I had been using George's oil company for years. Recently i have had a bad experience with them. My burner went down and i received a service call, they got me up and running again however it failed to operate for any substantial time period it failed again. Another service call was made and this time various parts were changed. Again it failed so i called in another company and they identified the problem right away and this time it was fixed for good. Now, i get a bill for $908.60 for the new parts and the labor. Apparently i did not need these parts but am told i have to pay for them anyway. Instead of throwing parts on it, it should of been fixed properly. I called to question the bill and was told basically i have to pay it. This is not fair, i am no longer a customer of theirs. I called almost 2 months ago to make a service appointment for my furnace. Deb was very nice and scheduled me for this week. I just received a text (the week of my appointment) canceling my service because apparently I need to have placed 4 oil deliveries from them to also get service from them. Absolutely no where is this policy listed on their website as of today. (Hopefully that changes) ​​and when I asked them to honor their commitment the response i got was "that's what happens when you buy from other companies". I've since called 4 other places all of which are booked completely. Had I known this policy ahead of time I would have complied or made an appointment somewhere else months ago when people had openings. So buyer beware! I don't know the quality of their oil work, but I can tell you about their values as a company. I have contacted their office multiple times about their trucks using my street, which is clearly marked as a no through trucking road, as a shortcut on an almost daily basis. There's no need for them to do it, it is illegal, and it would take maybe a minute to go the correct way. The woman who answers the phone says that she has told George about this several times and he just doesn't care, "George does what he wants to do. " If his company cares so little about the communities that he serves, about the safety of his drivers and the people on their routes, that he can't even return a phone call, or be concerned that his drivers are breaking state transportation laws, I can only imagine what kind of shortcuts and liberties they take with their work. Save yourselves the headache and use a more reputable company. I can only imagine the level of customer service you would receive if you called with a complaint. read more

George's Oil has been wonderful to work with. We had the unfortunate situation of buying a home with an ill maintained boiler. Within the first year we had a couple of service calls and eventually had to have a new boiler installed. We arrived home at 2am from vacation to a house that was 40 degrees. First thing in the morning we called George's Oil for help. It was a Sunday in February and outside temperatures were dipping into the single digits. Within a couple of hours, a technician arrived to try to fix it. We got the news that it couldn't be repaired this time and first thing Monday morning, George got our new furnace ordered. It was installed on Tuesday. Because of George's quick service, we were able to avoid any broken pipes. I highly recommend George's Oil. read more

I would do zero stars if I could. George's Oil serviced our oil burning furnace in March when we bought our house. We used the heat once or twice before having the burner inspected in May by another company who was delivering oil to us. That company refused to fill our burner because it had a cracked heating exchange and was unsafe for use. Due to the cracked exchange, carcinogenic gases were being pumped into our home. When we called George's Oil to have someone come out to the house to look at the burner our call was never returned. We continued calling and leaving repeated messages until July with no returned calls. Finally in July, I called using a different number and left a message saying I had a question about an oil burning furnace. I received a call back the next day- coincidence? No, I'd say the office was ignoring our calls. When we finally got George on the phone, he asked what we wanted him to do about it. We requested that he come out and take a look at the furnace, one that his employee had signed off on and dated with a service tag saying it was fully serviced and inspected. He hung up on us. So much for quality service and honesty like his website states. It also says when you call you talk to George, never the secretary. This did not hold true. The website also states, "So if there ever is a problem, you will talk to the owner to resolve any issues or problems". There was no resolution. No matter how many calls were made we were ignored. This is not how any professional does business. A mistake was made when the inspection occurred but instead of making it right George's Oil tried to brush it under the rug. We have since purchased a new system through a new company and we will never do business with George's Oil again. It is my hope that this review saves another customer from having to go through this painful process with no results from a dishonest man and company. I expect we are not the first customers to have an issue like this and I'm sure we won't be the last either. Reconsider your decision before going with George's Oil. Thanks for making us spend $8,000 that we never should have had to spend. Hope it was worth the lawsuit we will be bringing now that we finally have heat again read more

I like George's Oil I have never had an issue with them. George is a very nice guy and have never had an issue with anyone that works for him. Oil deliveries have always been within 24 hours of my call. I've been using them for about 4 years now they do a tune up every year for me and have never had an issue with my furnace. George's Oil's phone does not seem to work in the middle of January, so I sent an email in the early morning. Company took until that night to respond, just to say they were not accepting new customers, even though in the same email they acknowledged that I had purchased oil from them before. Not great. Pretty good oil prices, but terrible service. I never got call backs and hat to keep calling for two months to get in contact with someone at the business. I recommend someplace else as there are way to many oil companies around for you to deal with bad service. 2/5 because the prices are good. read more

Great prices, great service. George is reliable and consistent. Very nice guy too. Great emergency services (which we have used). Serviceman went out of his way for us to find a part on a weekend at that. Oil is always delivered with in 25-48 hours of calling. Sometimes even same day delivery if they are nearby. All drivers I have encountered are very nice. Only complaint is that they leave black smudge marks on our white fence gate and sometimes forget to close said gate. No biggie though: Overall though I highly recommend these guys. Wish they had a propane service ----I would totally use them for that as well. read more

Recommending you steer clear of George's Oil out of Franklin MA. We purchased a full tank from him almost two years ago and now need a refill. We have an extremely efficient burner so we are blessed. We are down to a low level and called to schedule a delivery. The admin in the office confirmed a delivery for the next day. Day of delivery arrived but instead of seeing the oil truck we received a call from the office to say the owner refused to deliver because it's been more than a year since we ordered. Essentially they are firing us as a customer because they believes we have jumped from one company to another in the interim time. This is a terrible customer relations move. I was going to hire them to do maintenance work on our burner this year but that is no longer going to happen. I'm writing on yelp to document how this company has let us down, inferred we are liars and I now advise anyone and everyone not to use this company in the future. read more
