This review is NOT about the service rep. It is about surprise service charge. On May 16, 2024, when the storm hit, my generator came on but the power inside the house did not - 6:11pm. I could not go outside to manually move the transfer switch because of the weather conditions. This is the second time this had happened. The first time on April 20, 2024, when I called for service the person I spoke with said it was probably just a fluke so there was no service request. I called the office number on May 16 and I guess I reached the 24 hour help line and I explained what happened. It wasn't indicated to me that anyone was called and I knew they couldn't come out anyway because of the weather. So after the storm had passed out of my area, I went outside to the transfer switch box and manually turned the power on to the house 6:45pm. I planned on calling the office the next day to schedule a service call to find out why this was happening. Around 9-9:30pm May 16 I get a call from a generac service technician and he says he is about 20 minutes from my house. I told him I already got the power on to the house and he didn't need to come out. He said he was only 20 minutes away and he could come check out what the problem was and get it fixed. No one every told me this was an after hours call and I would be charged $125.00 if I accepted the service call at this time of night. Remember I called in around 6pm. I did not call anyone at 10pm for a service call. I would have waited until the next day. Needless to say I was very disappointed that I was not told in advance that this was an after hours call and I would be charged $125.00 because if I had been told, I would have refused the service call because I already had the lights on. I was very surprised when I saw a $125 charge and I called the service center the next business day to find out what it was for and explained to the person I spoke with everything that had happened. read more

I contacted GS to repair my generator. I even signed up for their expensive maintenance program in order to be a "preferred customer". I should have read the reviews about this company on Yelp before I chose to make that decision. So once again, I am looking for a company who believes in and understands the importance of customer service. Three weeks after my initial contact with GS, (and after 3 technician visits) I still don't have a working generator. Be careful with this company. It's unfortunate that Costco refers this company for Generator installation. Once the generator is installed, they will con you into accepting a maintenance contract for $39 per month. They will tell you to try it for a month or two to see how you like it but never actually start maintenance. Then out of the blue (6 months later) you get a bill for all the previous months of service you never knew about. You are not allowed to cancel the maintenance contract unless you pay the entire bill first. Again, they do nothing for the $39 per month. DO NOT agree to the monthly maintenance agreement. Read the paperwork carefully and avoid this section. Use an outside company for the maintenance of your generator. read more

Generator super center of Tomball is by far the worst customer service company i have ever did business with. If I had not paid for the unit I would let them come get it. My salesperson Juli told me things that made me want to buy including wifi unit, which during the very first storm it didn't work, they refused compensation or refund. Service is non existence. After 15 months or so they sent someone out, now they said since I requested service I now owe them $325. I called fir service when the unit stopped working, it took 12 months to come out and now they want to charge. The seven years maintenance our salesperson stated is a joke and a selling point only. I am on a well and if power goes out I I have no water. i pay Tomball Generator Supercenter for maintenance and monitoring. the generac failed in this last storm. they sent a tech out but did not report back. When I called again they said it needed parts but it would not be until next week. They can't even say if they have the rotor and brushes in stock let alone repair the generac until next week. This not bad service it is Zero service. I have find and haul water for my horses, my refrigerators are spoiled and all of the lettuces and other food I grow in 2 hydroponic gardyns are dead. The Failure of my Generac Generator I purchased a Generac generator about 3 years ago and also signed up for their maintenance program called "GenMonitor" from Generator Supercenter. All failed me when we needed it to work. They are over 4 months behind on my yearly maintenance and the generator completely failed when I lost electricity. The response that I received from Generator Supercenter was pathic. The lady at the counter told me that the monitor system was not required, and I could go with another company which is the only good that came from customer service. not only not good, but horrible service. I have a contract for emergency service and itis been 36 hours and I still don't have power. my generator is 2 years old. It was serviced 2 months ago. during a small tornado, that I lost power overnight, the generator did not work. A week after the tornado, the battery is replaced recommended by them, and now with hurricane Beryl it only worked 1 hour. It's been 36 hours, and I haven't heard from them. they rather give me bags of ice instead of fixing the generator. This is the first time I experience power outage for this long since i have the generator and it's been a nightmare. the temperature in my house is 90 degrees with a $13,000.00 dead generator. I was very excited to purchase a generator and this company was recommended to me by two of my neighbors. Their experience was much better than mine. First, my salesperson, Andrew Lyssey, either wasn't well trained, or did not care to be honest about the placement of my unit. My electrical box is located on the back of my house, which impacted how close my unit could be to the home. It now is 4 feet from the house, instead of the 18 inches Andrew assured me was standard. His assessment of the tubing from my gas meter to the unit was also incorrect and had to be adjusted when the installers came. He also told me that the city would upgrade my gas meter the same day as the installation, so that everything would be completed in two days. When the installers came, everything seemed to be in place. However, when I went out to check their progress, I found out that my unit had to be moved further into the yard. Although, when I first talked to them, they said it would be 18 inches from the house. At no point did the installers tell me that this placement had to be changed. I went out to check on their progress and they still didn't tell me that the unit had to be moved. It was only when they were leaving that I saw the unit was 4 feet from my house. I was told that the electric box was a problem. The inspector was scheduled to come the next day. The installer said that after the inspector approved their work, he could move the unit. (Think about that- it's ethically and morally wrong, and unsafe.) The office personal isn't much better. I was assigned Jaclyn Miller, but she rarely returned calls or email. I had received an email from Mallory D., and so I continued to reach out to her when Jaclyn didn't respond. I then got an email that was unfriendly, letting me know that she, Mallory, was not assigned to my case and that I shouldn't email her about it. I bought my unit when the company had a 10 year warranty incentive. They keep sending me emails to buy a warranty. The app that I have to show the generator's status, doesn't show that it is being tested or that I have a warranty. They offer money for referrals. There is no amount of money that they could offer that would inspire me to recommend them to a friend. read more

Guess I have to agree with the other users that the service has gone way down hill. I have a 22 Kw unit they installed 4 years ago and the first couple of years I had no complaints. However, now, as others have noted they have no service. Called to schedule a routine maintenance and was told that since I didn't have a maintenance contract with them that they couldn't schedule me until later in September. I said that was fine lets schedule. I was then told that I would have to call back later in September to see if there was anything open. This is the worst company I have ever done business with. We wrote a deposit check for over $4000 last July for the purchase of a whole home generator. In the four months since, we have never heard a single word or received a single update or status when we might expect the installation to occur. I did contact them to inquire about canceling the transaction for cause, and was curtly informed there would be a 10% cancelation charge and that was NOT NEGOTIABLE. Even if they actually deliver this thing, I refuse to ever contract this company for the annual maintenance. This company does not have any customer service. In the three years they have been monitoring my generator and exercising it weekly, I had to call them to tell them that the generator was not working. Shouldn't they be calling me? Recently, I called Generator Supercenter to tell them it was not being started on a regular weekly basis. What am I paying for? They scheduled an appointment for me over two weeks out. That was the earliest date. When the date arrived, my wife called and asked for the time window for their arrival , the customer service rep said" oh, you are on the list that we were to call to reschedule." We set another appointment time. TWO More weeks out! In the meantime, I called another Generac Installer. They were out in a week and did the maintenance & had the generator running. Called the Supercenter and asked for a refund of two months or $118.00. The customer service rep went to their manager an came back with a credit of $11.00. Max came out to perform the annual service checkup. He changed the oil, air filter, spark plugs, cleaned the battery terminals, and replaced the mobile device (that talks to the company). He was professional, and methodical, answered all my questions, showed me how to troubleshoot some things. It was reassuring to work with someone who knew what he was doing and had the kindness and patience to explain things. Never work with company!! Absolutely the worst. I paid $35K for a home generator that was installed 9 months late. When the installation finally occurred, the job was quite messy with damage to my house and landscape. On top of that they continually try to up-sell me along the way. Once the generator was in service, it failed the first 2 times the power went out. In spite of all the money I spent with them, I sat in the dark anyway. I pay for their monthly service which is supposed to provide periodic scheduled maintenance. I am weeks overdue for my scheduled maintenance, but I note that the monthly service charge that I pay was increased by 30% without notice. I am still waiting for my scheduled maintenance to be performed. I'm my opinion, this company is not reputable. If I had to do it over again, I would NEVER work with them. read more

This is the worst place to purchase a generator. They absolutely provide no service for their product, even for customers with a "service" contract and within warranty. Generator died 7/13, but a tech wasn't assigned until 7/18. Came out and told me what I already knew, engine blown, but under warranty. We were excited about getting a generator from Generator Supercenter until we read the terms and conditions of the contract. They make no representations and warranties in the contract that are found in the brochure. There is no obligation for them to: install properly, use new equipment & premium materials including copper, comply with codes and law, obtain permits, be bonded and insured, use licensed and certified plumbers and electricians, be responsible for their subcontractors, to name a few. In fact, there isn't even any statement that requires them to install the generator on your property. There is no indication of the equipment manufacturer or where specifically the equipment will be installed on the property. There is no committed timetable for installation, with lots of reasons they can contractually delay their performance. 90% payment due is prior to installation (and labor costs more than the generator.) No warranty - customer has to get it from the manufacturer - just a list of express exclusions. Any representations in brochures or other documents are expressly excluded from your contract. They also ask for the customer to indemnify them instead of the service provider indemnifying the customer. We were told that no changes to the Ts and Cs are possible. We will need to look elsewhere. read more

Product is very good. Customer Service is unresponsive and misleading. Sales representative says he's your go-to person for any/all issues; he is not! Salesman told us lead time was 4-5 weeks (per contract, also told they had plenty of inventory and installation crews) we called at 4 weeks for status, told they were scheduling 10-12 weeks out; had to argue to pull in date. Scheduled installation then told they couldn't make it as their installation team called in sick. Clean-up after installation was unacceptable. Left exposed cable on top of ground with dirt piled on top (didn't dig a trench). Had to call back for a crew to correct problem. Just be aware if you decide to hire them! read more

Sales rep was fantastic, unfortunately everything that could go wrong with install and communications after the sale did go wrong. I have pages of documentation on how many times I had to call, how many times random people showed up at my house unannounced and without appt or heads up ahead of time. Now I have an issue with my generator 1 year after install and have been trying to get appoint scheduled to repair it before the next round of storms. I have called over 10 times in past week, left numerous voicemails and they still have not called me back. I bought a generator for hurricane season and currently mine doesn't even work - despite me paying for their maintenance service! I purchased a 24kw generator from Generator Supercenter back in October last year (2023). The yearly maintenance agreement I'm buying is NOT being done by their Maintenace Dept.! I've been on their "schedule" for many many months now and still haven't seen anyone for my annual maintenance valve adjustment. Since I got tired of waiting on them to come out, that I changed the oil and filter myself. The unit has 62 hours on it and the maintenance should have been done at 25 hours per the book! If I could give a negative 5 star I would. Not only have I been waiting on my generator for a solid year now, but suddenly the quote I was given did not include a very important electrical component I was not aware of, and am having to find someone who will come install it before this joke of business will bring my damn generator and complete the install! Now my equipment is officially in stock, and has been for 7 months, however, no one will talk to my electrician so he can do the other work required to get them to come out. On my estimate it stated all electrical was included in the price, however, now suddenly it is not! I am beyond frustrated, and have called 5 times in the last month, but can not get anyone in the install department to call me back. They have my money, yet.... I sit here with no generator! I am ready to call a lawyer and the BBB at this point Update: 13 months later, still no generator, their only answer is to refund my money (maybe) rather than to do the job.... Referred directly from a trusted friend to the CEO. Initially contacted very quickly and high pressured into signing a contract. Salesman then ghosted me until my friend called them and got them to confirm installation. Then week of installation politely requested and update and was told very arrogantly it's written in your quote they will call you a few days before. No phone call. Texted CEO questioned the service and thought he might use his huge power to at least confirm or have someone call me. Instead he said he's cancelling the project. Didn't want to talk. Sent some idiot to pretend to refund the deposit to my house within 30 minutes. Couldn't find the refund, called the guy no answer. Texted him no answer. Texted CEO no answer. Some remote sense of accountability encouraged him to text me tonight if I received refund. I have since found 2-3 other companies who have spoken to me today and already feel validated in my suspicions about this companies inability to provide any level of service. The whole operation can only improve with good leadership and clearly the reaction of the CEO was unprofessional and unnecessary. Clown operation, stay away if you value your peace. read more

They supposedly fixed the issue then. Fast forward to Hurricane Beryl and after only running for less than a day, it broke again from an oil leak! We have been without power for days. We've submitted multiple service requests, tried calling and only get a busy signal. We finally got a call from someone saying we are on the schedule to get our generator fixed and no one ever showed up! That was 48 hours ago and counting. We pay a monthly maintenance fee to have the generator serviced and it is supposed to get us VIP service if something happens. Total load of BS. Stay far away from this company. read more

I had told them several times to cancel the contract and give me credit for their missed inspection. My generator has been dead since the last outage.
