Food was good. Ordered the Grouper sandwich... didn't have much meat on the sandwich but the flavor was food.

We were told a 30 minute wait and only waited 35 minutes so that was not a bad start. However they cleared off an upstairs table for our party of seven and things went downhill from there. If you do not have the staff to appropriately wait on a table of seven then just say so. We had also offered to split into a four and three top. We were quickly greeted by Nathan our waiter who was very friendly and nice. We were served our beverages- water only- no Bar service on Sunday. That is not a big deal. Once he took our lunch orders we waited for almost an hour to get our food with no explanation. The food was all lukewarm. The worst of everything was that he brought four of the lunches, stated he would be right back with the other three lunches, and never returned. He instead began waiting on a party of 20 that had been seated upstairs long after us. The last three lunches were served 20 minutes after the first four and after those four people had finished their lunch. Very frustrating and absolutely no explanation. Food was OK but not outstanding. I do not plan on going back to this Georgia blue again. We have had very pleasant experiences at the Georgia blue in Flowood Mississippi. And I gave two stars just because I really do want to support our local restaurants. But certainly had to state how unpleasant our experience was. read more

The food was pretty good. Got the shrimp and grits bites and jambalaya pasta. My sister got the onion straws and they were 5 star! Only complaint would be that my drink was way under par. Got a drink that was supposed to taste just like a hand grenade from New Orleans and it definitely didn't taste anything like that. I asked to return it and just get water. Apparently I require better service than the average customer. Little things like a full 9 minutes 46 seconds after you've given your drink order before you get a bottled beer( how I know the time is the guy blasting us from the bar with his guitar played the extended version of Phil Collins "in the air" and then "drops of Jupiter" while we waited for our drinks)or getting your appetizer AFTER your main course bother me. We waited until later than the 25 and under date crowd would have been seated on a Friday night to show and that was a stroke of genius. We were seated right away so I had high hopes. Alas my hopes were dashed. We orderd turnip green bites for appetizer. These are the signature dish. They were piping hot when we finally got them but I couldn't really enjoy them because of my frustration at getting them for dessert. They seem to be more cheese than turnip greens but greens and cheese battered and fried cannot really be messed up. My main course was DELISH!! Shrimp and grits with a corn cream sauce almost made up the difference. My husband ordered hamburger steak with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled corn. Why he ordered hamburger steak I'll never know. Bland. The grilled corn was burnt on one side so they plated it burnt side down. After forgetting us for a while our server seemed to want to rush us out the door. We would have had a few drinks but felt the push and left. Side note: the manager or shift leader stood at the kitchen door with a congregation of servers blocking the door for food delivery while they all chit chatted and enjoyed their Friday night social. Probably won't be back on weekend. $65 for two entrees, two beers and appetizer. Will spend that somewhere else. read more

I called in takeout tonight. I ordered a cup of the red beans and rice with a crostini. The Hodge Podge Poboy with fried Gulf shrimp and fried crayfish tails. And a slice of the cheesecake with strawberry topping. The red beans needed a little bit of salt and the crostini was very soggy. The Poboy was good and I still love the bread. And the cheese cake was absolutely wonderful!!!! read more

I travel a great deal. Brookhaven MS is a long ways from my NW home. Finding the local gems can be a challenge sometimes. But a client referred me here and I hit pay dirt. Great service. Great food. Bar service extremely slow and they have 3 people behind the bar and it's not that busy. Maybe cause town is new to alcohol and they are trying to find their stride. Chicken parm was barely edible. Okay, I'm all for eating at the new eateries in town & my two besties & I usually eat at GB once a week. The best food on the menu is on the Appetizer menu. Almost everything on there is great. The side salad with the house vinaigrette "Jenn's Vinaigrette" is AWESOME!!! It has a piece of pear & either feta or goat cheese...oh my...just try it! Pass on crawfish crepes & the crab cake poboy....rates about a D in my book. My besties get the big salads & added grilled chicken. Just FYI...one friend ordered her salad with Blackened chicken & the other friend ordered just grilled chicken...blackened friend's ticket was $3 more & when she asked about it, our waitress said that was the charge for the blackened seasoning! WHAT??? That won't happen again! Overall the food is fine. About a 4 star. read more

Great food and great atmosphere unless they have live music. The music was so bad I almost got up and left. You won't be able to hear yourself think it's so loud and I was on the other side of the restaurant separated by a barrier. If I come back and there's a musician I will go elsewhere. read more

Went out the other night with 10 friends to hangout one more time before one of our friends moved out to Utah. Food was great the girls who set us up outside were super nice but our waitress was very snippy. Especially when my fiancée mentioned her dairy allergy (she is deathly allergic) which is actually the main reason we never go eat there anymore cause since they took away the vegan pasta everything else she would eat has some form of dairy in it. I certainly recommend this place! Been there many many times and will be back again and again and again! I've tried other places like Mardi Gril, other independent places Even went to Mc Donalds, KFC, etc etc in that area. ...Well you get the idea. omg don't get me started. Georgia Blue is far better. Stopped while traveling and found a winner. The atmosphere is great with a mix of Memphis blue decor and food to match. A must try is the Red White & Georgia Blue salad. Great combination with blueberries, strawberries, pears, and almonds mixed atop a fresh spring salad and topped with goat cheese. The teasing served with it that I would not stray from is the strawberry vinaigrette!! Nice menus of appetizer, entrees and sandwiches. They daily blue plate specials. read more

I will begin by saying positive things...nice portion size, great selection choices, pretty good food, very nice staff. Now for the negative unfortunately; I wish I had read the reviews before we went tonight. Although I have dined here, my niece has not. Because it was her prom, we brought her to Georgia Blues, she is a special needs teenager so her family was determined she have a memorable night! Her grandmother called and made reservations. This was confirmed over the phone and our names were taken supposedly. When we arrived we learned they do not take reservations. I did ask for the manager to speak to our table when we were seated, he came over and repeated the restaurant policy (I understood it the first time). When I explained our purpose for visiting tonight, and how we were unable to set the table up with my niece's flowers and gifts beforehand I was again told the policy. This definitely put a negative mark on our night out, which should have been a fun and exciting time. I don't ask for discounts or freebies, but comping our appetizer at least would have gone a long way. I might eat here again, if someone wants to go, but I won't choose it. read more

The wait staff was very friendly and prompt with all of their service points. The menu has a lot of variety: southern favorites, seafood entrees, burgers, and a good app selection. My entree was the crawfish and shrimp, and had the local house "blue brew". The dessert menu looked very good but didn't try any. The food was great. I've been to the Georgia Blue in Hattiesburg and Flowood, and I gotta tell you that this one has been my favorite. Located in downtown Brookhaven, Georgia Blue doesn't look like much from the outside. It's nestled between other downtown restaurants and shops in a beautiful building with huge wooden doors, but that's really it. Inside though, it is absolutely beautiful and spacious! The ceilings are true to the building's history while the walls and floors are modern. Huge portraits of music notes hang, and the overall ambiance is just plain cool. I got the crab cake poboy because 1) it has fried green tomatoes on it and 2) it has fried green tomatoes on it. My husband got the fried crawfish salad, and while I could only eat half of my huge portion he managed to eat every bite of his. The only comment I have that isn't 100% positive is that the service could definitely improve. Our waitress wasn't bad, but she also wasn't a 20%+ tip waitress. Other than that, we'll definitely be coming back when we visit my family in the Home Seeker's Paradise! read more

Dont often write reviews but my wife and I foung ourselves in Brookhaven and after reading favorable reviews on a travel site we decided to give it a try. Being from New Orleans we have access to quite a few really good restaurants/ food. I can honestly say that the meal we had here rivaled any we have ever had in New Orleans or elsewhere. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Even worth a drive up just for a meal here. read more

Fantastic food. Passed through on a road trip and stopped here for lunch. Had a great crawfish salad and fried green tomatoes with an ocean sauce of some sort which was loaded with chunks of crab and crayfish. Great feel to the place, friendly staff and a great little courtyard. read more
