She was attentive, compassionate and also very knowledgeable about the process of getting the right kind of dental treatment for me. She asked me all the right questions and offered great recommendations, which helped me feel like I was in good hands. There's ALWAYS A PROBLEM because they are understaffed and new staff is overwhelmed. The lab in my case NEVER GETS THE FIRST ORDER CORRECT. I had to wait almost 4 months for a new denture and when the 2nd final one came back,it still wasn't right and the Doctor and Assistant gave me attitude like it was my fault. FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE THAT WILL MAKE YOU WANNA CURSE THEM OUT. Also, the phones to the Corporate office are all rigged to go into voicemail and you cannot reach Corporate or Customer Care to state a complaint. I had my first appt with my new denturist today on Coburg Rd. He is taking over for Dr. Touskin. He took the time to make sure my issues were resolved and that I was happy with the results. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but he did take over for the denturist that recently retired. He really seemed to care about making me happy and comfortable. I'd been living with dentures I was not happy with, because of the way they looked, for about a year. Today he took the time to fix that issue and I'm very satisfied and greatful. I just had the worst experience I've ever had in a dental office. My hygienist name was Kristen. Her bedside manner was atrocious, she was incredibly arrogant and simultaneously dimwitted. She was incredibly sloppy while doing the procedure, dragging the hook across my gums. I've never had so much discomfort during an evaluation. I'll be filing a complaint with the state dental board. This person should not be working around other human beings. She would be better off shoveling manure where no one had to interact with her. read more

I have appreciated the Gentle Dental Eugene team. The front reception has always been kind to me and the last time I was there, they were able to get me in for a cleaning the same day I called, which was very much appreciated. I have seen three RDH's here and my top favorite RDH'S were Anne and April. I really appreciated the cleanings I received from all three hygienists and they all did a great job. I appreciated Anne and April especially for their chair side manner, showing and explaining the consent forms, paying attention to details that were important to me, and not fluoride shaming me when I chose not to have the varnish put on my teeth. I also appreciated Anne and April giving me time to ask questions about how I could improve my home care. The dentist has been friendly and helpful. Would absolutely not recommend. There is no communication between the doctor and scheduling staff. I went for a cleaning and exam (I expressed the importance of doing both in 1 appointment due to difficulty taking time off work). I get there and they say there's no time for both. I'll need two appointments. I made an appointment for a crown prep. I get there and they only scheduled me for a regular appointment and don't have time to do the 2 hour crown prep. appointment, etc... I will never go back. I was having a dental emergency involving excruciating pain,which ended up needing a prescription for antibiotics. I got there as soon as I could one morning and the ladies in the front were kind and patient with me, and even though I was in a lot of pain, their treatment of me brought a lot of relief. I was very nervous of what work would have to be done but as soon as I was seen by a dentist and we discussed some ways to deal with necessary dental work, I felt better seeing that they clearly know what they're doing! I've had terrible experiences with dentists before and I am so glad I can look forward to going to the dentist now that I'm in my late 30s. read more

Staff was nice. But the dentist who did one of my fillings messed up my tooth and when I tried to explain and get back into their office due to pain, because it's a Oregon health plan (OHP) they said it be a month out even though I was in pain. On top of that my OHP ran out because I make $20 bucks too much to be on it. They told me my insurance was no more and I said it shouldn't matter the dentist messed my tooth up he should still look at it and fix the problem he made in the first place. They told me no I would have to pay for X-rays and fixing of the filling again about $300. So they don't fix their mistakes instead they use out the OHP system to pay for their mistakes. No wonder the OHP system is being taken advantage of from all these dentists and probably doctors office too. Glad I didn't have them fix the other 3 cavities I had or my teeth really be all messed up. Going to go to a dentist now who actually knows what they are doing. read more

The dentist's are great this is the only reason I continue to go there. The office manager "Becky" is terrible. Last time I was there she wouldn't let me go back with my 11 year old during the appointment for the orthopedic surgeon. Even the other person in the waiting room was questioning what a solution would be and she told him it was none of their business. I called to schedule an appointment in early July 2021. They scheduled me for the end of September. Turned out it was just for x-rays. Then I would have to wait until March-April 2022 to get a cleaning and treatment. That is 10 MONTHS since my initial call! They didn't even let me see the doctor; it was either take your x-rays NOW or leave/stop wasting our time. When I tried to explain that it makes no sense for me to take x-rays for the cleaning that is going to take 7 months from now and I am not even sure I can wait that long, they just gave me this bewildered look like I am being a very difficult and unreasonable patient. My prior experience with dental care is that cleaning/treatment begins on the day you walk into a dentist's office, with x-rays on as needed basis. It's not that complicated. It shouldn't be. Not with Smile Keepers.... They would make you wait 3 months for an initial "exam," then 7 more months for the cleaning/treatment to begin. Who wants that? I have seen many dentists in my life in 3 different countries and have never experienced anything like this. I have had good and bad dentists... but a dentist that is impossible to meet unless you wait months and then have a full set of x-rays taken? That is the coldest and most unwelcome way to treat a new patient. The entire time I was at their office I couldn't help but think that this impression of being overbooked, flooded by all the people on OHP... is just that, an impression that they work hard to cultivate to mask how little work is actually done. When you think of a 3-month, 7-month, 10-month wait and what is actually being done in that time... NOTHING. Why make people wait months for just x-rays only to make them wait even more for actual treatment? At least have the honesty to tell new patients that it won't be 3 months but more like a year before you can get anything done. Chances are you'll be less overbooked and have fewer unhappy patients. Worst experience with any sort of doctor. First let me say that I have OHP and every time I go here to get the runaround is an absolute detriment to my finances and my health. I went in last April (2019) when I had a molar break suddenly. They determined it was not an emergency, that if it does become painful to call. So we did the whole new patient intake procedure instead. Told me my tooth would need to be reviewed by an oral surgeon at their Springfield location. and they scheduled me for a filling (a few weeks out) and a cleaning (6 months out). At my filling appointment asked about the oral surgeons review because i hadn't heard back from anyone. They told me they will call them and be in touch. Nothing. Realistically I was not in a lot of pain over this time so beyond asking them periodically about it I did not feel there was much I was able to do. Cleaning appointment 6 months from first visit, I asked again about the oral surgeon's recommendation on the broken tooth and am again told that they would have him call me. Well over the new year it had broken more and was becoming increasingly irritated and painful. So I call about an emergency as it says to on there website and I got a rather rude secretary telling me that Ive got about 15 minutes to get there before they stop taking emergencies. So I rushed down there only to be told they could see me but couldnt extract my tooth due to needing an oral surgeon. This is after nearly a year of asking them to take my tooth. Well, I called them what they are, and I went across the parking lot to Dr Jeffrey Jentzsch's dental office. The experience was night and day. They assured me they would have me feeling better by the end of the day and they fulfilled that promise. The kicker? It didnt require any surgery. It was a simple extraction and took about 5 minutes once the anesthetic took hold. As far as I can tell, Smile Keepers wanted to schedule me for as many non-extraction appointments in fear that once it is extracted they would no longer be of use and Id stop coming. Well, I am definitely not going anymore but additionally, my fiancée who was looking for a dentist also decided to become new a new patient at Dr Jeffrey Jentzsch's clinic. I cannot overstate how great of a staff they have working with them. So, to conclude: Save yourself the time and the toothache and SKIP SMILE KEEPERS and go straight to Dr Jeffrey Jentzsch's Dental Office right across the parking lot. read more

It seems they don't care about emergencies at all. I have been in pain for so long and they call me to cancel my appt. that I have waited for for a very long time. Rescheduled for 20 days later. I need that filling as it is killing me. And on the other side I hardly have a tooth left and it is killing my temple and ear. I hope I don't have poison in there, infection, in my head from it. I don't get it. I know the dentists take oaths. Why would they let me suffer? Maybe when I finally get in to have them do some work (all they did was xray and eval when I saw them as a new patient), I will be able to give a good review. But for now....I am suffering too much. :( And because of covid they had to push me so far out for the first appt, months, that I am now having to have an extraction for a tooth that might have otherwise been saved. #theydontcare UPDATE: Since I couldn't get in afterhour emergency, I called the office back and left a message and Hope called me this morning. She wanted move my appt to this coming Monday...5 days of more pain and agony. But then she got me in tomorrow after I complained. And she said the other scheduler that called to cancel and pushed me out 20 days "doesn't know how to move around appts". Ya think!? I do know that if a scheduler doesn't know something, CONSULT A TECH! My ENT called and said my ct of my sinuses are fine and that after I get my teeth fixed to call them to see if all the pain is gone. It isn't my sinuses, it is MY TEETH! I told her about the debacle and she couldn't believe it and was glad I fought for my life. read more

The dentists and hygienists are excellent and they do great work. However this is the worst run office I have ever experience. They have lost four appointments. I have called them again and again and they do not answer. They sometimes take a while before they can find the file of one of their patients. I am ready to bill them for the time and gas they wasted on appointments they lost or cancelled without informing us. Frankly, I would recommend to go somewhere else. read more

Worst experience I've had with any dental clinic. My first appointment was in September. They booked me out 8 months for a cleaning & about 3 months for cavities causing severe pain. I was told I needed 1 extraction. When I was having the extraction done, the dentist was complaining how difficult the tooth was to get to because another was in the way. He asked if he could take that one out too & I said no because I was never told anything was wrong with that one. I had complications and had to go back in which is when I was told I had another tooth that needed extracted (that no one told me about) so I had to have another extraction. It's been months now, neither extraction has healed & I still have swelling but the 3 times I went back I was told everything was fine (despite them telling me swelling should last 2 weeks tops). It took 3 months for them to finally find a crack in my tooth (after continuously saying nothing was wrong with it). I had a filling appointment, but when I called to confirm the time (9 days before the appointment) I was told my dentist no longer works there & I'd need to be scheduled out months. They should have called me the second my dentist stopped working there. On top of all this, they have the least efficient "waitlist" I've ever heard of. If you want or need a sooner appointment, they don't call you. They have you call every day at a specific time, which happens to be the time they rarely answer the phone for me (probably because everyone is calling at the same time). I will not be going back. I'd rather go literally anywhere else. This place does not care about their patients at all and it definitely shows. read more

Over the past year I have been to several dentists, trying to find the right one , that was professional and also made me feel comfortable due to my fear of getting dental work done. I have been using them since my first kid started seeing a dentist. Dr. Bergeson and nurse Kay have made the Dentist trips amazing and fun for my 4 kids .. And the ladies at the front desk are wonderful about quick easy scheduling and combing kids appointments so I don't make a ton of trips. I would recommend them to everyone. I saw Dr. Tramby, who was very good at explaining dental issues in a way that was easy to understand and offered several price points for treatments. My hygienist, Cindy, was gentle and not intimidating as they sometimes can be. Her room was warm and inviting and she gave good tips without being judgey. Wow! I have been to countless dentists, and this is the first dentist I have been to more than once. The front desk women are sweet, responsive, and professional. They always let me know when the soonest appointment is and their confirmation requirement is great so you can usually get in sooner than planned, which is rare with dentists. Dr. Webster and his assistant always make me feel comfortable and like I'm getting the best care possible. They have your health in mind which is how it should be. The hygienist is a sadist. She will say you need multiple appts for your cleaning when you never have needed more than one in the past. And be prepared to be in pain through the entire procedure. I went there 4 years ago and was tortured in the chair. I complained about her. Never went back. Our family has been getting great dental care at Smile Keepers in Eugene for the last 5 years. I have recommended this office to many families but never thought to review them on Yelp until now. As someone who went years without dental care, I was afraid of what I would hear when I got my first exam. Dr. Bergeson put me at ease and made a care plan to get me back on track. He and his assistant Kay have provided me with exceptional dental care and they are quite entertaining to boot! The absolute worse place I have ever been to. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I have been going there because they took ohp and I live close by. I started going there about 2 years almost. You know how you usually have two cleaning appointments a year. Well it took them three separate appointments over for one cleaning. I feel they are milking the insurance company. I thought it was just need but it was the same for my partner and others I have found out go there. I complained about some pain and they knew I had a cavity but of course it take 3 to 6 months to make an appointment. And no they did not fix my cavity when at the time could have been easy. Instead they had an appointment to look at it. And after that it took nearly a year for them to make an appointment by then my insurance ran out and they canceled the appointment I had. Seriously worse service ever! I ended up going to another dentist. Willamette dental had them fill my cavity which was borderline almost a root canal because my tooth started falling apart. And guess what they saw me right away within 24hrs! Not to mention I got my teeth cleaned and it was in one appointment not three! Even my new dentist was baffled by my experience. So save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Anywhere else would be better. Oh and next I will be contacting ohp and letting them know how they are running things there. Today my hygienist was Johanna, her easy going manner and conversation kept me comfortable during what we all know to be an unpleasant task. After not having insurance for over ten years, I was nervous about going to the dentist again, particularly considering that there is virtually no choice in where you go when you have the Oregon open health care plan, but never fear! Smile keepers will take excellent care of you. X-rays are done comfortably in the same room you are examined. Dr Lee then determined my dental needs and fully explained the plan of action to get my teeth and gums back to a healthy state by showing me my X-rays on a screen right in front of me. For those of you with children... There are always kids there when I go and I've never heard crying, the staff seems very competent in dealing with them and really seem to enjoy them....
