had in a long time. Our food arrived BEFORE our drinks. We are not talking about alcoholic beverages just water, tea, and diet cokes. The girl that brought out our food (not our waiter) called the manager over and told her. The manager must have been on the way out the door to run an errand because she had her purse and energy drink in her hand. She was unfazed by this as she continue walking towards the door. Let me rephrase that, she caught eye contact with our waiter, Henry, and mouthed drinks to him across several tables as she continued walking. Let's continue to the end of the meal. The bill was wrong and had to be corrected by the manager ( she had returned from her errand). I made mention to her how horrible service was today. She said NOTHING, left the table, corrected the bill, brought it back, and walked away. If the manager doesn't care why should the employees I guess. I'm still sitting here waiting for our credit card to be brought back to the table. I have never written a 1 star review before today. read more

I tried this place with my dad after I moved back to Brookhaven, and I've never been blown away by anything in Brookhaven, actually I've never had anything "amazing" in Brookhaven so I was skeptical but I actually liked this place! The first experience I had my family went, and brought me something back as a to-go order, and the burger was HUGE! I couldn't believe it. The second time I went, I actually went to dine in. We got the apps of fried collar greens, fried crawfish tails, and pickles, and they were awesome! Highly recommend! My dad and I both got the crawfish, and shrimp po-boy. Neither one of us was wowed, I should have stuck with the burger, but how would I know any different unless I tried something new? It was just really hard to eat honestly. All the shrimp, and crawfish was just piled on the bread, and you couldn't pick it up. It was just awkward. When I think po-boy I assume I can pick it up like.. Well.. A sandwich. And very greasy. The service was pretty mediocre. Saw our waitress to get our drink order, and food order, food was brought by somebody else, never had a chance to get ketchup, or any condiments cause she only came back to bring us our check. But terrible service is a trend in Brookhaven anyways, so I wouldn't say be surprised about that. But I do recommend any of the burgers, and the apps we had! They were great! read more

Great spot for lunch as the blue plates are awesome, well priced, and the service is great. I love the bar, the patio, and the option for private dining upstairs. First time. Table of 5 with two adults. I had the Sunday special prime rib. 10 oz with three huge sides. A little over cooked, but tasty. Fried green tomatoes was good. Thr other adult had fish/shrimp poboy that he said was good. Two had fried chicken breast and one had seafood pasta. We all was pleased. Service was good.
