This is the restaurant located inside Nordstrom in Fashion Island, and we went there pretty much for its convenience. Fashion Island is quite spread out, so if you are hungry while shopping at Nordstrom and don't want to waste a lot of time walking around to grab lunch, Bazille is indeed a great choice. Food was okay, although nothing impressive or outstanding. For $20, the turkey club sandwich was made with good ingredients, including freshly roasted turkey breast and not processed deli meat. It was accompanied with plenty of lettuce, tomato, bacon, and thick slices of avocado. The penne Bolognese was tossed with Italian sausages and bell peppers in a tomato cream sauce. The sauce was okay, again, nothing outstanding or memorable. However, we didn't like the taste and texture of the chicken meatballs. I had originally thought they were beef meatball, but I guess I didn't look at the menu carefully enough. I don't think I've seen or even heard of chicken meatballs being served with Italian pasta. read more

It's never overly crowded, so it feels comfortable and perfect for catching up with friends or coworkers over lunch. I always go for the French Dip Tri-Tip -- it's consistently delicious and very satisfying. I paired it with a Caesar salad this time, though the fries are just as tempting. Located inside Nordstrom 1st floor, this restaurant is cute and a great place for good quality food and a glass of wine. Ordered the crab bisque cup of soup which was rich and delicious, we also got the Nordstrom burger, and the salmon Niçoise salad. Everything tasted really good, service was great. The only thing I wish is that the restaurant had lattes and speciality coffees that would be perfect. But other than that, great place for food and wine! read more

I came here for a quick lunch. The quality of the food is good and the presentation is also good but it's only about a 3 1/2 to 4 star good. The Caesar salad that came with the French dip Sandwich is not really Cesar salad. The French dip sandwich was good but not great. The calamari was tasteless, small and over crusty. The chicken noodle soup was the best thing that I had here today. I'm giving a four star instead of a three star, but I would like to have given a five star because of one reason. The service was excellent. The young man that attended to us, Austin, did a perfect job. He was attentive, but not overbearing, he had a pleasant attitude which was sincere. The staff upon entering through paying my bill has always been pleasant and food is tasty, plus well priced. For a small restaurant tucked away into the corner of Nordstrom, I honestly did not have high expectations for the food. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of every dish I tried. My family and I started off with 4 appetizers that we all shared: Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts, Crisp Calamari, Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata, and Artichoke Spinach Dip. Each was very flavorful and the portions were decent; I would recommend all of them. Especially impressive was the Artichoke Spinach Dip, which could easily serve 3-4 people. We all ordered the 6 oz filet mignon for our main course, which comes with sautéed spinach and salt & pepper-seasoned fries and a side of kalamata olive aioli. Usually a 6 oz filet would be too small for me, but with the appetizers and other sides it was a solid amount of food that left me pretty satisfied. I ordered the filet rare, and it came out perfectly. It came served with a calabrian chili butter melted over top. I did not actually taste the chili component but the butter suited the filet well regardless. I would definitely order the filet again; the quality of the meat was comparable to something you would find at a nice steakhouse. For dessert, I had a warm skillet chocolate chip cookie served with vanilla ice cream topped with chunks of chocolate and caramel. This item not actually on the menu, but our waiter was kind to mention it to us. Someone else in my party ordered the house-made crème brûlée, which I did have a chance to try. I would highly recommend both desserts. Overall, the quality of the food at Bazille is excellent, and it's definitely good if you're looking for an upscale dining experience that leans more on the casual side. read more

Love dining here with my toddler because their kids meals options are healthy! Chicken breast, salmon with veggies and potatoes. It's nice to see something other than chicken fingers and burgers. Also love their daily soups and a huge fan of their salads. It's a bit hidden as it's near the parking area of Nordstrom but has both indoor and outdoor seating. I have never experienced a wait which is great when every other restaurant is packed. They also have a stone fire oven for fresh pizzas. I have not tried one yet but they look yummy and authentic. I've dined quite a few times and always an excellent experience. read more

I've been going to Nordstrom Cafe for years but this particular location is a bit overpriced for what they offer. I understand that they changed the menu to give it more of an upscale vibe, but the food quality taste the same to me. I spent about 24 dollars for 2 grilled cheese kids meal sandwiches and was really surprised. At southcoast, it cost about 5 dollars for the same meal. The meal comes with the sandwich a side of fruit and a drink. Since it is covid, I ordered my meal to go. Hopefully they compare any similar meals to other Nordstrom cafes and take that into consideration. read more

My husband and I have always appreciated Nordstrom restaurants for their superb dishes and excellent service in an often Zen-like environment. In fact, we have experienced quite a few around the USA, much to our delight. Today, we took a chance and brought part of our extended family--25 members in all--to Bazille in Newport Beach (on the store's first level). Nordstrom: You continue to impress us with your personable, professional, and perfect service. Even though we made our reservation (originally for ten) last-minute the day before and kept adding to our party until after we arrived, you remained calm and patient. (It's how my family sometimes rolls: We never know exactly what the final count will be, and it takes a professional staff to accommodate patrons with such care and consideration.) Our waiter Matthew (July 30, 2023) and the staff and manager who supported him were outstanding at bringing our individual meals (after drinks and appetizers) in a timely manner; every dish was as tasty as it was well-presented. The service was excellent. I ordered the French dip sandwich with fries. The fries were loaded with rosemary! I absolutely hate rosemary and I have never seen them on fries before. My sandwich was next to the fries so the sandwich tasted like rosemary. They were kind to replace them with regular fries but they still had some rosemary on them. The bloody Mary was extremely spicy. I will try it again but order something else. read more

It really bothers me when I have to write a negative review. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and French onion soup. While the service was good, the food was a disappointment. The French onion soup was extremely salty. I alerted my awesome server, and he told me that they're aware of it. If they were aware, they should have warned me and take it off the menu. The Caesar salad came to me without the chicken. My server apologized for the mixup. So, be warned....do not order the onion soup, and as for the Caesar, it was just ok. A hidden gem of restaurant; it's perfect if you want to sit down and have a nice meal while on a budget. A weird thing to say I suppose considering the location. My sister and I split the pizza special (an olive oil-based pizza with cheddar, leaks and potatoes) and the avocado club. Both were tasty and something I would again. The pizza was thin and crispy but soft on top. The club had a generous amount of roasted turkey and avocado, with an even amount of aioli. The real star was the thin fries seasoned with rosemary; so much flavor, I didn't need the complimentary extra aioli that they had provided on the side (which was still a nice touch). Excellent, team based service. Cilantro lime chicken tacos were fairly good but extremely little. Kung pao brussel sprouts came out at room temp and were unimpressive. Told my server and he was happy to bring out a new, hot serving. Much better and changed my opinion of the dish. Liked the sauce and the chicken that was part of the dish. My son had a crispy chicken sandwich which was really good and his fries had a nice raspberry? dipping sauce. Star of the meal, however, was the bread pudding. Restaurant looks the same but different cuisine concept. The menu is more upscale and it's geared towards the modern palate that's familiar with fusion-style entrees. I had the pan seared chicken with grapes, almonds, greens and cheese. It's pretty good - my new go-to. The hangar steak is mighty tasty too. Discover this place. You won't regret it. I went to Nordstrom Cafe which is called Bazille, they had so many available tables but they did not want to serve me because they said " we are short staff " which does not make sense. Then I said OK, let me take a French onion soup to go! I was there waiting for a cup of soup for 40 minutes, when I went home to eat it, it was half empty and they had charged me $8:50 for it, plus there was no cheese on top of it, which makes this soup very special. Went last Monday at 2pm with out of town guests and was totally embarrassed. Many empty tables but hostess greeted us with "cant seat u now because our cooks are swamped". What? I asked to then sit outside on patio and she said, "Okay but you'll have to wait at least 15 min for a waiter." We sat outside anyway.
