Gentle Grill is truly a gem. It's the only fully vegan restaurant nearby, and it's so much more than just great food. The owner (who always seems to be there) is incredibly kind and welcoming. He has gone out of his way to encourage my children to be loving, respectful, and kind to one another, and those interactions mean more to us than he probably realizes. It reflects the compassion and family values that drew us to veganism in the first place. The food is absolutely delicious. As a longtime vegan, it's been so much fun getting to enjoy foods I thought I'd never have again, like a pulled "pork" sandwich and an amazing Reuben. Everything we've tried has been flavorful and satisfying. The restaurant is always spotless, the staff is consistently friendly, and my kids get excited every single visit because they know those gigantic cookies are waiting for them. So when I have to pass by or through or go to temecula..or if people even mention Temecula, my mind wanders here. Stuck in the middle of a strip mall, excellent and friendly service awaits...every single time... You cant go wrong with Pastrami Sandwiches or Reubens or Gyros...so why not get them all. And for breakfast, we went for the Avo Toast. Ever go to places that advertise Avocado toast and its like $12 and you get once slice, no egg? Yeah this is not one of those places. Avo toast MUST be two slices and no disappointment here. My Gyro came with sweet potato fries. I dont even LIKE SPF typically but these were the bomb. We stopped at Gentle Grill while traveling from La Jolla to Riverside, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our day. The service was absolutely incredible. Jeanette took our order, but she was so much more than a cashier or host. She was constantly moving throughout the restaurant, making sure every guest was comfortable and had everything they needed. She patiently explained the menu when appropriate, answered questions with genuine enthusiasm, and you could tell she sincerely cared about every person who walked through the door. Her kindness and work ethic were truly impressive. The gentleman in the kitchen was equally welcoming, greeting regular customers by name and chatting with them as they came in. It gave the restaurant such a warm, family-friendly atmosphere and made it obvious that this is a place where people love to return. The food was fantastic! I ordered the ground "beef" tacos, and my sister had the Impossible Burger. Both were absolutely delicious. We also tried the no-bake chocolate hazelnut cake, and it was to die for! Jeanette thoughtfully suggested keeping it refrigerated until we finished our meal so it would be perfect when we were ready for dessert--such a small gesture that really reflected the exceptional level of care she provides. I can't say enough good things about Gentle Grill. Between the outstanding quality of the food and the exceptional customer service, this restaurant truly exceeded our expectations. What a hidden vegan gem. We have been wanting tom come through for a long time, so we made the time on Friday to do so and we were not disappointed. Let's start with the overall look of the restaurant and the service. We were greeted when we walked in. Which is such a small thing to do but honestly you really don't see it anymore, so I appreciated it. The store is clean, and pretty IG worthy with the greenery and neon signs. We ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich, the Rueben sandwich, poutine fries and a chocolate cookie. Both sandwich's came with a side. So we did Sweet potato fries and a side salad. They serve Stubborn sodas so you know I had to get a pineapple cream and he got the vanilla cream. Let's get to the sandwich's. The Reuben was literally SO delicious. The BBQ sandwich was ok, in comparison. Nothing crazy. Probably could use some spice or a longer soak in the BBQ sauce but still delicious. The poutine fries were amazing! The gravy was absolutely delicious and the little bacon bits were chefs kiss. The sweet potato fries were on point too. The cookie I saved for home since it's literally as big as your head. Very delicious vegan food. We don't have many options out here and this place makes is very convenient! They take pride in their foods presentation, and service. We've been coming here for the past year or so and it never disappoints. Their food is delicious, their desserts are delicious. A definite must try. One downfall though, they close sometimes wioit notice. We did go today and a sign int he door apologizing and stating that they were having refrigeration issues. They have a wide variety of options from appetizers to bowls to sandwiches. I ordered the gyro since this is something hard to find vegan. It was really good. I've been here over a handful of times. I've had the poutine fries, chicken sandwich, beyond cheeseburger, gyro, macho burrito, lentil soup, fries...a pretty decent amount of things. On this visit, I saw they had a breakfast burrito I think it was, so I gave it a try. Asked for sour cream. This is one of those places you really gotta specify things with, because they didn't include the sour cream in the burrito at all. So the handy food that you can usually just hold in one hand, while you maybe drive with the other hand? I had to try and maneuver the burrito into the little tube of sour cream. Maybe it would've worked out better spreading it around with a knife? Nah, just gotta remember to really be particular with the folks here. Otherwise, the burrito was pretty dry. Most of the other items I've enjoyed for the most part. The poutine fries can be hit or miss, depending on how salty they are. I really enjoy the Beyond burger, but I hardly have met a burger or chocolate chip cookie I didn't like. They have a decent sized interior dining area with some tables outside. I went with some vegan friends on a Sunday. Friendly staff who made sure I ordered something without peanuts because I'm allergic. My choices were somewhat limited though, and I decided to get the teriyaki bowl. I thought my food was just ok. My friends all liked their dishes though. Also got to try the cauliflower buffalo bites - those were good. Just don't know if I'd recommend the teriyaki bowl, as it was a little bland. There was plentiful indoor and outdoor seating. If you choose to dine in, they will bring the food to you but you bus your own table. Everything is served in single use boxes. If I wasn't allergic to peanuts I think I would've enjoyed the food much more, but nevertheless I am still extremely grateful for the staff being cautious and accommodating about my allergy! read more

We have been here a few times, and the last time I was here was more than four months ago. With that being said, I just want to mention that Vegan food is expensive, period. No matter how you try to cut corners, to be able to afford a vegan lifestyle can cost you a pretty penny. There are only a handful of options Vegans have to choose from that are "full vegan kitchens". God bless their souls for serving vegan foods...but at the same time, I want my moneys worth. I paid $45 for two meals, no drinks. We decided to forgo the tip asking cash register and leave a $5 cash tip. The portions are small, and I always wondered why I never did a review until now. The last time I was there I accumulated enough points to subtract $8 from my meal (four months ago), and yesterday...they put up a paper sign saying you cannot retrieve your points. The owner had to come and explain to me why, but you'd think 4 months was enough time to resolve this? That's ridiculous! It's not about the $8 or changing systems, instead of standing in my face explaining your inefficiency...why not just credit my account manually, instead of blaming electronics and offering me a cookie? He just wanted my money. He didn't care about me. My food didn't taste good when I sat down to eat it. I didn't like his whole take on it. Like I've said before, I can like or love your food... but what it comes down to is how you make me feel. Is it all about money? Is it about the passion behind you making the food? There was no connection yesterday. I wanted to love your food, but I see why I can't. I think you are doing it for the money. read more

On my very first visit to a vegan restaurant and trying a vegan meal, the experience couldn't have been better! I ordered several things to taste and was not disappointed! The gyro bowl was exceptional! Tiki sauce, you can put that stuff on everything! The bread on my brisket sandwich paired perfectly with the meat and bbq sauce. The service! Beyond stellar. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and educated me on how they make their meats, in-house not lacking in natural ingredients and flavor.
