If you are going to a show this is about the only quick casual place around. Well, semi-quick on some show nights. They don't have enough staff and usually there is one order taker/bartender no matter how long the line gets. We waited 25 minutes to order recently. The food is fine, the cocktails are better. Is it overpriced? It's less overpriced than everything else with in walking distance. The drinks are definitely cheaper than from the bars inside the venues. read more

I eat here before every show at Segerstrom Center for the Arts - and that means I have eaten here 10+ times and counting! The food here is solid - delicious. I particularly like their flatbreads and sweet potato fries. Burger is also a solid choice but remember to order fries, it doesnt come with any. My complaint about George's is the wait time. I have had THREE times where food has taken way too long to come out and this matters a LOT if you have a show to catch. Most recently, I arrived about 40 minutes before the show only to be told by the bartender that orders were taking 30+ min to come out, which meant no time to eat before getting inside for the show. Another time my food came out but left me only about 10 minutes to eat before the show so i had to throw some out. I typically arrive to George's at least an hour before showtime to ensure food will be ready in time - less than that and it is a risk (sometimes fine sometimes not) so plan accordingly! I also came here to eat before the free showing of Rocky Horror this weekend. I waited an hour in line just to order but thankfully my food only took about 5 minutes to come out. Drinks here are GREAT - the passionfruit martini is my favorite ($18). Bartenders are super nice and helpful. Ambiance is chill, relaxed, and comfortable. Outside only but they have lights and heaters. read more

Great place to stop for a quick bite and drink before an event! My sister ordered a club sandwich and it was huge with fluffy bread and a ton of toppings inside. An employee named Freddy also made our experience great with his upbeat attitude and friendly demeanor! The servers are nice and friendly. However, the food is way overpriced. The burgers or sandwiches don't include fries or a side at $12+. A Caesar salad is also over $10, and that's without any protein. I added protein, and the chicken was so dry it was barely edible. There was also a piece of ice in the salad. It's nice to have an option to eat something before a show, and it can be fun to watch the preshow activities. But it's not good value given the other options in the area. read more

I was excited to see that they reopened George's, but it should have stayed closed. The food, which used to be very good, is a shadow of itself. This is now overpriced cafeteria food. When you look at the pictures of their food on Yelp, they are all almost 3-4 years old (when the food was good). I used to come here for their delicious burgers and terrific salads. I recently had their burger and it does not taste or look the same. I also had a salad, but again not even close to the prior version. With so many other options in the area, I cannot recommend this place anymore. Maybe they will improve, but so far, not so good. read more

Not sure who was using blowers and sweeping near our table while we were eating, but it was annoying AF. During dinner time?! At any rate, this was a good choice for right before we went and saw CATS at the Segerstrom Center. There aren't any kids menus, but they do offer a burger in addition to a veggie burger that younger kiddos could split. They sliced the burger I ordered for our toddlers. There were plenty of to-go type condiments on the side of the bar (mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, salt, etc.). We ordered a side of fries that they also seemed to enjoy. I loved my salad! I had the "Jolly Green Chop" ($8) with added roasted salmon (+$5). It comes with "poached asparagus, grilled broccolini, persian cucumber, romanesco, shaved brussels sprouts, dinosaur kale, kohlrabi, english celery, roasted zucchini, baby artichoke, sweet peas, [and] green goddess dressing." Also, I really enjoyed my macchiato ($3). As the bartender stated, it's not made like a typical "Starbucks macchiato." Um good, 'cause I don't want that. Ha! If you're an Intelligentsia fan, note that all of their coffee and espressos are made with "freshly roasted Intelligentsia coffee beans." Sometimes a French dip is just a French dip. Emphasis on the just. Now... it was a tasty French dip, so I'm giving four stars, but for $16 some sides or garnish would have been nice. At least a pickle spear? This was... just a sandwich and au jus. On paper. On a metal tray. That you pick up from the counter. Given the location, you could do worse than a $16 sandwich, and that's worth noting. But I also think they could have made it seem more with a minimum of effort. Some spring mix with a drizzle of vinaigrette? A pickle? After tax and tip it ran me just over $20. But it was a tasty sandwich. read more

I have visited George's before but just for a quick pre-show drink, so I was glad to finally order some food this last visit! We arrived at 5:50pm (on a 7:30pm performance night). It was perfect timing to snag happy hour pricing on our drinks and place an order before the rush! Our party of three enjoyed the house chardonnay, fried pickles and each one of us ordered a different salad (chop, cobb, and arugula I don't remember the offical menu names). The salads were really very good and huge! For a bill around $50+, 3 glasses of wine, 3 large salads and an appetizer I thought it was worth it, especially the convenience of being literally steps from the theater. The seating area is great, a mix of high tops and low tops, and even umbrellas with heating lamps for cooler evenings. It really livens up the pre-show atmosphere at Segerstrom. We will definitely be returning to enjoy George's for other events and pre-show bites! read more

Quick review: Great food, served quickly, at a reasonable price. We had 4:30 dinner reservations at Leatherby's and were prepared to pay a chunk of change for a nice dinner. When our dinner did not arrive by 6:00, our party left as the performance was to begin at 6:30. My wife and I were starving so we tried the little outdoor cafe right outside of Leatherby's...we didn't care if we were late for the performance. After explaining our situation to the gal at George's she was very apologetic...I did not know the two establishments were related. She offered us a complimentary glass of wine and ensured us our food would be out as quickly as possible. Within 5 min, she delivered the food to our table (you normally go pick it up yourself.). A+ service Food: -Fries w/ house aioli $2.75 - fries were perfect. -Soup $5.50 - Chicken tortilla. Wife said it was the best she has had. -Short Rib Grilled Cheese $8.00. What a great combination of ingredients: short rib, gruyere, apricot jam The next time we are at the Segerstrom Center for a performance, George's cafe will be on our itinerary. Oh, and by the way, we only missed the opening song of the musical, which was "Come from Away" - awesome musical, but that belongs in a diffferent review :) read more

I was attending a show at the OCPAC, and didn't have a chance to eat before I got there. I was almost resigned to having a bag of chips from the concession inside, but noticed the cafe setup around the corner from the box office. In about 30 minutes, I was able to have a nice sandwich (only $8.50) and a cocktail and still make it in when the 5 minute bell was sounded. The sandwich itself was good (hot chicken sandwich) and my buddy had a steak melt which he liked quite a bit (don't recall what it was named on the menu). The sandwiches don't come with fries, so you need to tack that on if you want a side, but at around $10 for a good sandwich and a side, it is a very reasonable option for a bite for a captive audience. I don't know if they bring out the heaters in the winter, but I'd be very willing to pop in next time I am seeing a show here. read more

I love that this little outdoor bar and eatery is in the middle of the Segerstrom theatres. I went to watch the Alvin Ailey production and was really hungry. We grabbed a burger, short rib grilled cheese sandwich, and some hot chocolates. The burger and the sandwich were really good. Not too overpriced either! The hot chocolates were meh... They were cold and not very flavorful! But I'd definitely recommend the short rib grilled cheese sandwich. It's piping hot, crunchy, and gooey! Visited here before a 19:30 show at the Segerstrom center - the Center 360 is tucked under a curved outdoor stairway, feels really classy with all of the incredible architecture of Segerstrom. It was a little chilly that day with a breeze, and the bar seats and tables with heat lamps were quite populated but also cozy. You line up once you're ready to order - we went for the tuna sandwich (a tuna *salad* sandwich) and a burger with fries, and a sparkling rose for me. We get a buzzer and sit down to be called when the food is ready. The rose was delicious. Large portions! And the fries are fragrant and lovely. The bread is grilled well with a very audible crunch, lovely with the tuna. Could use more salt maybe but still a very delicious sandwich - and the prices, while $$$, are still more affordable than the high end dining inside the concert hall building, and in a relaxed place before you head in for your show. This place doesn't market themselves as having vegan options so I was relieved when I found out they had something I could eat besides fries. The Tree Hugger was delicious, I loved the VioLife cheese and the housemade sauce. It's right by the concert hall so it's extremely convenient if you're going to a show. I had the chance to check out Center 360 last weekend when I was at Segerstrom for a show. I don't usually eat at the theater because the prices are fairly inflated for what you get and I was right. I ordered an Old Fashioned which was poorly made for $12. The sweet potato fries were a modest $5 and was a rather filling, if not large portion. They had me pay at the register and gave me a buzzer. The drink was made right away and my food buzzed me to the front a minute or so later. The fries were great. My only issue was that it can be super windy and I would have liked to have been able to take it inside to enjoy. There are signs stating that you cannot bring in outside food or drinks, but you can buy food and drinks inside. I understand for outside vendors but it doesn't make sense if you're not promoting your own food and beverages. The plaza is pleasant with the water fountains and spacious venue. The architecture is one of the best things about the Segerstrom Center. I'll definitely be back for shows and I might even stop in for a drink. read more

I visited Center 360 on the grand opening day of the new plaza, so I'm sure they're still working out the kinks, but just based on my experience on that day... it didn't leave a very good impression, which is a shame, as I'm a season ticket holder and find myself at Segerstrom often and I was excited to see a new eatery in that vicinity to try out. We arrived in the afternoon and the lines weren't long and there was plenty of seating available. They made people stand in a line in order to order both food and/or drinks, instead of randomly going up to the bar to order like a traditional bar. I thought this was to keep things organized, but the guy that we gave our order to didn't input the order himself and instead verbally passed on the order to other random bartenders/servers, which led to lots of confusion. My friend and I ordered separately. He told my friend's order to one server and mine to another. My friend ended up being charged more that what she ordered and my food order never went in and instead I was charged for my drink and my friends drink, a drink that she had already paid for herself right before me. We didn't realize any of this at first, as we weren't given a receipt of any kind. When I was waiting for my food for quite some time, I went back up to the bar to find out what happened and eventually we found out about the whole mess. Instead of being apologetic about it, the server had a very nonchalant attitude and made an excuse about how it was their first day and so basically they should've been given a pass is the impression I was given. He told me that he had to charge my card again for my missing food order that wasn't put in even though I was charged for my friend's extra drink that I didn't order. When I questioned him about it, he kept trying to insist he needed to charge me without explaining what he'd do about the extra charge for the drink. I was trying to ask him if he was going to void the charge or what... eventually he went to talk to his supervisor and he told the server to just input my food order without charging me since the price was similar. If the server handled the situation a bit better, I wouldn't have been left in such a bad mood. The food eventually came out and the salad was okay. I thought the meat in my Skirt Steak Salad was yummy and flavorful and being a blue cheese fan, I loved the hint of blue cheese throughout the salad. I didn't care for the croutons and the dressing was just okay as well. The french fries were pretty basic and the aioli didn't do much for me either. My friend thought the same about the meal she ordered. She also tried it a second time recently and she said she wasn't impressed the second time either. The cocktails on the otherhand are well-made. I feel like they have a good balance of the alcohol and other ingredients. Overall, I probably won't go out of my way to visit this place again. At least not for food. read more

We tried the onion rings (not on the menu) and they were great! Not crowded either on the Sunday evening performance. Recommend even for a more substantial bite before a show. I've been coming to shows at SCFTA since high school. So excited to visit for the first time since the Argyros Plaza went in and Center 360 anchors the space. I'll be honest, I was expecting basic theater food but this place surprised me with gourmet selections at a reasonable price. We ordered a hamburger, chicken noodle soup, brussels sprouts, sweet potato fries, and regular fries, and drinks. The food was fresh and delicious -perfect for a bite before a show. The only downside was the Waiter working at the bar with brown hair and mustache. He was rude and condescending to us and another pair. Was extremely surprised by my experience here last night. Chose George's Cafe looking for a place to eat prior to our night out at the Segerstrom for Madame Butterfly. We were looking for dining which would not break the bank. I looked up George's website and in advance and checked out their menu. It looked like it fit our budget and was very casual. Once we got to The Segerstrom we noticed that it was all outdoor dining. It was a cooler evening but we are relieved to see the outdoor heating they have available and in use. Again skeptical as it was no waitress service and it was ordered at the bar. My friend and I split the cob salad and also the club sandwich and I can't tell you how much we loved it. My compliments to the chef!! I would give it a 10 out 10! The portions were very generous and the secret sauce that went into the sandwich was to die for. You could tell that this meal wasn't just thrown together. I look down the table as it was a joint table for others and everybody's food looked fabulous. Can't wait to go back here, I would go back even if it wasn't for an evening at the Segerstrom. read more

This restaurant is a Patina Group, which usually offers great quality food. Center 360 is outside the Performing Arts Center. We attended the Nutcracker this evening and decided to have a bite to eat and a drink before the performance. Truly disappointed and disgusted about their food. Nothing less than a mall food court quality. The food was cold and simply bad quality, their drinks were just as bad. I order Baylis and coffee, what I got was a cup o bitter cold coffee with no apparent flavor of any liquor in it, but I did pay $13.00 for it. Outrageous prices for terrible food. Never again!!! Beware, just because is South Coast Plaza you will get the high pricing but they certainly skimped on the quality. read more
