Nice place to watch a game! (if you are skinny) Booths are WAY Too small. I am a 2x and couldn't fit. Service was fantastic! Each and every one. Food was hit and miss around the table. French dip was super good but the blt was terrible. On other visits we have had happy hour bar food and it all good. Pizza is good. My wife and I had been here several times before and the service, food and prices has been pretty good and we have been coming here a couple of times a month. Tonight however we were very disappointed at a couple of things. For one, they bussed our tables while we were a few feet away playing one of the lottery machines and threw away the rest of the pizza we ordered instead of asking us if we were going to take it home. I felt they should have reduced the bill or given us some kind of consideration as we are seniors and we tip very well. The bartender knew our first names. Two: the place has a pool table in the middle of the dining and gaming area. On more than one occasion pool players have been obnoxious and tonight there was a particularly crude trio of guys that looked like they'ed come in off the farm after slopping the hogs. They were loud, vulgar and seemed to be unable to form a complete sentence without a string of four letter words to punctuate their moronic discourse. This is not the first place that I've noticed that pool tables in restaurants can cause trouble and can draw a sleeze factor. We've decided that we won't be returning to this place. The bartender should have told these customers to lower their voices and clean up their language as there were several females in the place and we found it disturbing and disrespectful. I started working in bars in 1968 as a bandleader and did so for almost 40 yrs so I know what good owner/operators do to handle jerks, and they did nothing. read more

I ordered takeout from this place... something called "chicken parmesan." When it arrived it was just tortilla chips, melted cheese, chopped olives a few tomatoes, and a few tiny strips of chicken. It cost me fifteen bucks and it was garbage. There wasn't even any sauce and the chips were stale. I threw most of it away. It's never a good sign when a place allows live music acts to perform, and only three booths face the performance area. And the regular KJ steals a crucial bulb from the lights that cover the stage because he doesn't like it when other performers, like legit singers and instrumentalists, come and steal his spotlight. Or when the server saunters up to the table like she's just been shaken out of a naughty daydream and can't remember whether or not the restaurant has happy hour pricing and can't find clean glasses, despite their sitting in a pyramid right behind the booth where we were sitting. Or when said server overcharges and the beleaguered bartender has to sort out the tab. But the first warning sign that Geno's Grill was not the place for me came from the Toyota Tercel, which began clattering and sputtering and coughing its way down the freeway on the ride there. Its oil level downgraded from "tolerably low" to "destined to make you think twice about ever setting foot in Gresham again" within minutes. Due to the on the freeway status, nothing could be done. By the time the embattled TT rolled into Geno's parking lot, not even the three quarts of emergency gas station oil could save the TT from its eventual flatline. Although the path itself into the light was not entirely flat, but jerky and climaxing with an eruption of smoke from under the hood. You know how animals sense instinctively when a natural disaster beckons? Or how moms just know when you're up to no good? I think the TT knew what a craptacular disappointment Geno's would be, both as a music venue and as a decent bar, and paid the ultimate sacrifice to get us to turn back, away from the 'Sham and its Joeys and Ginas. If only we had listened. Perhaps TT's passing would not be in vain. I hope the good deities are cranking up some sweet tunes and a pair of beautiful angels is getting it on in your backseat up as you parallel park through eternity in car heaven, TT. read more

Who is Geno? Food is subpar. Drinks are "okay." Employees look miserable. Management doesn't seem to exist. Geno's needs a serious update. Used to be a hit every time on pizza, lately it's been a miss. We tend to always order for carry out and have been finding the last 3 times we have to put it back in our oven due to raw dough . First and foremost, our server Bri was the bright spot in our entire experience. She was friendly, attentive and totally on top of it all night. My boyfriend and I came here to watch the Blazers game last night. When we got there a little after six, it was not busy at all. Still, it took a while to get our drinks. Our server actually had to tell us our drinks (two beers on tap) were on their way. I saw her ask the bar for them twice. We ordered a pizza and it came out to our table completely undercooked and doughy. Neither of us ever send food back but it was inedible. We showed our server the one slice out of the pie and she sent it back to be cooked again. When it came back out, it was slightly less doughy but still undercooked. My boyfriend and I both picked at one piece each and then let Bri take it away. So disappointing. The Blazers game was running on every screen in the building, which was great, but two of their three huge screens looked like they were on the way out and had poor picture quality. It was surprising to me that this place has gotten only bad reviews. I've been eating at geno's for years and it's always been good. I will say I haven't been there in about a year so things may have changed. The onion rings are some of the best I've had. The pizza is awesome. Great crust and sauce. I'd recommend the bartender pizza. So yummy. Their nachos are great and the burgers and sandwiches I've ha have been great as well. Huge projection screens for sports and the speaker at the the table for personal listening to the program of your choice is totally a nice touch. Decided to stop here late for a bite to eat. Despite the other reviews here, I found this place to be really good. The waiter (who was also tending the bar) was really on top of things. He had our drinks to us in no time (sodas) and we NEVER had to ask for a refill. They were there as we were taking our last gulp! I had the nachos. I opted for the smaller version (not so macho nacho), but it was still way more than I could eat. All for 8 bucks. It has fajita-style chicken which was really good. My partner had the pizza. I have always had a great time at Gino's bar and Grill never once did I have bad service really nice employees good food. The only bad thing is before the owner Tony took over while he used to bartend he was serving watered-down drinks that pretty much had no alcohol at all, but now seems to have been looking up and ever since he bought the bar and the bartenders are better! I recommend that if you like sports bars then try Geno's on 257th and Stark Street. This place is perfect for football Sunday. It has like 100 TV's, including 3 wall size projector screens. It doesn't get a 4 or 5 star from me, because although the bartenders pour a good cocktail and they usually have good beer on tap AND the waitresses are super nice....the food just isn't up to par. Sure they can make a decent burger, but everything else leaves you feeling like there is still a hole that needs filling. Not in the sense that you don't get enough (even though the chicken strips and fish n chips are one strip short), more like just not satisfied with flavor. Geno's is great. I live around the corner, and go here often. It used to be better before they ran off all the talented management, but it still gets along. I love this place because the beer is a-plenty, everyone knows me by name, and the sports channels always have the game I go in for. They always put my game up on the tv I want, and they'll usually kick someone out of my barstool if someone is planted there. Minus one star for the fact that, if it isn't happy hour, food and beer are quite pricey. Happy hour is great though! SUPER friendly staff, glad that I found this place as a second home. read more

A special mixed drink and some creation of the Bartender shot that nobody really wants but they try it. A stereotypical Sports bar because in this case they fit the Stereotype to a T. In that respect you get what you expect. The atmosphere is music loud enough that it makes it hard enough to talk but not loud enough that you cant hear. Many stare mindlessly at different games hoping to catch that highlight before it hits the internet. All this means you need to drink enough to be hungry or need to have something to eat. Basic frozen bar food. Fries burgers. One time we ventured to the salads. Out of bounds. Flag on the play. Stay with what you know they know. Its a sports bar. Cheap beer. I'm a regular at this place. It's the best place to watch a sporting event in the area, hands down. The pizza is great, the burgers are good, and the sweet potato fries are the bomb. But the best, is the original mac & cheese. I add chicken, mushrooms, and jalapenos to it, so yummy. Same great location, same food...more staff? When we walked in there was a hostess cleaning the windows and the front door. We were seated by her and she extremely friendly and professional. When we got our food, it was extremely disappointing to even take a photo. 5.99$ for five wings though. The chicken's skin was soggy, flavor was bland. We we wanted to get a gyro, which is featured on the menu on their website, but apparently they no longer serve it, what a let down. We then went ahead and ordered some items from the happy hour menu, tator tots, Cajun fries, and Caesar salad. All three items were rather tasty. We also ordered a pizza, that was not so good...at all. The crust seemed either undercooked or it was dough that had previously been frozen. It was maybe the worst tasting crust I've ever had in a restaurant pizza. We only ate a few slices of it and didn't bother taking it to go. Heard Geno's had a new owner thought we would try it again after 4 years. Good news no stomachache this time. Bad news service was so slow........from greeting, order taking, meal delivery, check dropped off, I finally went to the bar to pay my bill. They were not busy at all, only a few tables and people at the bar. Chicken wrap had too much lettuce and the bitter tough lettuce from the outside of the romaine. I you looked really hard there was a little bit of chicken in there.same dingy dirty interior, you don't have to look hard to realize cleaning is not on the to do list.
