We ended up picking up and sharing a pint as it was more gelato than 2 small portions and we had earned it! The Ferraro Rocher was delicious. We ate every last bit! They were quick, but I didn't feel like they were very warm or friendly. I tried the green apple flavour, and it was amazing. I might have to get that next time. I got a kiddie cone of Ferrero Rocher, and it was perfect. The flavour was just like the name, and there were even pieces of Ferrero Rocher in it. If you're there in the summer, try to eat it soon after you get it because it'll start melting and dripping everywhere pretty quickly. There's paid street parking right outside the store and under the building. But, if you're looking for slightly cheaper parking, I'd suggest driving a little further to Marine Parade Drive.

I genuinely think this place has the most underrated & DELICIOUS gelato in the GTA. This is also coming from someone who has tried the most popular spots downtown & elsewhere. The quality is unmatched, pricing per portion is reasonable, and half of their flavors rotate according to what's in season so it's hard to get bored! Dairy & non dairy options are available as well. The texture is smooth, creamy, not overly sweet, and made in-house with high quality ingredients you can taste. You can sample max 2 flavors & also buy their products pre-portioned to take home or give as a gift. In my opinion they've got the best TRUE pistachio gelato of you're into that. Some notable flavors I've tried that I highly recommend are yogurt, yuzu cheesecake, blueberry, and asian pear. I also love that they give you a little waffle cone shard if you order a cup.

I finally had the chance to try Futura as I rsvp-ed for their first ever granita morning (did you know...granita for breakfast is a Sicilian/Southern Italy tradition?!). The store is primarily take out only although they do have some bar seats (and some stools) indoors. They also have a small standing bar outside if you want to enjoy your treats outside. I am sure the place gets busy as they only open from Thurs to Sun, during the evening/night times. Making my way to Futura Granita and Gelato, I was excited to see what flavours they would have for the granita breakfast. I arrived around 8:45am where there were already customers inside and outside enjoying their treats, however, it was still pretty quiet. I stepped inside and immediately became overwhelmed by the flavour choices (Tito Toronto was also there selling their baked pastries that day as well so I was doubly overwhelmed!). I opted to get a piccolo size (2 flavours) and chose 2 granita flavours of my choice (lemon and coffee). I decided to also get a brioche as well. Asked to eat my granita breakfast there and it was prepared quickly. Enjoyed my treats at the bar inside. The warm brioche was a great touch as I dipped it into the cold icy granita. A lovely combination where the lemon flavour also was really tart and sour! Service wise, staff were friendly and efficient. I can tell that some customers there already were regulars where the owners were quite friendly and talkative with them. Overall, a great place for granita that I'm already thinking about when I can return to try more flavours. Such a delicious treat on a summer day!

It already started melting before we even sat down (and it was not a hot night). Some flavours were also questionable, like the avocado. We ended up going with the safer options: espresso and salted caramel. Caramel is fine but we couldn't get over some weird chunks in the espresso. Now onto the service. The staff was not paying attention and a quick conversation about the order had to be repeated a few times. But what we observed and heard was a blatant safety violation. While scooping, the cup fell back into the freezer and landed on another gelato (I.e. one gelato fell into another gelato flavour). They took that cup aside and scooped a new cup. But I overheard the discussion between the employees on what to do and they said they would be scooping the gelato back into the tray to be sold on the next day. This is disgusting and unsanitary. I won't come back after hearing what they said.

I opened the door and walked in. I got the nicest greeting from the woman behind the counter. I wanted gelato. She asked whether I had any allergies. I said that I'd prefer to not have any dairy in my gelato. She pointed me to the dairy-free gelato and took the time to let me know what each flavour was. There were cone and cup sizes for gelato. I went with a medium cup, which allowed me to select up to three flavours. I got the following gelato: - Lemon - Coconut - Canteloupe She asked if I had any egg allergies. I don't. She put a piece of pizzelle in my gelato. It was a nice touch. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and tipped. I thanked her and left the store. I decided to walk over to my car to put my plushies away. Although humid, I decided to head back to this store and sit on the patio. It was quiet and nice. The woman at this store works hard. She was cleaning the windows and asked me how I liked the gelato. The cantaloupe is the real deal. It's the natural sweetness of the cantaloupe in frozen form. She was sweet checking in with me. The same goes for the coconut and lemon flavours. The former had a hint of coconut flake texture in the gelato that I loved. I'm a huge coconut fan and this gelato was perfect. The lemon was tart and yummy. I am also a huge lemon person. A couple came over and hitched their dog's leash to the metal fence. The man asked if my gelato was good. It was excellent. Their dog ended up looking through the glass to see what the owners were doing. I realized that my sitting on the patio made folks come into the store. Who knew that I'd be a sitting gelato magnet... haha! This find was awesome! I look forward to returning to try more gelato flavours. This place also has coffee in hot and iced forms.
