Such a memorable experience!! We snorkeled mid December and it was still great weather with amazing views. We saw plenty of fish at the reef near the bird sanctuary. Plenty many swimming around us, we even saw a baby shark and a stingray! They provide snorkeling gear, floaties, boogie boards, and a water slide for those interested. The service was amazing and super helpful. They're always checking up on you and making sure all is well. They provide drinks (alcohol for 21 and above) light breakfast, and delicious lunch. They do rent weather swim jackets for $10 incase the water is cold. We got them but there was no need. read more

We had a great time going snorkling with Maui Magic. We were welcomed with breakfast. The crew was super helpful, and they have great instructions, while also explaining things about Hawaii's history, culture and the different islands. We went to Molokini first. When we went into the water, the first thing we saw was a baby blacktip reef shark, so we were super excited. We stayed in that location for about an hour and saw many tropical fish in the reef. We then went to Oneuli, where we saw a green seaturtle and plenty more fish. They served a great lunch on the boat (fish and BBQ pork tacos) and had a cocktail. We then went back to the harbor. Check-in was at 630am and we were back around noon. These snorkel trips are expensive but the one with Maui Magic is around the same price points as other good providers (~$225 per person). Great trip & creat crew! We loved each of them - Ryan was great! We had a wonderful snorkel so mahalo for making our day beautiful! We had our own gear & are experienced but if you do not or are not experienced snorkelers... they sure have nice gear on the boat with very experienced crew members who could assist you! They also have a dunk tank for your gear & nice hose for showering. At the Molokai stop ... there was lots of fishes & some spotted octopus & reef sharks. On the 2nd stop we went to the turtle feeding spot at Coral Gardens & yes, turtles a plenty for sure! They served a nice little breakfast & lunch was excellent ... I had a veggie burger with pineapple (yummy) & everyone else in our group of 4 had burgers which they said were great. They have plenty of juice, sodas & beers for after the snorkeling ... on the return Mai Tais were passed out which is always a fun treat. The crew was great to keep checking everyone - just in case there were those who might be having a bit of trouble with the waves of the boat. Well this was a plus day. If we had six stars I would have given it. 6's.. From our professional boarding process to the crew interaction with the guests, we all saw the Aloha Spirit. We went to Molokini and were the only snorkel boat there. That was an hour And then to coral gardens , an inaccessible area below the tunnel on the Pali. Another hour plus. About 100 feet vis at the crater and about 40 feet at the gardens. We had coffee n rolls for breakfast and bbq burgers n hot dogs for lunch with chips. Iced Tecates were served. Open bar. Only about 25 on board, almost like a private charter. I was the first in the water at the crater and that is a lifetime first. They are very safety conscious and only start the motors after roll call. Clean water dip tanks to rinse your gear. On board bathroom if you need it. Very Clean boat. Well mannered docking and harbor departure. I would def go back and highly recommend this boat. Live the Maui Magic!! read more

The snorkeling trip with Captain Charlene, First mate Dayton and crew member Jenna was incredible. The day was beautiful. Snorkeling at Molokini is breathtaking. The water is so blue and the different aquatic life abundant. They go to a second site and snorkel some more. My wife saw a turtle close up could see his stripes and eyes. She followed Charlene's advice of be still if you see a turtle. Dayton makes a mean Maui Wowee! Renting a wet suit from the crew is $10 and well worth it. We would definitely do it again if we come back and would rent a go pro to get some water pictures! read more

Could not be happier with our experience! The crew was very friendly and accommodating. Food: Perfect light nosh before hitting the water. You definitely don't want to be full and cramp up! Lunch was very welcomed after hours of snorkeling. Cookie treat at the end was very nice. Boat: Perfect size. Comfortable. Definitely head to the top deck for more space and beautiful views. Easy and convenient storage for your items. Snorkel/snuba: Reed was absolutely FANTASTIC! Professional, kind, and so patient with us newbies! Learning to mouth breathe with the snuba was daunting at first as it was a very unnatural feeling. But with his guidance, we eased into it within minutes. His use of the underwater etch-a-sketch to write names of things we saw was really helpful. Definitely recommend paying for the underwater camera to capture cool shots! The crew is the reason I am giving this 5 stars. I love that we had a female captain and all the history provided during the tour. Staff were exceptional and helpful. Wet suits and jackets are available to rent for $10. Equipment worked great and staff helped with questions. Molokini- saw a few fish and turtle town saw 2 turtles. I understand that the ocean is just that and some days you may experience more or less sightings. Crew made sure everyone was safe. Parking- leave a little extra time as it was a bit congested and luckily we came early for a spot. Look for the signs with QR codes to scan- you register with your license plate. read more

Went to Maui Magic with a couple of high school friends as a graduation trip from college and was super lucky to have gone on this trip. When there was a possibility that this trip would've been canceled for us, we were all heartbroken as everyone says this is the must do thing in Maui and we were so fortunate enough to have gone through this. Didn't see much sea life BUT we were extremely blessed by a sea lion monk that chose our boat in Molokini crater to dance around. It was magical and the sea lion decided to swim around me and at one point it swam on top of me and grazed me. It was so adorable. I went up to get my phone for pictures and a kind crew member helped me record so I could continue enjoying my time with the sea lion. It stayed with us and tried to climb on our little rafts spread out everywhere to rest. Our boat docked in the middle of the hoard of all the other snorkeling companies out on their morning trips, so that made me feel very safe in the case that sharks came. The crew was the best and they really knew how to cook. They also made us feel so at home and are constantly cracking jokes. I was sleepy since we had to get there at 6:30, but I looked really sea sick and the crew checked up on me twice to make sure I wasn't dying. Make sure to bring some tip for these nice people! We only saw 1 turtle though, and a massive school of black fish. The turtle was taking a nap. I actually saw 3 turtles at shore a few days before, so we did not get to see a lot of sea life. We saw a few other species of fish but they were sparse and appeared in small numbers (1-5 fish). Despite the lacking wildlife turnout, the crew made it all the better and so did the sea lion that decided to visit us! They made it hard for me to rate it lower than 5 stars. My husband and I did the Maui Magic Morning Snorkel tour on 1/13/25 and it was one of our favorite things we experienced on the trip! Captain Charlene and crew (Jenna and Dayton) were fantastic and made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. This tour would be great during any season, but we highly recommend going during the early months of the year to witness the abundance of humpback whales; truly magical! I put 1 star because I couldn't put zero. They may have had good service on board and the snorkel spots were fascinating but that doesn't hide the fact that they don't care about the people around them. I like my money valued but that doesn't hide the fact that they almost hurt some kayakers. When the boat was going, we stopped somewhere and there were a few kayakers. The boat stopped way too close and the kayakers seemed to be hanging out. It's really mean to steal someone's spot. Most people would let that go because the service on board was kinda good, but that doesn't hide the fact that they aren't very kind. Respect is a good thing to have on board... If you are thinking about booking here, just think about how many people you would hurt or ruin their day. read more

My family took a trip to Maui, and we chose Maui Magic for a snorkel day trip. It had been windy on Maui that week but the stars aligned and we had perfect weather. Everyone arrived on time, and we got out of the harbor just before 7am. They served muffins and fruit for breakfast on the way to Molokini. When we arrived, they gave a little snorkel lesson and had kickboards and flotation belts available, and also wetsuits for a fee. I went to Molokini a few years ago on a different tour operator and I remember seeing more fish back then, but I still saw a good variety here. After a short time they called us in and we moved to Turtle Town. Most people apparently saw turtles here, but I missed them, unfortunately. I had a good time swimming around though! They also set up a slide off the side of the boat for anyone interested. Then, it was time for lunch: hamburgers or veggie burgers. Beer, wine, and seltzer were available in addition to non-alcoholic beverages. A couple of bonuses... dolphins were spotted on the way to Molokini. On the trip back, the crew had their fishing lines out. One of the crew caught huge mahi-mahi. That was pretty unexpected! Overall a great day on the water in Maui! read more

I was charged with planning our daily activities and had reserved a sunrise viewing at Haleakalā National Park. While understandably romantic and checks all the blocks that my wife wanted, she overrode me and chose snorkeling at Molokini. She did the research and found this business among a few others I had discovered. We had concerns about parking given history of challenges at other pier areas so we attempted to show up a little early although arrived at 6:30am. No issues with parking. There were plenty of spaces available throughout the area, including right in front of the boat. The company name and dock number were visible right next to the road. Prior to arrival I read something about cash only parking but the machine was broken. I went to push a button and realized there was no display as I could see a cable instead of a display. Next to it, there was a sign for mobile payment options using the PayByPhone (10888) app or CallToPark app (125599) that were not a problem. We provided our name, boarded the boat, found a seat, and had some breakfast. They offered fruit pieces, muffins, and coffee aboard the boat. The water was a little choppy which I understand has caused the trip to Molokini to be canceled at times. I would've been upset had we not been able to go to Molokini and been forced to snorkel right off shore. The ride to Molokini took a bit and we circled the crater before anchoring. The water is about 30 feet deep and slopes up to the crater. There weren't as nearly as many fish, varieties, or large sizes as expected. The reef wasn't as colorful or abundant as imagined. I'm not sure if I hyped it up in my mind or was expecting this to be a prime spot considering the reef is in the middle of nowhere. We've snorkeled in Oahu and had better experiences off shore but this was a nice experience. We spent about an hour+ here at Molokini before picking up anchor and moving closer to shore to a turtle cleaning station. While transitioning, vegetable plates were available. At the turtle cleaning station there were about 6 turtles moving around, coming up to the surface, etc. The water wasn't as clear at the turtle cleaning station but it was fascinating to see the turtles in their natural habitat. While we were at the turtle cleaning station, the staff fired up the grill on the back of the boat to cook hot dogs and burgers. We were here for about 1.5 hrs enjoying the water before returning home. On the way home, they brought around mai tai's. Not a fan but it was a nice touch. There is a bathroom onboard with a sink. The number of people made social distancing possible to some degree. Of course, swimming doesn't necessarily allow for the wearing of a mask and people move about the boat and one entry/exit. Overall, a great trip. We appreciated the food, drinks, and attention. The time allowed in the water and at each location was sufficient for my wife and I. Sea sickness wasn't an issue although I had felt it on another tour which I attributed to too much time in the water bobbing up and down. I decided to snorkel, get my fill, and take a break on this tour which seemed to work for me. read more

Granted, perfect weather helps ANY water activity review, but the staff, itinerary, amenities and atmosphere of Maui Magic made this a 5-star. The crew were attentive yet relaxed. They let us hang out a little longer at the 2nd stop because of a hawksbill sea turtle sighting. Snacks, coffee, beer, wine, soda and hand poured MaiTais were nice. BBQ burgers and dogs to order was exceptional. After researching most tours available, we were glad that we chose Maui Magic. When the captain learned we wanted to SCUBA she recommended a nice, more off-the-beaten-path spot which we truly appreciated. TLDR: Great service, lots of good food, excellent snorkeling There are MANY boats that will take you to Molokini to snorkel. Here's why you should take THIS boat: The crew is exceptionally friendly and helpful - there is clearly a genuine effort to make sure you have everything you want and need. Smaller boat means less time waiting for others to get places like on and off at snorkel stops. It also means the crew members get to know and remember you, and they will check in on you throughout the day to make sure you've had plenty to eat and drink. More details: Seating: there's no inside seating, but you can find space under the canopies if you're trying to limit sun exposure. I do recommend getting there early if this is important to you as seating is first come. Our morning Molokini snorkel had a 6:30am check-in and by 6:40 most of the participants had arrived and settled in. The seats on the sides have places to stash your gear off the floor so it doesn't get wet. Most of the benches in the middle have space under the seats to place gear, but it's not off the floor. Food: Fresh fruit, Costco muffins, coffee, and other non-alcoholic drinks were available upon boarding the boat. After snorkeling Molokini, fresh veggies with ranch, muffins, and non-alcoholic drinks were handed out. At our second snorkel stop, they fired up the grill for burgers, hot dogs, and Boca burgers. They will build you their Aloha burger upon request: burger, half a hotdog sliced lengthwise, cheese, and a slice of pineapple on top of a bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and condiments on the side. We got ours no bun or cheese. We picked up a couple rolls from Maui Bread Company the day before, and they served as perfect hamburger buns. When you finish swimming at the second snorkel stop, you can enjoy Mai Tais, beers, and white claws all included with your trip. There didn't seem to be a limit, and the crew walked beers, Mai Tais, and White Claws around to all of us as we motored back to the marina from the second snorkel spot. There weren't any children on our boat, but I imagine the staff are very family friendly. That said, the boat itself doesn't have some of the things a family might be drawn to like a glass bottom or an indoor seating area. We did have a first time snorkeler in our group, and a very friendly and patient crew member took time with her one-on-one to make sure her mask fit well and to talk her through some tips and tricks. They do have wetsuit tops for rent ($5) which I recommend as it's easy to get cold when you're out there a while and you don't want to cut your swim time short because you get cold quickly. We never felt rushed while in the water. In fact, most swimmers had naturally made their way out of the water by the time folks were called in. read more

Omg!!!! We had an epic day on The Maui Magic. Captain Charlene doubled our snorkeling trip into an amazing Whale watching adventure! She got us to the Snorkel spots with plenty of time to snorkel until everyone was dead tired, but also had some really good long whale watching stops. We had the chance to Snuba while we were on board. Reed was in charge of this. There was a small reasonable fee that went with it, but it was well worth it. I think it was worth more than we paid. Reed was really patient and helpful! The whole crew on The Magic were amazing! I feel like a jerk for forgetting everyone's names. Especially when they took the time to know us by name and treat us like family. We have done so many snorkel tours and have never run into such god crew! We went to Maui and on Father's Day we took the Magic to the Molokini Crater and snorkeled. The crew and skipper were nice, educated, helpful and friendly.
