We got a message on the app after Saturday's bi-weekly system test that it was time for a maintenance call to test the battery. When I called to set it up Desaray Pena, who took the call, said yes, and They already had us on the schedule for next week. And she followed up with an ema confirmation within a few minutes. The installation was good to a point. The gas line from the main to the house to the generator was installed improperly and a valve broke causing a major gas leak. When the plumber came out to repair it he had to change out several pieces of pipe to get the valve to fit properly and not be under strain and have a possible second valve break and gas leak. We got a bill from CenterPoint energy for the gas that leaked out for a total of $996.50. we Believe generator supercenter should pay for the gas leak. The leak was not our fault we did nothing to cause the valve to break it was improper installation by the generator supercenter installation crew. When I called generator supercenter about the gas bill they said they would have to review the situation. read more

We bought a generator back in July of 2025 and finally had it installed in February of 2026. We have solar panels and was told that we needed and electrician to hook the panels back up for a cost and that we could do it ourselves or have generator supercenter do it and include that fee in with the price of the generator. That is what we opted for. Well they installed the generator and the install crew waited hours for TNMP to come back and turn the electricity back onto the house and inspect the install,mine you the guy from TNMP came out that to do that but the install didn't happen yet. TNMP came out a few days later to inspect and the generator failed inspection. Install crew came back out fixed it and it passed inspection. Now we needed to get the electrician to come out and hook the solar panels back up. Well, it's been over a month ! My electric bills are not what I am use to during the winter months. I called our representative Dale Moehnke about the issue and he told me he will be calling some people to see what is going on and that he will be getting back with me. Long story short, the last phone call I had with him he told me that it was his fault because he didn't know better, that we were responsible for the hire of an electrician and that he should not have charge us the fee for the solar panel reconnection and since they did charge us and we paid that they will assume responsibility . He had assured me he would take care of this and see it through. That call was Thursday of last week and neither me nor my husband have heard anything on the situation. My next step is another call and the call after that will be to a lawyer. I feel I have been more than reasonable with the timeline to be able for Generator Supercenter to rectify things and get back to us! read more

All sales poor service. Monthly monitoring not worth the money. The one time my power has gone out generator failed to come on. I had a maintenance contract with Generator Supercenter at the time and could not get anyone on hotline number. Finally, after hours I got ahold of a representative. They could not correct the problem that night. Later, when I asked exactly what am I paying this monthly service bill if my machine fails to run dnd you guys fail to answer and respond? Worst company and I had the misfortunate of dealing with the Generator Supercenter office. I bought a large generator 2 months ago and the first 3 weeks, my AC shut down when this trashy equipment turns on for a weekly test. I went to the office in Tomball and waited for 25 minutes for the Installation Manager to come down. He came but his customer service skills were none existent. For the first 5 minutes he literally attacked my arguments and would NOT listen. I called him a punk. I am old enough to be his father and this terrible person was so rude. I think they have this game plan to reduce customers argument to naught. I was an Electronic Technician with the US Navy and they send me to their Electronics School for 2 years in Great Lakes. I told him I am not ignorant of electronics. Anywaya, today, I got charged 39.00 (a month) and I called the office for information. The witch who answered the phone said this is a NOC Monitoring fee. I told her really! These pimps and whores (including the lying sales person Andrew) told me it is a 7 year FREE warranty and there are no charges!. They weaseled this charge in there. This is a very dishonest company. Stay far away from them. I had the Conroe Generac site come and looked at my unit. They also told me the Tomball office has MANY complaints against them. Generator Supercenter is without a doubt the worst company I've ever dealt with. I've shared my story below and take a few minutes to read other low rated reviews. They all clearly demonstrate that Generator Supercenter is an incredibly poorly run company with zero focus on their customers. I recommend that no one do any business with Generator Supercenter. After being on their backlog for 6 months for a generator installation, a crew came out and reassessed the job at my house. Over the next 3 months, I would call them a couple of times a week for an update and the person working my project was never available and never returned my calls. I was finally able to speak with someone after weeks of calling, and I was told they "have decided not to move forward with my project". I had to ask for a reason and they said "the job is too complicated". I asked for clarification and the person I was speaking with couldn't even explain what was complicated about my project. I don't think they were even familiar with the details of my project. So I paid my $7,500 deposit to Generator Supercenter in February, waited 6 months for my date, spent the next 3 months being ignored by them, only to be told they are cancelling my project after 9 months of waiting. They offered little explanation for their decision, refused to let me speak with the General Manager, Owner or anyone else and offered me no restitution. I had to call several times over the next several weeks to get my refund processed. During that time, I was told 3 different dates that the refund had been submitted. Clearly they either didn't know what they were talking about, or misrepresented things to me. I ultimately had to call Costco to get them to call Generator Supercenter to process my refund. You should consider these questions if you're thinking about doing business with Generator Supercenter: 1. If an installation that I've had several other companies say they can do for the same price is too complicated for Generator Supercenter, can you trust them to do an even standard quality installation for you? 2. Do you want to wait 9 months, only to be told they've decided not to move forward with your project? You'll be going through another hurricane season without a generator. 3. Do you want thousands of dollars tied up while you wait to have your project cancelled, with no offer of interest or any restitution for not having those funds available to you during those months? 4. Do you want to waste your time repeatedly calling them to get an update on your project? A customer-oriented company would be proactively keeping you updated. 5. Do you want to have to continually call to get the refund that is due to you? 6. With their lack of customer-focus, can you expect them to be helpful or responsive after your project is done and paid for? Following my experience with Generator Supercenter, I spoke with some other generator companies and they said my experience with Generator Supercenter is not uncommon from what they have heard from others customers that came to them after having a terrible experience with Generator Supercenter. I also contacted Costco to file a complaint and recommended they drop Generator Supercenter as a supplier because the quality and service from Generator Supercenter is negatively impacting the Costco brand and reputation. Save yourself a lot of frustration and wasted time and choose another company. read more

A generator is one of the things you purchase for your home that you don't think about till it doesn't work when you need it. We have had our whole home generator about a year and all systems checked out working well till we got notice on the app that the system needed to be checked. We spoke with Rachelle in the service department who promptly scheduled us with a service appointment. She was knowledgeable and courteous. Derek was promptly at our home the next day. He diagnosed the issue quickly and provided detailed explanation as to what the issue was. I'm giving generator supercenter a two out of five, which initially started as a one out of five star. Installers had to be pulled the first day due to rain and the two photos of them peeing in my backyard. Second crew installation, put the regulator on backwards and upon owner start up, the unit would not run. Manager took the courtesy to return my call and offered me a discount for the situation as well as her apologies for the unprofessionalism. Owners training was late on the day scheduled and after all of these issues, the owner of generator supercenter still has not contacted me with a phone call. EDIT: THE METAL STRAPS THAT HOLD THE GENERATOR IN PLACE HAVE ALREADY RUSTED IN LESS THAN A YEAR!!! You can't find my account, but you sure can find that credit card on file to charge every month! If I could leave negative stars I would. The entire process has been very stressful and lacking communication. They didn't call before digging and cut our internet wire. My yard has been left in shambles for over 2 weeks. They claim they can not fill in the trenches for another week, and it is totally a muddy mess. Access to my back yard is restricted due to the mountains of mud and dirt. They then blame the weather and when I asked why they didn't wait until the weather was better they deflect the blame onto me saying that I could have rescheduled. How was i supposed to know that I could have rescheduled. It took them almost 4 months to get out here to install. Also, the lack of communication is unacceptable. After repeated calls and unanswered emails I finally get some answers by calling a different department. They NEVER returned any of my calls and NEVER answered emails. After install we had a gas leak and it was not addressed for 2 days. This entire process has been beyond stressful. What should have been a time of assurance was a time of uncertainty. I simply can not wait another week for them to come back and fill in the trenches and will be doing it myself. I have contractors working on the back of my home on hold because they are unable to access the back yard and dogs that are rolling in mud and dirt piles. Do not do business with this company! Customer service and business practices are horrible. I ended my monitoring agreement in Dec, 2025, and was assured that my card on file would be removed. The card on file was required for recurring monthly monitoring service--which was a joke because they did not monitor my generator--I did--and then had to call them only to speak with someone who was clueless! On 3/2/26 my bank account account was debited by the company $400+ and unbeknownst to me. I called to inquire and was informed that a part was replaced last October and it was not covered through the warranty. I did not receive any notification of this pending charge nor did the company have authorization to use my card after my monitoring contract ended in Jan 2026. This most recent experience is only one of many--I had repeated errors on the unit, repeated service visits by GSC technicians who were nice but inexperienced. Each one gave us different explanations for the error messages. I paid over $1000 out of pocket for the controller board to be replaced, was assured that the problem was fixed, still had error messages, called service department, different technician out, different explanation for error...last technician out replaced the starter which corrected the problem (so far). The controller board did not need to be replaced but I had to pay for it anyway. In summary, I paid out of pocket for parts/service that were not needed and then charged again for parts/service without any explanation and without authorization to use my card that was suppose to have been removed/destroyed but wasn't! read more

We received a call that an alert was received concerning the generator. We had to change their possible appointment and I spoke with Desaray Pena. She explained the possible reasons and changed our appointment day. I wanted to write down the possible reasons since I'd forgotten what she said, and she was very sweet to give me time to write them down. When I asked for the time frame of the appointment, she even laughed when I said it's always like midnight to noon, or noon to midnight. Generator supercenter review After waiting all day for our 3 o'clock appointment, Elijah from the company called at 1:30 and canceled Jason Stoops' appointment with us. I am very disappointed  in your companies customer service, and in Jason Stoop, your representative. This appointment was made on August 5th, over a month ago! It was for a total walk through and quote to have  Generac generator installed.  I told Elijah that Jason Stoops had called earlier today and  wanted to change the time and come almost 2 hours earlier than scheduled appt. and when we could't, he said ok, but then  must have had Elijah call and cancel it, this is unacceptable! Would give 0 stars- 1) Beware- the "total" price you docusign is not the total price. They charged me $1200 more than the invoice I signed saying it's additional taxes to someone else not them. So if their estimate is lower than others, it prob actually isn't. 2) You have to sign a waiver allowing their crew to do whatever damage they want to your yard and sprinkler for a $205 landscaping credit. The crew chopped up my sprinkler pipes in multiple places at it cost me $400 to fix. GS said I'm legally bound to the waiver I signed. (Funny- I guess I'm not legally bound to the price I signed for. ) 3) Once they sell you a product, they have no motivation to offer good service (not returning calls) -- so glad I didn't buy the service plan after reading all the consistently terrible reviews. read more
