Will not come back. Bread felt and tasted like it was from a grocery store. Our appetizers never came. Everyone's pasta was beyond undercooked while our chicken and shrimp were overcooked. Waitress never came by to check on us and disappeared after dropping off our check. Last night we picked up shrimp scampi. Extremely salty. Shrimp is naturally salty. If I want lots of salt I can easily add. Have previously enjoyed this dish from G's many times. Last night was heavily salted. Next: Last night we picked up fried calamari. No red dipping sauce was included. Instead there a buttery concoction drizzled on. On a previous order of fried calamari, G's covered it in a sweet hot sauce. Yuck! Too expensive to be dealing out these kinds of mistakes. read more

food was good, no complaints there. service was average. we were two couples splitting the bill. husbands discussed bill and were paying cash. as we left the waiter approached me and said no disrespect but i have to pay busboy and kitchen staff and the tip is too small. husbands come up behind us and rather than get into it my husband hands the waiter another $10 and leaves. other husband engages waiter and tells him you tip on amount before tax not total. whatever is correct, waiter should have kept his mouth shut because now we won't ever go back . hope that extra 10 was worth it read more

Hands down my favorite lunch italian spot in Hamilton. It reminds me of what Chambersberg in Trenton use to be. Do not let their stripe mall location fool you, they provide high quality options and ingredients. We usually order off the specials menu but The Italiano Pizza is a go to favorite for lunch for both myself and my best girl friend. She refers to it as salad pizza which is PERFECT for lunch. Its also BYOB so bring a bottle of wine, sit outside and have a salad pizza with your bestie! read more

I'm totally confused. The pics of the food on their website looked so delicious and high quality, it enticed me to try this place out. I also saw a review by Better NJ saying this establishment is 'the best Italian.' Um...I'm not even Italian and I make WAY better spaghetti sauce and this one was one of the worst spaghetti I ever had. It literally tasted like they dumped a can of tomato paste and added salt to it. The meatballs were OK and I do appreciate that they were homemade and not frozen. Maybe I ordered from here on a night when their usual chef wasn't there? Regardless, the food was so lousy, I'll never order from this place again. Disappointing. read more

I went to this restaurant with a friend of mine who had eaten here and liked it. We opted for Caesar salad and tomato pie. The Caesar salad was very good. The lettuce was fresh, the dressing was authentic, and the croutons were tasty. The portion was $7 and large enough to share but not huge. We got tomato pie and each customized it to our liking. I got garlic and black olives on my half. It was decent tomato pie but I've had better. The ambiance was nice. I'd go back to this restaurant. read more

We have only done takeout from Gennaro's once but we definitely plan to go back and try sitting on the patio. The best part was their gluten free pizza. I loved the thin crust and it was so tasty, you would not even know it was gluten free. Definitely some of the better gluten free pizza I've tried. We also had the vodka rigatoni which was delicious. We were less excited by the eggplant rollatini. It was just a bundle of cheese with very little eggplant or other flavors. We're excited to try some of their other pizzas and pastas. read more

This is a very fun place to go if you are looking for some family bonding time. When I walked in I was greeted with a friendly smile and was guided to my table. I ordered a pizza with bacon sausage and chicken. After around 5 minutes my appetizer which was a plate of fried calamari arrived. It was very crispy and it was the right balance between taste and texture. After 15 minutes the pizza came to my table. When I saw the pizza I was AMAZED! it was an entire small pizza pie!. When I walk into a pizza place the last thing I expected was a whole mini pizza pie. The pizza was delicious and the crust was just the way I liked it. Overall Gennaros is a very good place to go if you want a quality pizza pie. 5/5 would come again read more

The front door of Gennaro's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria is on the Nottingham Way side of this commercial development sitting on a peninsula between Nottingham and Rt. 33. On a cold and snowy afternoon the location of the door, and being sure to park as close to it as possible, takes on special meaning. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was that this was not just another pizza joint with low budget furniture and place settings. No. Gennaro's is a step above in class. Black, stone and wood tones throughout; white table clothes, and heavy silverware. The servers dress the part, and mine was both friendly and professional. So, I might have been slightly abashed when I ordered the Italian Hot Dog in the Sandwiches portion of the menu. I was in the mood for it, and I didn't feel like dropping close to $15 on a solo lunch, although the list of dishes available from Chicken Francese to Pan Roasted Canadian Salmon and a good list of Soups and Salads, was very tempting. My meal arrived quickly and was very visually attractive with the various colors of the Peppers, Potatoes, Onions, Mustard, Long Sesame Roll and Frankfurter, sliced and diced and sitting like royalty on the large white platter. The side of Fries seemed superfluous and semi-redundant with the Roasted Taters already working the inside. The dog was large and heavy on the garlic - liked it a lot! The veggie combo worked in spicy harmony, although the Roll may have been a few hours past its prime. I worked with surgeon's tools (knife & fork) to avoid a mistake ending up on my suit or my face. I liked my lunch and perused the menu knowing I would return with a few people to try a broader swatch of the offerings. This seemed the right place for a celebratory lunch or dinner. With an abundance of mediocre Italian restaurants in this area (and almost nothing else) Gennaro's is a standout favorite with me and my family. The combination of really adorable ambiance + delicious Italian essentials done right + excellent service makes this a no-brainer for us when we go out for dinner in the Robbinsville/Hamilton area. Some of my favorites: the spaghetti scallops puttanesca, the linguine shrimp fra diavolo, and the fried calamari and zucchini from the appetizer menu. I've never tried their desserts (Halo Pub is next door!) but they look very, very tempting. A bonus: In the warmer months, you can almost always walk in without a reservation due to the outdoor deck with lots of extra seating. Try to snag a spot outside! It's real cute. read more

Prices were good with the exception of the Risotto, which was $29.00 compared to $14.50 for Cheese Ravioli with meat sauce, $14.00 for Chicken Piccata with Cappelini and $17.00 for Chicken Saltimboca. My meal at Gennaro's was very good. Party of 6 on a Friday night after 6pm and we were seated right away. The Fried Calamari was thinly sliced, and fried crisp. I shared a bit of a salad with apples, walnuts, Gorgonzola, and grapes, I enjoyed it very much - nice portion size as well. My main course was Chicken Saltimboca. The portion size was perfect. I actually finished my dinner- almost always I wrap it up! There were roasted potatoes and thinly sliced squash and zucchini on the side. I didn't order the pizza, but noticed it was a very thin crust. Really looked good. Gennaro's was a good choice for a Friday night dinner. read more

Come here if you want a good slap in the face! Went with my family we waited a few minutes to even be looked at by the several hosts. Finally a host that barely made eye contact with us was seating us. On the way a customer came up and asked her a question. She stopped seating us to help her. No one said a word. We asked- will you seat us? Where should we sit? The host ignored us. We all said excuse me?? Then she laughed at us while we're standing in the middle of the restaurant and she's helping a random customer. She could've said wait or hold on but never said a word. Just laughed at us. The behavior of the staff was inappropriate and we felt so disrespected so we walked out and she watched us not saying a word. read more

I don't give a lot of reviews but I haven't been to this local in a while. Brought a friend there and was embarrassed. I had salmon and she had the mussels and eggplant rolotini. It all looked good but the taste was like it was made by a pizza parlor "want-to-be restaurant". We spent spent of money for a not so great meal. 1 star because the ice tea was served warm without ice. Think about it = ICE tea without ice! To top off the meal I was charged $4 more for substituting broccoli for their standard potatoes. The waitress said it would be $1. It was maybe 2 small florets more than the amount already ordered. We walked in on a Saturday evening with no reservations. After being told that it would be almost an hour before we would be seated we were walking up to our car when a waiter came out to inform us that they had just cleared a table for us. Our waiter was informed and attentive. Each of us had a different selection on the menu. The cod oreganata was perfectly cooked and moist, we also sampled a veal francaise which was well prepared as well. Our 3rd entree was a ravioli staple which was not over cooked and mushy and came with a deliciously prepared marinara sauce. I would recommend the house salad with the house dressing. It was well seasoned without being over spiced. We were too full for dessert but my brother ordered the caramel apple walnut cake to go which looked tasty as well. I am from Philly and would definitely make a recommendation to visit Gennaro's if you are in the Trenton/Hamilton area. read more

Loyal customer completely disrespected and tossed aside by arrogant manager, Jamie, that doesn't value customers. Been a loyal customer for nearly 10 years at this place until I recently experienced multiple visits where take-out and delivery orders were messed up. On their last screwed up order, I was verbally pounced on when I called to correct the order. Manager Jamie immediate implied I screwed up the order and didn't offer any solution right away. I would've been fine if they just offered to deliver the correct order but before I could even suggest it the Mgr quickly started an argument about who was responsible for their screw up and totally escalated the situation. Shouting over my voice on the phone rather than listening to me. So out of line and unprofessional. You just lost another good customer. read more

Dollar-for-dollar this is the best restaurant in New Jersey. The atmosphere and food is that of top Italian resteraunts. All 5 of us loved our food and Mo was a great server. Went to Gennaro's last night. My sister and brother in law were in and we wanted Italian. Gennaros did not disappoint! The food was phenomenal and our waiter was, too! (We think his name was Joe, but not totally sure. He had blond hair and lot of tattoos. ) The pork chop special was great, and they accommodated my sister's want for Alfredo. We had our son's baptism luncheon at Gennaro's on Sunday. The service was great, food was delicious (as always) and the guests could NOT stop talking about the space for our party of 35 and 4 kids! We order from Gennaro's often and I was again very pleased with everything. For small and large parties, there were several options for appetizers and lunches/dinners. The stuffed pork roast got rave reviews from our guests! They sent us home with all the leftovers and we couldn't have asked for a smoother event. Thank you, Gennaro's! read more

We come here fairly regularly because they serve very good food for a good price. They've had the same servers and host/hostesses for a while and they all do a great job, even when the restaurant is packed, which it usually is! It's BYO, so that's nice! My favorites are the antipasto, artichoke hearts franchaise, salmon Neapolitan, roasted chicken and the numerous specials they change every night. They're expanding too, with another room attached. Not sure if it will be a banquet room or an additional room for restaurant seating. Try this restaurant snd you will be back. Salute! read more
