David and the rest of the crew made our snorkel trip really fun. My kids, 10 and 5, pretty much chickened out when we actually got in the water, but we all enjoyed the ride. My husband and I went on the sunset cruise and it was enjoyable. The staff was courteous and nice and seemed pretty strong at sailing. The reason I give this an average score is the boat was older and not equipped to have all the passengers sitting up top on seats. We went on Alii Nui days before so this boat doesn't really compare. Also, we waited until the line calmed down before going down to get food and they were all out of everything except chips and some chicken. If you are looking for a fun sailing tour with good food and excellent service, book Gemini. We are in our late sixties and enjoyed every minute. Briana and the captain, Brad, with a 3rd assistant made us feel very safe, even though it was a little windy and more difficult to get on and off. The BBQ chicken and mixed drinks were better than at our expensive Luau at the Hyatt. If you are undecided between a Luau and a sailing tour on the Gemini, the sailing tour is much more fun and the food is better. read more

Our family has been traveling to Hawaii for over 20 years. It is a family tradition that we do the Gemini snorkeling trip every time we go to Maui. This month was no different. Not only do we love the snorkeling but the lunch they provide is so good! (loved the new pork and cabbage dish!) The drinks aren't bad either! This was the best snorkeling tour we have been on. The crew was very friendly and engaging. We loaded the vessel on the beach in Ka'anapali and cruised to Honolua Bay Marine Preserve where the snorkeling was incredible. They served a nice meal and we sailed back. A great four hour tour! read more

We did the sunset sail and had a fabulous time. This company actually unfurls the sails whereas some of the other companies that were out at the same time used motor power. We wanted to take a romantic sunset sail while visiting Maui. There was supposed to be hot and cold appetizers, but the crackers and chips were stale, the cheese was warm and the drinks weren't all that great. There are better ways to spend your sunsets while on the island and not as pricey. read more

We had an awesome whale watching trip with the Gemini crew. They had a naturalist on board who was very knowledgeable and the boat picked us up right in front of our hotel (Westin Maui). We saw many whales breaching, mothers and calves. A really great show. It was also nice that there were no other boats around. The only caveat is that in rougher seas since there is no dock, it was challenging for older people to board and disembark while wading through the surf. read more

Really enjoyed the Whale watching and snorkel tour from Kannapali beach. Tour was prompt on time departure. Lived up to my expectation around boat accommodations, lunch, whale watching, drinks, and snorkel. We saw lots of whales enroute to the snorkel spot. This is a good excursion option. My wife and I booked a Gemini tour with another couple we were traveling with, and let me tell you- we'd do it again and again in a heartbeat. After taxes and fees, the tour came out to about $155 a person, and it was worth every penny. The Gemini boat is in mint condition. The boat captain and his staff were so fun and professional. We purchased the 4-hour cruise, which picks you up on the beach, drives about an hour north to Honolua bay for world-class snorkeling, then feeds you lunch and sails back down south (motor is off during the sailing). We went during February, which is the start of peak whaling season, so we also got a free whale watching cruise on our way. An all-you-can-drink bar is open after snorkeling, and they've got beer/wine/champagne and a couple cocktails. The lunch buffet was surprisingly good and included white fish, chicken, bread/rolls, and fruit/veggies. Highly, highly recommended. read more

We had an awesome time on the Gemini snorkel charter. Departing from kaanapali was super easy and seamless, and once we were on the boat we heard a quick introduction from the friendly crew and were then free to move about the boat and sit wherever we wanted. On our way up to honolua bay we actually sailed with over 100 spinner dolphins and that was an incredible experience! The snorkeling was great, we enjoyed the food and the open bar, and sailing on Maui with music playing and the waves splashing was an experience we will never forget! Sunset sail on Gemini- fabulous!! Crew is very attentive. Nice variety of beverages- we recommend the mai tais! Pupus were delicious, and abundant amounts. Scenery is magnificent. As soon as we set sail, we were greeted by a large herd of gymnastic dolphins. The secret sonar spy type of dolphins, not the sandwich meat type. After these show offs did their routine which was at least a 9.5, we cruised along the scenic coast of Maui sipping on complimentary cocktails and snacking on a gourmet spread provided by someone like Bobby Flay or Gordon Ramsay or maybe Oprah's private chef. This was a sunset cruise and boy, did it deliver. I'm pretty sure the sunset was celebrating gay pride because there were so many colors! The crew were friendly and had more aloha than an Oompa Loompa on a chocolate overdose. Also, they provided free reef safe sunblock to save your skin from turning Donald Trump orange and the reefs from the toxic chemicals so the fish will hang around when the Gemini is out on a snorkel tour. I wish I could live on this boat. The only downfall was that you cannot access it with rollerblades on! read more

We had a fantastic day with Gemini yesterday. The boat was so nice, the crew was pleasant and knowledgeable. The food was SO good, it wasn't stuffed with people, and was a wonderful day spent. They took us to a little cove, where we even saw whales and Jenny was able to share all of her knowledge with us. I was impressed. I would recommend them, and do business with them again. Trip itself was terrific; organization a disaster. Emailed to confirm participation. No answer. Drove to the address where we were supposed to meet. It's a Westin Hotel with no place to park. Eventually paid $20 to get into a parking garage in the area. Then phoned the company asking where they were. Waited and waited and got more and more worried. Then a friendly guy on a bench told me you had to walk to the beach behind the Westin. Tried this. No obvious way. Inside the hotel at the front desk they told me how to get to the beach Got to the beach. A Westin tours booth showed me where Gemini was. I thought for sure I had lost this tour. These guys are just dreadful. BUT, the trip was worth the pain. read more

You won't be disappointed! We booked a snorkeling trip on a referral from a friend. On the way we happened upon a humpback with its calf. The captain slowed down so we could watch the baby play in the water. He could've easily drove right through since it was a snorkeling trip and try to sell a whale watching trip if we were interested. That wasn't the case at all! We were told we could watch the whales for a while and shorten our snorkeling or continue on to snorkel. We were all excited to watch the baby so stuck around for a while. One of the crew members was very knowledgeable about the whales. He would tell us where to look and what side of the boat we should be on. He knew about how old the baby was (2 months!) and gave us a little bit of history about whale migration in that area. The snorkeling area water was clear so easy to see the many fish. We were also told to go to a general area for a "turtle cleaning station." There were turtles on the bottom with lots of fish cleaning the algae off of their shells. The staff was very professional and you could tell enjoyed their jobs. Party music along the way with great snacks and an awesome lunch. It was definitely worth the money and when I return to Maui I will definitely book a trip with them again. read more

Love these guys! Third time we've sailed with them. Very nice clean boat with both inside and outside seating. Possible to bring a baby as there is plenty of space inside the cabin area. Would suggest baby carrier (ergo, bijorn etc) to get up the latter while boarding. Wonderful hot lunch and drinks after snorkeling. Highly recommend!!! read more

Fabulous staff, catamaran, good food and the whales were literally beside our boat. We took the 2 hour sunset cruise with heavy Pupu (finger food) leaving from Kaanapali beach. The staff was funny, professional, helpful and highly trained. We were briefed on safety, expectations and the whole process while on the beach. They then successfully loaded us all, one-by-one, on to the catamaran. It was full sailing from the there on out. We saw whales, up close and personal, while enjoying Mai Tais and pupu. The crew was very informative, any question asked was answered...and answered well...funny guy too! I will use their company again as I want to snorkel with the turtles next time. Just took our second trip on the Gemini. What an amazing time! We took the snorkeling trip and it was fantastic. The boat is wonderful, easy to get on and off, and very spacious. Love the demon stairs area is still open air. If you want a break from the sun you don't feel too enclosed. The staff was fantastic. We took our 18 month old on the tour and everyone was so sweet and thoughtful towards us. We even stopped a few times to watch all the nearby whales. Staff was helpful with all the equipment and snorkeling tips. Would highly recommend this boat and crew to anyone looking to have the best experience on the water in all of Maui! read more
