I think I like this bar because it's not obnoxious and loud. Even the patrons seem friendly and more key. The crowd tendd to be on the younger side. They have video poker machines that are out of sight of the bar which is nice. The menu is on the skinny side, but the beer menu is fairly expensive. The place itself is small, and they don't have a lot of tables. It's a relaxing place that's good if you just want to hang out for you oh, so I will be back for sure where is Melanie T because she is my date. read more

First off I am going to go ahead and address the one star review by Jennifer A. as a public service to this place... It's a small bar with a bartender and a cook, nobody comes to your table Jennifer (best valley girl voice impression when I say Jennifer) you have to walk up to the bar and order your drinks and food... This is borderline a life lesson from me to you, you're welcome? I can't believe that you have never experienced counter service before then burned these people due to your lack of life experience at 35 years old. That out of the way, let's review the place. If I was reviewing this place as a "fit" for me it'd be 2 stars I'll never go back, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it... So I rated it for what it is. A bar, a straight up bar for locals who live and work within a 3 mile radius. Not a pub, not a brasserie, not a taproom, this place is an absolute dive bar, but it's kind of a dive bar wrapped in classier clothing... Clean tables? Decent food? Nice decor? It draws you in like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Then you walk through the door, you look at the tap list, Coors light, an array of commonly kegged discount grocery store IPA's, a full bar worth of decent liquor, a dozen people that just communicate on the surface "regulars since opening day" in every way, a handful of people way too drunk and loud for 5:30pm, an array of lightly used tail fishing equipment lines the parking lot, lifted wranglers and way too clean pickup trucks with gloss black discount tire 20's wrapped in mud tires too small for the trucks because lifts are expensive, hard to install yourself, and girls can't tell the difference, clear to the horizon, SRT8 badges and various other high powered Mopar products speckle the background, the video poker room ample and fully utilized, the bar line placed strategically in a narrow hallway forcing women to have to walk the gamut squeezing through the line of externally detectable high heart rate mildly sweaty creepy overweight general contractor clientele on the way to the bathroom... All that said if you love AC/DC fast cars and loose women or if you are a member of the group "loose women" you will love this spot and good for you, live your best life gangstas, who am I to judge? Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm too refined for this crowd I guess... I grew up in a trailer park, not unfamiliar with the back seat of a cop car in my younger days, raised on construction sites, my mom was murdered stabbed to death true story and she was a convicted sex offer in and out of mental institutions, my dad was an alcoholic construction worker, I am a combat veteran with a purple heart, this place is too "hard" for me, work to understand that statement and where it's coming from... By now if you read this clear through, you are either scrolling on trying to find the nice quiet pub/taproom I was hoping to find or you are mid-sprint to your DUI inspired moped "hollerin' somethin' that would warm old Hank's blood on the way to the Kooler" if you're looking for a genuine bar, maybe a fight, a girl that smokes one or more substances and looks good enough as long as you can avoid looking directly into her open mouth (perfect in a helmet on the back of that brand new crotch rocket you just bought and don't know how to ride), or a testosterone rich younger guy still learning to grow facial hair with standards lowering by the beer, head on down. Great little neighborhood joint. This will be our new go-to place, just a few blocks from home. Yummy panini, reasonably priced. About 10 beers on tap. Full bar, including specialty cocktail menu. My husband and I stopped in last week to get an early dinner. There were 5 men sitting at the bar and no one else in the bar. The female bartender with brown hair, saw us walk in and didn't say a word. No acknowledgment. We seated ourselves at a booth quickly because I forgot a mask so we wanted to get seated. Even though I watched 3 different men sitting at the bar walk in and out with no mask on. We sat there and talked for probably at least 10-15 minutes without her ever coming over. I don't know what the problem was?? Not sure what we did to not deserve service. Then I thought maybe she's getting drinks for the guys at the bar but as we observed she was standing there talking with zero give a shits that we were sitting there waiting. I use to manage a Mcmenamins and my husbands family has owned a Gresham restaurant for over 50 years so we tip really well and understand the business and also like to support small local companies. She bluntly ignored us and I'd like to say shitty service but she gave us none. I hope the owner reads this considering restaurants are struggling in our economy and if she treats people that aren't regulars like that???? Good luck staying in business. I'd get rid of her. We live really close by and will never go back to try it or recommend it. We just share our super shitty experience with our friends We left with no one ever saying a word to us and took our business to blue pine. Had excellent service and dinner, and left our waitress a $30 tip. I finally had a chance to try this place! I work near by & have been curious to try it since it replaced the old cafe. It's actually a great establishment! I was a little skeptical about a "bar" being brought in at first. However, the owners are lovely people & the inside is very clean & well-kept! Their menu is simple & priced quite fairly. I've only been here during lunch so I'm uncertain if they've a dinner menu. Their lunch menu, though, is delicious! I ordered 3 tacos for 5.75--chicken & pork. The pork tacos were definitely my favorite! A good list of hot sandwiches are available-- that of which I'm definitely going to try during my next visit. I recommend popping in for a meal! Great food, good list of beers, cocktails & the owners are great people! read more

We stopped in for lunch after spending the morning exploring the gorge and on our way to Crater Lake. Shawna was very friendly and accommodating with our order and a great conversationalist. We had the pork tacos and a combo of the Italian and the Artichoke panini and a couple of beers. The tacos were larger than expected and were tasty. Shawna added the meat from the Italian to the artichoke panini and it was very good. We will come back for another snack (maybe the tri-tip panini??) on our next visit. read more

Great little local bar with good eats and drinks, great staff and friendly customers. The Gobbler is their fall panini special, with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, swiss cheese, and cream cheese, my favorite. And they will make any panini you want into an individual size pizza. The only reason I'm even giving this place two stars is because I like the feel and look of the place. The girl working the counter this evening was horrible. She pours a good drink, but she is not personable at all. Didn't smile at one person. Total robot mode. She was on her phone for at least 2-3 minutes while people were waiting at the end of the bar for a drink. She regularly disappeared into the back and took forever to come back out. And this was during happy hour on a Saturday night! Was not paying attention to people at all. I love the style of this place.. I would frequent it if I received good service. My boyfriend and I just flew in from Northern California and were en route to Bend when we found this little place on Yelp. We each ordered a panini and he had a beer. I had the artichoke and was very happy with it and he loved his turkey swiss. We felt the beer selection was not on par with the variety of beers available (only about 8 taps and one was Blue Moon and one Coors Lite) For $23 including tip it was a good value. I love this place. It's conveniently located, close to my home. The vibe is welcoming, employees were charming and engaging. Cocktails are made with freshly squeezed fruit juices and priced reasonably. My girlfriend ordered a panini and loved it. I had the special, homemade chili, among the best i ever had. Was going to meet a friend for drinks and food tonight. I had been waiting for about 20 mins on their bench they have outside. A staff member came out and said these seats are for customers only. I said I'm waiting on a friend and we're going to come in when she gets here... Her response was, "Well youve been out here awhile and will have to come inside these seats are for customers only." Hmmm if I'm waiting on someone and going to be coming inside when they get there -to spend money- wouldn't that make me a customer? She basically told me come in or leave... Horrible place!
