Very disappointed in the service. I paid extra for pictures and GoPro package. There was 5 in my group so the first group was 2, (my aunt and cousin) and the next group up was me, my nana, and my aunt. I know they must have forgotten to take close up pictures of us because the first picture of us isn't until we are tiny specks in the sky with zero way of knowing who we even are. There are plenty of great close up pictures of my aunt and cousin who went before us and I'm the one who booked and paid for this whole experience and these pictures are just disappointing. An acknowledgment would have been nice or at least taking pictures of us on the boat like they did my aunt and cousin, but nope there are ZERO close up decent pictures of me, my nana, and my aunt. They didn't even know what package I had. I had to check my email and verify with them that yes I had indeed purchased the camera and GoPro package. I was looking forward to uploading the SD card and viewing the pictures... now I just have to remember the other activities we did that will make up for this lousy experience. Look at the difference between pictures of the 2 groups.

Long story short: Great customer service (minus the unfriendly, older white lady who checked us in), fun experience, but definitely overpriced.. The boyfriend, sis, and I signed up for the 3-person tandem 800 parasail, which I didn't even know existed! I've gone parasailing in Oahu and the one I went to only offers a max of 2 people, so that was a cool option. The employees on both boats were super cool! We asked one of the local guys on the way back if he knew of any good low-key beaches that were walking distance from the dock. He recommended baby beach and we loved it there! Only 2 reasons why I'm docking one star was the customer service I received when I initially called to make the reservations. The lady wasn't very pleasant and had attitude the whole time. Then when we checked in, I'm pretty sure it was the same lady who I spoke to on the phone. Also, their prices are pretty high compared to Oahu.

AMAZING experience with Capt Joel and Keanu. So safe, knowledgeable, and friendly. I took my 7 yo l, who was afraid at first but loved it by the time we touched back down on the boat after approx 8 mins air time. We will definitely do it again. Online and call-in specials offer certain discounts - early bird, adult-child tandem, etc. Bring a GoPro or other small waterproof camera that you can operate with one hand... and be sure to enjoy the experience! To ensure that you do, opt for the $30 photo package, which includes high res photos taken by a crew member and stored on your very own SD card. T-shirts, tank tops, and UV shirts are offered for sale upon conclusion of your trip. No hard sell. Depending on the time of day, you may get wet, so you may want to bring a towel, but no biggie if you don't - it may be refreshing!

We had a great outing with West Maui this morning. They are all about safety, and they are so efficient with handling newbies. We got a great view of the water and islands, got to dip our feet for a tad, and we purchased their photo option and can't wait to go home to see the photos (given to you on what I think is smart media card). Everyone was super nice and I highly recommend a parasailing outing with them.

Had a wonderful time Parasailing with this company. Wonderful experience, very peaceful in the air. Everything from the booth to the boat was enjoyable. Highly recommend!!!

Went parasailing today and everyone was wonderful! Cierra got us checked in and then we got to go on the taxi boat, the dolphin. Our captain was Sue and she had great knowledge of the island and was very friendly. The crew was Jen and she was very nice as well. Once we got to our parasail boat called Cloud 9, Captain Andrew explained that winds were a little strong and we drove around until we found a good area to parasail. James helped everyone get ready and took awesome photos during our flight! Be sure to ask for a dip! It was so fun and refreshing. A great time, well worth it!

My husband and I went parasailing during our honeymoon in September and we had a great time! The crew was friendly and had a chill vibe about them. They were very informative so I felt comfortable. We even got to see 2 dolphins swim by as we were waiting for our turn to parasail! It was so peaceful being up in the air and enjoying the gorgeous views. It truly was an amazing experience that I'll never forget. We definitely plan on parasailing again whenever we go on another trip to Maui.

The parachute is smiling, I may or may not have been.

If you find yourself in Maui and you are looking for an adrenaline-rush, this may be for you. This was my second time going parasailing, and It's definitely an adventure. I will start off by saying if you are afraid of heights, this may not be an excursion you may want to select. If you are daring and want to conquer that fear, I say go for it and live the experience. Parasailing in Maui is a great way to get a birds eye view and totally different vantage point of what you can't see from the ground. When going with West Maui Parasail, you load into a boat with a few other small groups and make your way to an open area on the water just off of the shoreline. They take 2 riders at a time and secure you with harnesses to ensure your safety. The crew are all very nice and will gladly take pictures of you from your camera or phone while you are parasailing above the open water. They offer an 800 or 1200 which correlates to approximately 38 or 50 stories off from the boat. Either way you will be way out there and there's no need to panic, just breathe and enjoy the view. This is great for couples, families or anyone looking for some fun in the sun. I will definitely be back my next time in Maui.

I've parasailed from off the shore (old school style) and this was really great, defiantly do the dip! You won't regret it! We met great people and the guys captain Zack and kalani ( sorry if I got your name wrong) were friendly, personable and good at their jobs.

So much fun! From the online reservation and check-in to the water taxi and experience itself, we had an absolute blast!! If you get the 1,200 foot sail, it comes out to $200 after tax. Be aware that the photo package is $30 (VERY WORTH IT!) and it's customary to tip your crew ($20?). So, budget about $250 for two people for the 1,200' flight. The flight itself was amazing. I was stunned at how quiet it is once you're in the air and off the boat. You could easily have a whispering conversation with the person next to you. The water is so blue when viewed from directly above. It was serene! Even my wife, who doesn't like flying (commercial, or in a small plane with me at the controls), enjoyed it once we were in the air. Being on the boat with other groups of people who were also parasailing was fun. Everyone exuded joy the entire time! It was very clear to us that everything is very well-choreographed. The coordination between crew was excellent and the instructions were very clear. If you can sit and stand under your own power, you are able-bodied enough to go parasailing. Make sure to wear sunscreen!

My friend Kim's first time parasailing - what a hoot!!

Great adventure for beginners and those that have parasailed multiple times! West Maui Parasail is a top notch company from booking the adventure to checking in and then the actual excursion. Five of us decided on a last minute parasailing adventure and luckily they had room for us. Since it was last minute I had to call to book but their website was easily navigated and the phone service was super friendly. We were greeted by name when we walked up to the little stand which was pretty neat! Not many groups of five for that time slot I suppose but it was still cool to be greeted that way! Easy paperwork, all highlighted and ready to sign, along with a quick video of instruction and we were ready to go! The entire crew was very friendly and outgoing, all wanting to make it the best experience they could. There were four first timers in our group and they had so much fun with them it made the whole group light hearted and excited. Hubby and I have been several times and when we've gone tandem we've been told they can't dip us due to weight restrictions. Not this time!! The friends we were with asked them to give us the dip of our lives and boy oh boy did they! Haven't laughed that hard in a long time! This was probably the best parasailing experience we've ever enjoyed and I highly recommend West Maui Parasail!

Ka'anapali Parasailing was AMAZING!! I was referred to this…read morecompany by a previous tourist and am SO GRATEFUL! So first, a few things... *Formerly known as Maui West (so you can read those reviews too) *Look for the big smiley face chute! (There are several other parasailing companies in the area so this is how you tell them apart!) *Find them at the beach at the end of Whaler's Village. They have a couple umbrellas set up in the sand which is your meeting point. *Not only did we love our Captain Dani and deckmate James, but the peeps setting it all up on the beach were SO LOVELY (shout out to the gal who knew Apple Hill!) and I also received a super fast response from whomever handles the online inquiries. Just really great customer service throughout!* What you need to know: *You are going to have THE BEST time and you are in good hands! *These folks are awesome. *Their prices are reasonable! *Book direct! The concierge at our hotel was going to charge us like $200 more to sail with another company. I already knew that I wanted to sail with THIS company per the reco so we canceled THAT.... *You can book online for a small convenience fee, or for no fee, call or stop by their location on the beach! *Bring CASH to tip your captain and deckhand. *OPT FOR the Picture Package. They give you an SD card at the end with your photos. *WEAR SUNSCREEN. Since we did a morning sail and I wasn't in my bathing suit, I forgot to apply. AND MY ARMS GOT FRIED. *DO THE DIP!! Let me say this again... DO THE DIP! Even if you aren't wearing a bathing suit (I had on capris), you can still get your legs wet and it is just SO SO fun!! *You do not need to bring a towel although towels are not provided either. You just don't need one, period. *Travel light - Anything you bring aboard will be tucked at the front (bow) of the boat. This includes any and all valuables. It is perfectly fine. No one is going to touch your stuff. I had a small fanny pack with me. You can wear sunglasses or not (in the air). We did and they recommended it. Basically as long as you can look down without your glasses falling off, then you can wear them and they shouldn't fall off ;) *Shoes are not allowed on the boat. *Mornings may be a better time to sail, since winds tend to pick up in the afternoon. Our Experience: Parasailing had always been on my bucket list and I was in Maui celebrating my 50th birthday so....it seemed like the perfect time to make a memory! We booked last minute just by walking up day of at beach location. We arrived at 9:30am and were able to secure a spot on the 10am sailing. They emailed us a waiver which we signed electronically prior to sailing. There were 10 guests on the boat, plus the captain and her deckhand (Sorry, James I have no idea what your official title is! lol) You leave your shoes on the beach near the "base camp" umbrellas and jump in a skiff which brings you to the motorboat. You then "trade places" with the guests leaving the boat. Once everyone has boarded, they explain everything to you and off you go! Everyone on our boat went tandem (two people at a time). Yes, some people are nervous or afraid of heights but THEY DID IT! Brava!! The experience itself was amazing and we had a really fun group, all clapping and whooping for each other, even though moments before we were all just strangers. The music was good and you have the added benefit of a fun boat ride. I do tend to enjoy adrenaline activities but this was not that. *SPOILER ALERT* You have a little excitement as you take off but then once you are in the air, it is completely quiet and peaceful. I was not expecting that. And such a noticeable difference from the hum of the boat engine and activity. I also thought 8-10 minutes in the air didn't sound like enough but it was just the right amount. As I recommended, we did the dip at the end even though we weren't planning on it and I am SO glad we did. It was really fun. (JUST REMEMBER to keep your feet tucked back when doing so). Then they just reel you in the rest of the way and you land softly on your bum and HOORAH! you just parasailed! The entire boat trip takes about an hour and you make memories that will last FOREVER. And, one more time for those in the back..... Dani and James were amazing hosts! What a job to have! They made it fun and comfortable for all of us. I ENTHUSIASTICALLY recommend Ka'anapali Parasailing! Thanks team, for a wonderful experience! Mahalo and Aloha! Review written in July, sail date June 18 :)
