I am 21, in college, and needed something both professional and "my age" to fix my overcrowded teeth. Some years back I had multiple consultations with other orthodontists around Eugene, all of which either told me Invisalign was not an option for my case, that I would require jaw surgery, or that my treatment would take upwards of 3 years. I was defeated and frustrated. In a final last ditch effort, I scheduled a consultation with Chvatal. Upon first visit they were very welcoming, accommodating, and understanding of my situation. Brad ensured that we would be able to fix my overcrowded mouth in just over a year. Their payment plans were very reasonable (price is higher than others in town, though, but you get your money's worth). I would need to get two bottom teeth removed to fix my underbite, and from there a series of plastic trays would do the rest. Looking back, his timeline was exactly right. My original treatment last 9 months with 40 trays. Even after this first period, my smile and face had completely altered. After another short 4 months and 20 trays, I was sent off completely changed. Brad and his team instilled a new level of confidence in myself I didn't know possible. For that, I'm forever grateful. My case was fairly complex and wouldn't normally be completed so quickly. However, Brad graciously donated an Acceledent system to me, cutting my treatment time in half. He had no reason to do this for me other than out of the kindness of his heart. This is a strong testament of he and his crew's relationship with their patients. (Acceledents run at around $500 -- they are worth the purchase, I highly recommend!) Some things I will say is that this team can't read minds nor can they always know exactly what's going on in your mouth, so I found it was important to communicate about your treatment process. If trays aren't fitting perfectly/your teeth aren't tracking right/there are still gaps where there shouldn't be, say something! You pay a pretty penny for Brad's care but it is certainly worth it if you take advantage of the experience. I don't mean to be so long winded, but I wish I had read something like this while deciding on where to pursue Invisalign and what the process would be like. I have a completely different smile (and face) thanks to Chvatal Orthodontics. It's really worth that free consultation to see for yourself. I'll post before and after photos here later. Yes they totally changed my smile (specifically my teeth) which I love, but overtime it has had negative effects because it has messed with my jaw. I wish I could get my jaw fixed by them because they are the reason it shifted. Like I said everyone was really nice and kind, but it would be a 5 star review if I got a true smile that hadn't shifted my jaw overtime.

After multiple consultations we chose Dr. Gass for many reasons. Not only do we feel he is a knowledgeable orthodontist, but he was personable as well. He personally sat down with us, explained his treatment methods and offered an opportunity to ask questions. We didn't feel like our time in his office was an inconvenience. Dr. Gass offered informative answers as well as professional and personable conversation that put us at ease and helped make our decision to have him treat both of our children. In addition, Dr. Gass's staff both back of house technicians and front of house office staff are second to none. We are greeted by first names and always made to feel welcome. Our kids never complain about going to the orthodontist, they welcome the opportunity to see their favorite techs and catch up on the happenings between visits. That always makes my wife and I that much more comfortable with our decision. My son has completed his treatment and we couldn't be more pleased. His smile is constant and contagious. My daughter has about six months left. As excited as she is to get her braces off, we're almost saddened by the fact we will not being seeing Dr. Gass and his staff on such a regular basis. You can't tell people they are wrong for feeling the way you or your staff made them feel. Definitely going to keep looking for a better orthodontist for my son. After a change in dental insurance, resulting in a change in orthodontists, we discovered that there was irreversible damage to the roots of her four front, upper teeth as a result of the shoddy work done by Dennis Trammell. It's definitely a good thing we didn't go forward with the next wave of treatment proposed by him since it would have lead to a severe underbite and further damage that would have eventually led to tooth loss. She would have likely ended up with flippers for her front teeth at a very young age. It cost us thousands of dollars in shoddy work from Trammell that could have been devastating for my daughter. Unfortunately, I also had orthodontics done by Trammell during the same time frame and I now have trouble chewing my food. When I complained to him about my bite and told him that my dentist was appalled by the results, he replied "it looks good to me." Thousands of dollars later, my bite is way off and my dentist is attempting to help me correct it, although it looks like another round of orthodontics to correct the problems created by Trammell's work will be necessary.

No openings. Gentle Dental actually took the time to check with the dentists in the office to see who could squeeze me in. Turns out my procrastination/laziness will cause me to have some more dental work done but Dr. Andrews and the hygienist were helpful, attentive and everyone was extremely kind. I'd also like to give a shout out to the ladies at the front desk. The best customer service that I have experienced in a medical/dental setting. I highly recommend this location!

Last year I went in for an exam but it had been a few years since my previous cleaning and my teeth were in rough shape. The dentist wanted to remove 7 of my teeth! I was shocked and declined the removal. Instead I sought out other alternatives. I had each quadrant of my mouth "scaled" - a deep cleaning procedure that I've had done before. Then I got a water pic and started to up my daily maintenance. When I went back for my 6 month exam this year I received high praise on how good my teeth were and nobody said a thing about those 7 teeth still needing to be removed. Thanks to MYSELF I managed to save and retain all of my teeth! Then, just recently I started experiencing some pain in my gums. It felt like one of my wisdom teeth was trying to grow sideways out of my gums. After a week it hadn't really gotten better so I scheduled a short appointment just to have it checked out. The hygienist took an x-ray and then the dentist came in. He took a quick look and told me that it's not infected, just a small cut in my gums most likely from eating something sharp. He said it's healing fine and I don't need antibiotics. He then shocked me when he said "I recommend removing the wisdom tooth." Then the next thing I knew he was numbing my gums and preparing a shot. That's when I freaked out!!! I was on my lunch break and told him I needed to get back to work. The hygienist said "oh that's fine, you can go back to work." These people clearly do not get to know their patients. First of all, I immediately started to sweat and shake and panic and felt light-headed. I had so many questions, and even if I did decide to have my tooth removed I would need anxiety medication beforehand, someone to accompany me AND to drive me home afterwards, pre-purchased foods at home to eat while my gums healed, and definitely time off from work! I'm also a smoker, so knowing that I wouldn't be able to smoke after having a tooth removed I would need to mentally prepare and plan ahead for that. These people are so quick to jump to "we need to remove your teeth!" Beware! They didn't give me any time to think, just react, and my reaction was to leave. Perhaps if they had sat down calmly and gave me some information to help me understand WHY they thought the tooth should come out then I could at least understand my options, but I was aghast when they didn't even give me any post-surgery instructions beforehand, what to expect, etc. They didn't even give me any time to register what was about to happen. If you have dental anxiety like I do I DO NOT recommend this place. I DO however recommend taking their advice with a grain of salt, stand up for yourself and don't let them pressure you into unnecessary tooth extractions!

You are then transferred to the local office who doesn't answer the phone. The local office leaves you a voicemail if you can't pick up and they ask you to call their general number. You get stuck in a loop of calling a number who can't help you and being transferred to a number that isn't picking up. I haven't had any bad experiences with any of the dental work they perform, just the lack of appointment and difficulty scheduling appointments.

Back in April my husband went in for extractions. Insurance was verified and they told us our…read moreportion was $584.25. We were told they wouldn't schedule the extractions until payment was made, so we went ahead and made the payment, scheduled the appointment and had the extractions done. In our dealings with Dr. Vu, the billing staff, and the office girls, I would say nothing special as far as customer service. It was all, business, and pretty professional. Basically as expected. Then early June I receive our EOB and it stated patient responsibility is $474.00. I was a bit surprised since their figure was so exact. I called to ask about the over payment and was told as soon as they received payment from insurance they would issue us a credit back to our debit card. He said they normally call, but he would notate my call so they could just process the refund. It is now towards the end of July and I've still heard nothing from them and have no credit on my account. So today I call to inquire the status of the refund. First I'm told no one is available to help me but I can leave a voicemail. When I finally get to speak with some he basically says he has no idea when I'll receive credit. He told me he sees that they've been paid from insurance so he'll put a note on for them to process it ASAP. I ask if he knows how long that'll be. He said he doesn't know when they process it, but it's not daily. He then added that after it's processed it goes to corporate and he has no idea how long they take because it's out of their hands then. I don't mind expected customer service where no one goes above and beyond. I'm ok with that. BUT, I feel without these phone calls I never would have received a refund, and now it's taking forever, and they're passing the buck on Responsibility now. I look for EOBs now because my last dentist was over charging me every time we came in, for YEARS. Once I finally looked at my EOB and talked to them about it, I got an apology but they could only go back a year to refund me. At least they did it almost immediately. Even though there was nothing bad, or good, with the dental services, after this experience, just like with my previous dentist, I will not be going back., Received a call back from Louise today, one of the managers, asking for my card number so they could process the refund. I laughed then explained to her what I was told yesterday. She said it sounds like she has some training to do when she gets off the phone. She then went on to explain how they train their employees to always make the customer the focus. She even explained the entire refund process and how they were a bit behind. She was extremely pleasant, processed my refund immediately, and made me rethink my opinion of them. I may go back and give them another try thanks to the excellent customer service I received from Louise.
