I set up the first maintenance of my Kohler all house generator with A&A GenPro. My electrician referred them to me. The staff were very courteous and made my appointment in a timely manner. We had a sales person (Matt) came for an estimate for standby home generator on April 30, 2026. We signed the contract and paid for a deposit with credit card. We applied for their Synchrony Bank payment plan with no interest for 18 months. After sales guy left I checked the location of the proposed area and saw that there is a vent there. I called and emailed him. He said he didn't know what type of vent but the generator is vertically 5' away from the vent and 5' away from a window. However, the generator is NOT 5' horizontally from the vent. We also told GenPro sales guy it takes 30 days for HOA approval. GenPro emailed us the estimate on May 5. I applied for permit with HOA on May 5 after talking to sales guy and receiving his drawn in generator in my pictures that I sent him. Meanwhile I emailed our builder (May 3) and independent home inspector (May 6) to find out what type of vent is near the proposed location. We thought the fresh air intake vent is on the roof. It took them a few days and we received replies on May 6. They confirmed that it is the fresh air intake vent. So when the generator emits carbon monoxide it would travel approximately 59-60" up into the fresh air intake. Yes I took into account the concrete pad and the top of the generator. I measured the vertical distance from the height of the generator to the bottom of the vent. On May 6, their install team emailed and said they would do installation on May 18. I told GenPro to hold off on everything as I am waiting for HOA approval and I am not comfortable with the proposed location and need to do more research. This was the same day I received replies from builder and home inspector. GenPro then sent a field supervisor to my house on May 8 to answer questions. He said GenPro would move the location further along the wall and we would not have to pay for the extra electrical and gas trenching cost. This would mean there is about 20' between the generator and AC where we can't push the lawnmower in. We have a narrow lot. We do not feel this is best for us. In addition when time comes replacing the AC unit would have to be lifted above the generator. There is no gate on the side with the AC and proposed generator. Meanwhile Synchrony Bank charged us 50% of the balance on May 1 (over $6,000). I received an email of the CC balance on the account and it is due 6-2-2026. I did not receive the Synchrony credit card in the mail until May 11 and have not even activated the credit card. I have emailed GenPro on May 11 to cancel, request deposit refund and charge back to the Synchrony amount. I have not heard from them. BEWARE of this company. The sales team just cared about making the sale. If I had not questioned the proposed location GenPro would have installed the generator at a location that is UNSAFE and possible leading to death. GenPro does sloppy work. I had to have Center Point come out after Genpro installed the whole system for a routine checkup. The gas pipe work was only hand tightened. The Center Point serviceman had to redo the whole setup to tighten it. He spent over an hour to fix it. I did not stay with Genpro because they wanted way more for annual service, more than twice as much. Someone at Genpro crossthreaded the oil filter. He had a real problem trying to get the oil filter off. I am now with someone else for service with my generator. read more

my 20 K Cummins generator is failing to auto exercise weekly. I called and asked a repair and it's $185 diagnostic fee that is not included in the just to come out for a generator I paid about $12,000 for. This is horrible service especially when I pay them $38 a month for maintenance. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Stay away because they're just after your money. read more

I just got my mother in law's breaker panel serviced. I learned from the inspector from center point, and the electrician that gen pro installed the transfer switch wrong, and not to code. Had to get it right. I'm very happy for the very good catch this electrician made. Beware. My mother in law has and still is a customer of gen pro for years now. They come twice a year and do preventative maintenance, but the generator they installed would not come on like they advertised. The house we purchased in 2016 had a generator that had been service by GenPro. I continued to pay for the quarterly maintenance service with the hopes of always having power when we needed it. Unfortunately, this insurance plan did not work. On the last quarterly service call, in May, i was told that the technician could not transfer the power. They sent out a master service technician to assess the problem. He said he had an idea of what the issue is, but I would need to authorize the scope of work. Several weeks passed before anyone called, even though i had placed several calls to confirm the scope of work. On my last call, i was told the person who confirms the scope of work had been out and will get to me at some point. I hoped that the quarterly service appointments would prevent what happened today....No Power. I even had someone from A&A come out to quote me the cost of a brand new generator...as of last Wednesday, I'm still waiting. my review comes 2 yrs late. The entire purchase and set-up process 2 yrs ago was horrible. no communication keeping me updated on site prep; delivery; scheduling and most importantly financing. I was told initially they offered a 0% interest for 12 months, but 6 months later when the generator was finally installed they said that offer was no longer available and my options were cash or check only and if paying with a credit card OR debit card they would add on 3% - on an $18k generator that's another $540. they also got into my meter without proper approval with center point which is a complete violation. when center point came out the guy told me this company continues to break rules. fast forward and paying monthly maintenance program for bI-annual service calls, I have to call and chase down someone to get out here. with each 6 months they are 2-3 months late and I never receive a call to schedule. they were fine calling and emailing constantly to get me to sign up and pay the monthly maintenance though. stay away from this company - very unprofessional. read more

Installed in February 2016. Has to be one of the best generator companies we've ever dealt with. From the awesome sales team, great customer service, and really good generator service. This company by far has been outstanding. They are really good at keeping my generators regular maintenance above my expectations. Very knowledgeable on any questions I have. We got the added communications on the Cummins generator for remote monitoring and communicating between the generator and the companies office. If ever the generator is showing signs of service needed or maintenance, the office notifies me and gets it done! Even with tight spaces or complicated locations for install, they are able to handle it. Very reputable and definitely dependable. I'll say this even 7 years after purchase! During the major ice storm, our generator was pre-checked before storm and did amazing! We actually had friends stay with us and we ran extension cords from our house to the neighbors across the street! We were without power for several days. The generator did amazing. Great generators. Reasonable prices. Awesome service. Good communication. Best generator company in Houston! We couldn't be happier with our purchase and install and annual service we have with A & A Genpro! If I could rate with 0 stars I would. I had the same experience everyone else has had after Beryl. I am existing customer, had an outage, no call backs, no service. They finally sent someone out a full 3 weeks after I started calling and now I have been waiting 2 weeks for an estimate, much less a repair time. Today, I canceled our service and have gone elsewhere. I am told a new generator will take months to actually hook up from this company. There are plenty of alternatives in Houston to go to. Don't waste your money with this one. read more

Worst generator company ever. I have paid for monthly monitoring and maintenance with them for several years. When the power failed after the storm one of my generators didn't come on. They didn't return repeated phone calls for several days and then couldn't schedule an appointment for 2 more days. In the meantime we found someone else who gave us advice to get it going again. The technician finally came out and did NOTHING and charged us $185. Two days later the other generator failed. Again, no return phone calls. I found another company that came out same day. I have had a long-standing maintenance agreement with AAGenpro as we purchased our generac whole house generator from them. Our generator stopped working Tuesday July 8 after Hurricane Beryl hit. I called them 4 times and left messages with their unknowlegable answering service. Each time I called I also emailed service@aagenpro.com like they said to do. Thursday July 11 at 1:00PM. I got a call back from Lisa Feldhaus who said she could get someone to me on Friday but could not verify a time. Friday July 12 I called and emailed Lisa and the answering service cheerfully told me to stand by my phone for a return call. I never got a call or email to update me when I would get service. It is now Saturday July 13 and I called again and left a message "Please communicate with me!". i said the same thing in another email. So far nothing. What have I been paying for all these years? I would not recommend this company to anyone at this point. I feel ripped off. They have sold way to many service warranties than they can possibly service and won't even communicate with you. We have an older generator that came with the home that we purchased. To get the generator up and running, we contacted A&A GenPro to come out and get it running again. The first time they came out they had it running, but it stopped. So, we had them come out a second time to fix it and they change the filters, oil, battery, etc. to get it running again. They ran it for 30 minutes and left. They charged us for each visit which ended up being over $500 for the repair. A few months later we noticed that the generator wasn't running it's recharge cycle and it wasn't turning on anymore. We called A & A again to come out to see if they could figure out why it wasn't working. They insisted on charging us another $176 trip charge to diagnose the problem. After spending over $500 for repairs I would think that a reputable business would not try to nickel and dime their customers every time to come out and see what the problem is. We were even willing to pay for any additional repairs on the unit if it was needed. Speaking to their office, they flat out refused to come out and see what the problem is without charging a $176 trip & diagnostic fee. We as a consumer cannot keep paying trip fees to make sure that A&A GenPro can get their repair correct. They are not willing to warranty their service beyond 30 days and will have extremely poor customer service discussing it with you. As we see it now, it is $500 that we spent that was completely wasted. I will never use this company again and I urge others to be aware. If they service your unit, hope any additional issue occurs within 30 days. If they don't fix your problem, be prepared to pay a trip fee every time the come out to "fix" your generator. We purchased a 20K generator from them June 2020. it was installed September 2020. When the first powered it on, it sounded like a jack hammer and they turned it off. We were told that a senior tech would have to look at it. A week later, the tech showed up and according to him the valves needed to be adjusted. Generator still didn't run as quite as we were led to believe. The tech wanted to come back in a few months to check on. When he came back out, another adjustment was made. After the ice storm of 2021 we called to get is serviced. They showed up and said everything was good. Now September 2021 I called again for the oil change. Lisa informed me there would be a service charge. When we bought the generator we were told that we would get two services free. Apparently when the tech came back out to check on his work that was considered one call and the other one was after the ice storm. I then explained there were a few issues I wanted addressed that should be covered under warranty. A tech was sent and he started the generator. He asked how long had it sounded this way. I told him it had always sounded like that. So another tech was sent, video was taken, and they replaced the entire until in November 2021. In March 2022 the battery died. Apparently they took the one out of the old unit and placed in the new one. When I called, I was told the battery was only warranted for one year (Cummins web site says 18 months). Purchased our own battery, since AaGenPro was going to charge $170 for the battery plus a service call. Now in July 2022, the generator started to sound different so we called. Tech showed up, turned on the generator, and informed us everything was good. A week later we get bill for $280. When I called Lisa never told us what the base charge was, nor were we told we had to pay gas and travel time for the tech. I tried talking to Lisa, but as usual she becomes combative when you question anything. I emailed Andrew and after some back and forth the gas and travel time charge was removed. Now this past week the generator failed to start. Checked the battery and it was dead. Got a replacement and three days later it was dead. I called Cummins and they said the battery charger was most likely defective. I emailed Andrew and have yet to get a response. Will be checking with other authorized service companies next week. Generator is still under the 7 year extended warranty that AAGenPro sold us. It's just a shame they treat their customers like this. Plus side no storms in the gulf right now. read more

It was clear to me that the other 2 companies sent out "sales" people that weren't as knowledgeable about generators overall, getting the right size and the install process. This is critical. The install is a big chunk of the price. One guy from a large company here in town, was flat out wrong on the best way to install and that made his quote 30% higher.
