First time parasailing and we had a blast! It was three of us going up at once and none of us really knew what to expect. When we got there just look for the yellow beach umbrellas at the end of Whalers Village and they'll get you all checked in. Took a smaller raft up to the main parasailing boat and from there we waited until a couple groups ahead of us went. The team was very professional, kind and made you feel extremely safe both before and after the flight. We chose to do a dip before landing on the boat and it was a refreshing splash on a very hot day. It's a great way to experience something new but don't expect the flight to be something that gets your adrenaline going, it's honestly just very peaceful. Very disappointed in the service. I paid extra for pictures and GoPro package. There was 5 in my group so the first group was 2, (my aunt and cousin) and the next group up was me, my nana, and my aunt. I know they must have forgotten to take close up pictures of us because the first picture of us isn't until we are tiny specks in the sky with zero way of knowing who we even are. There are plenty of great close up pictures of my aunt and cousin who went before us and I'm the one who booked and paid for this whole experience and these pictures are just disappointing. An acknowledgment would have been nice or at least taking pictures of us on the boat like they did my aunt and cousin, but nope there are ZERO close up decent pictures of me, my nana, and my aunt. They didn't even know what package I had. I had to check my email and verify with them that yes I had indeed purchased the camera and GoPro package. I was looking forward to uploading the SD card and viewing the pictures... now I just have to remember the other activities we did that will make up for this lousy experience. Long story short: Great customer service (minus the unfriendly, older white lady who checked us in), fun experience, but definitely overpriced.. The boyfriend, sis, and I signed up for the 3-person tandem 800 parasail, which I didn't even know existed! I've gone parasailing in Oahu and the one I went to only offers a max of 2 people, so that was a cool option. The employees on both boats were super cool! We asked one of the local guys on the way back if he knew of any good low-key beaches that were walking distance from the dock. He recommended baby beach and we loved it there! Only 2 reasons why I'm docking one star was the customer service I received when I initially called to make the reservations. The lady wasn't very pleasant and had attitude the whole time. Then when we checked in, I'm pretty sure it was the same lady who I spoke to on the phone. Also, their prices are pretty high compared to Oahu. read more

Our captain was Sue and she had great knowledge of the island and was very friendly. The crew was Jen and she was very nice as well. Once we got to our parasail boat called Cloud 9, Captain Andrew explained that winds were a little strong and we drove around until we found a good area to parasail. My husband and I went parasailing during our honeymoon in September and we had a great time! The crew was friendly and had a chill vibe about them. They were very informative so I felt comfortable. We even got to see 2 dolphins swim by as we were waiting for our turn to parasail! It was so peaceful being up in the air and enjoying the gorgeous views. If you find yourself in Maui and you are looking for an adrenaline-rush, this may be for you. This was my second time going parasailing, and It's definitely an adventure. I will start off by saying if you are afraid of heights, this may not be an excursion you may want to select. If you are daring and want to conquer that fear, I say go for it and live the experience. Parasailing in Maui is a great way to get a birds eye view and totally different vantage point of what you can't see from the ground. When going with West Maui Parasail, you load into a boat with a few other small groups and make your way to an open area on the water just off of the shoreline. They take 2 riders at a time and secure you with harnesses to ensure your safety. The crew are all very nice and will gladly take pictures of you from your camera or phone while you are parasailing above the open water. They offer an 800 or 1200 which correlates to approximately 38 or 50 stories off from the boat. Either way you will be way out there and there's no need to panic, just breathe and enjoy the view. This is great for couples, families or anyone looking for some fun in the sun. I will definitely be back my next time in Maui. read more

We booked parasailing for our two kids, who have never gone before. We paid for the photo package. My daughter was clearly wearing the yellow wristband. First thing, they called the morning of and changed the time and location. No biggie... We can roll with it. But then they never took pictures of them. It wasn't the money. We just wanted the memories since my husband and I didn't go with them. Super disappointed and frustrated but nothing we can do to change that now. So much fun! From the online reservation and check-in to the water taxi and experience itself, we had an absolute blast!! If you get the 1,200 foot sail, it comes out to $200 after tax. Be aware that the photo package is $30 (VERY WORTH IT!) and it's customary to tip your crew ($20?). So, budget about $250 for two people for the 1,200' flight. The flight itself was amazing. I was stunned at how quiet it is once you're in the air and off the boat. You could easily have a whispering conversation with the person next to you. The water is so blue when viewed from directly above. It was serene! Even my wife, who doesn't like flying (commercial, or in a small plane with me at the controls), enjoyed it once we were in the air. Being on the boat with other groups of people who were also parasailing was fun. Everyone exuded joy the entire time! It was very clear to us that everything is very well-choreographed. The coordination between crew was excellent and the instructions were very clear. If you can sit and stand under your own power, you are able-bodied enough to go parasailing. Great adventure for beginners and those that have parasailed multiple times! West Maui Parasail is a top notch company from booking the adventure to checking in and then the actual excursion. Five of us decided on a last minute parasailing adventure and luckily they had room for us. Since it was last minute I had to call to book but their website was easily navigated and the phone service was super friendly. We were greeted by name when we walked up to the little stand which was pretty neat! Not many groups of five for that time slot I suppose but it was still cool to be greeted that way! Easy paperwork, all highlighted and ready to sign, along with a quick video of instruction and we were ready to go! The entire crew was very friendly and outgoing, all wanting to make it the best experience they could. There were four first timers in our group and they had so much fun with them it made the whole group light hearted and excited. Hubby and I have been several times and when we've gone tandem we've been told they can't dip us due to weight restrictions. Not this time!! The friends we were with asked them to give us the dip of our lives and boy oh boy did they! Haven't laughed that hard in a long time! This company ruined two days of our vacation do NOT go if there is any wind at all. The first day we were told to meet at a beach. They then drove us to somewhere else where we waited over an hour and a half. When it was finally our turn to board the boat, we went out to sea for 5 minutes before they told us it was too windy for us to go and they were cancelling all appointments for the day. They offered a 50% discount to reschedule for the next day. The second day, we were told to be 30 minutes and be exactly on time as they would be as well. We got there 30 minutes early, only to have to wait another hour to find out they were cancelling all appointments yet again. it took around 30 minutes to drive there and back each day while waiting in the hot sun in the middle of the afternoon. Do not waste your time on this company and go enjoy literally anything else instead as you will spend your Hawaii vacation waiting in the sun read more

Great experience parasailing. Having done this about 20 years ago, parasailing has definitely evolved and felt much safer. My wife and I went up. She was a little nervous but after the ride, she said she would go again - it just happened to be our last day on the island. Try to sign up as early in the morning as you can. We were the first group out at 8 a.m. and it was perfect. The winds can pick up later in the afternoon on the island, so try to get up and out in the morning. The captain and the crew were great and took good care of us. Reason for giving 3-stars - we bought the $35 SD card for them to take pictures of us while we were out and in the air. We got home to check the pictures and it was of another group on our boat. I emailed to let them know I'd like a refund. Renee asked me to mail back the SD card - which I have, but just another inconvenience. It's been a month and I still haven't received refund. Understand they want the $35 product back, but as a business I figured they'd have some profit/loss margins to be able to refund on an error and instead of making me put in the effort to resolve the situation. Moral of the story - definitely do the parasailing, but maybe don't get the SD card when they offer it on the boat. read more

Unfortunately, what could have been a perfect experience was ruined by the response we got at the end of the experience from the staff. Before our three boys went parasailing and since we weren't going we asked if there was a way we could get pictures. We were told that pictures would be "no problem" and that it would be $30 if they took the pictures, or I could come along as an "observer" for $40. I asked several times if pictures could definitely be taken if I didn't go on the trip because we really wanted photos of the boys and their experience. They said that they could definitely take the photos. I then decided that I would not go as the "observer" and take my own photos if they could take the photos which they made sound would be no problem. At the end of the trip, the kids returned and I asked how I could purchase the photos. They THEN stated that no photos were taken because I had to purchase them BEFORE they went parasailing, even though they NEVER said this. My friend who was there and I pointed out that they NEVER told us that we had to purchase the photos before they even left, and then things got a little ugly. The two other staff started aggressively insisting they had told us that, even though we knew they hadn't since we would have obviously bought them if they had said this. Our wives were there and also confirm this was not stated, but rather than just saying "sorry, we should have made that more clear," they angrily confronted us. This is not the way customer service is supposed to work. The staff ruined what could have been a great experience. The owner of this group should discuss this with the staff. I'm sure not all the staff behaves this way (I hope) but the three we confronted in Lahaina compelled us to write this review to warn others. I even mentioned to them that I would be writing a review about this encounter, and they flippantly said just "go ahead." Very poor conduct. read more

We booked the parasailing experience from Kaanapali beach. The location was perfect for us (5 min walk from our room) since we were staying at the Aston, Whaler. The captain and crew were helpful in explaining us the rules, dos, donts and emergency procedures. They were able to click pictures for us too which we could buy later. Our party had 3 people(2 adults, 1kid) in the experience and we all flew together. The equipment was solid and the sailing experience was pretty smooth. It was a memorable experience for us and would recommend if you are visiting Maui. read more

West Maui Parasailing or UFO Parasail: that was my question about this time last week. Who do I go with? We ended up selecting West Maui Parasailing and boy - I am so happy that we did! My husband and I selected the windiest, most choppy-watered day to go parasailing whilst on our honeymoon. But hey - that made it all the more fun! West Maui Parasailing is located in front of the Hyatt Spa. Note that it is a bit of a walk down from the first time you walk on to Hyatt's property (from the north side), and might take you an extra 3 - 4 minutes to get there, so plan your time wisely. Sitting under a yellow umbrella, a woman greeted us and had us sign waivers. Note: you can only bring waterproof cameras up in the air with you. No normal digitals allowed. You also need to leave your shoes land-side. We rode out to the boat of a raft-boat-type thing. I almost flew off it 'cos of the super choppy waves, but hey, it was a fun ride ;-) For the actual parasail experience itself, it was great. We were the second of four to go up that afternoon on our trip. My husband had never been before, so I think it was great for him to be able to see another group go up first. We opted to purchase the photos of us during our ride. Note: photos are taken right at the beginning and then at the end. Still, for $30 we received 131 photos of us. Amazing!! The ride itself was great. It was so calm and peaceful up there; I could have hung out up there all afternoon!! The guys working on the boat (one was Canadian and I believe the other was named Joel? Apologies - guys - my memory escapes me!) were great! Super talkative and just wonderful people, in general. I highly recommend West Maui Parasailing to anyone visiting Maui! read more

I loved this adventure with my kids. I took my eight and 10-year-old son with me and even though they were both a little nervous the team made this experience really comfortable for them. It was so peaceful. They took us in a small boat out to a larger boat where we were grouped with two other parties. Each party probably had about 10 minutes up in the air and they dipped us into the water and then brought us back into the boat. They offered picture packages and a variety of merchandise to take home with us. We bought a hat and I bought a rash guard for my son. I would totally do this again with the same company if I came back to this island. While up in the air we had the most incredible views of the water, the hotels and beaches. read more

As a Yelper I can usually find some little thing to complain about but not with these awesome folks!! We were early for our flight so they put us on an earlier boat without delay. The kind lady with the red hair was super nice when we checked in and so was the lovely lady with the purple hair and cute tats on the shuttle boat! They even showed us some purple star fish and sharks pillows that they borrowed from the ocean! It was our first time parasailing and we had a blast!! Ryan was very professional as well as fun and so was the captain who has been driving that boat for 9 years!
