5 stars for Paul the man who bought George's donuts from George and runs the Twinsburg location. The morning of my wedding I was supposed to pick up 16 dozen donuts from the Aurora location there was a mix up and they were closed when I got there. I called the Twinsburg location to see if they could help me get in touch with the Aurora location. They are not associated with one another but Paul went above and beyond and was even willing to make me fresh donuts and reach out to his friend at a different place to help to make sure I got my donuts prior to my reception. That right there is a great guy. It wasn't his store/business that messed up my order, he owed me nothing but was willing to go above and beyond. I would recommend doing business at the George's donuts in Twinsburg to anyone because this is the type of person you want to do business with a person that cares about helping other people. Luckily the original order was able to get straightneed out and made in time for the reception but this guy was willing to help me and go above and beyond and that says alot. It has been well over a week since I have visited George's Donuts and I can't stop thinking about it! I got the doughnut holes/ bites (?) I don't remember what they were called but they were SO GOOD. I'm not normally a glazed donut fan but these were so light with a bit of a crisp crunch. I was almost reminded of a funnel cake with the chew, crunch and sticky sugar glaze. If you're a long-time fan of George's Doughnuts, you were probably saddened and shocked when it changed owners. Your next thought was probably "Will the donuts still be the same?", right? Read on: I was there last Sunday. Yeah, they're open Sundays now, so that's awesome. I bought a variety of raised donuts when I was there (glazed, iced, filled). I looked around for a minute. First, the negatives. 1. There's a couch in the dining area, and it seemed weird. 2. The glazed donuts had slightly less glaze than they used to. Positives: 1. They're open Sunday! 2. Aside from slightly less glaze, I really couldn't tell a difference in taste, appearance, or mouthfeel. Still the same amazing product. Overall: It's essentially the same George's Doughnuts we all know and love. If my biggest gripe is the addition of a couch, that should tell you something. THIS WAS THE BEST GLAZED DONUT I'VE EVER HAD. I don't actually know why it was so good. But I realize now I've been eating crappy donuts my whole life, now I feel like I just found out Santa isn't real. I like to sleep in, so I, therefore, ignored all the Yelp reviews that told me to get there at the crack of dawn. Luckily, when I visited at 11 am, they still had a handful of donuts left, but otherwise, the cases were completely empty. The gal helping me was super nice and kindly boxed up what was left. She then gave me a copy of their menu and walked me through how to place an order ahead of time for pick-up (heck yes). These donuts were so delicious that I think of donuts differently. They have a great, thick cake consistency that isn't a completely overwhelming sugar rush. The glazed really was excellent, and my friend was super happy with her strawberry filled donut. These are phenomenal donuts. You have to get there early in the morning though. The old saying, the early bird gets the worm is true here. 10 am is too late. I got there by 7:30 one day and the the trays were emptying and new trays were coming. I wish they were open on Sundays. I'm not always around on Saturday. The flavors are top notch and the donuts are large with the perfect texture. I have to thank my surrogate dad who has since passed for introducing me to this great place. The staff is very friendly and prices are reasonable. I would suggest getting up and being there before 6 am.
