Their location at Kihei Boat Ramp in South Maui means that you have an extra hour in the water so you can make one more stop compared to the other snorkeling charters who leave from further away and you spend most of the time going and coming vs in the water. 2. Their guides are so good, respectful, fun and full of knowledge about the underwater things you'll be seeing. 3. Their raft holds 12 people (I think) so it's much more intimate. This was worth every penny. You'll never forget when you first drop into the warm Maui waters and the incredible underwater sights you'll see. Make sure to book well in advance.

Captain Michael and crew who led our "Discover Lanai" day were awesome! Super attentive, the food…read morewas abundant, the boat was very clean, and I felt safe out snorkeling even with a pretty big swell shift from the Hurricane. The details: Our tour started by meeting at tree at the Sheraton, which sounds awkward but for us was super convenient and it was fun boarding the sailboat from the beach but you will get a little wet! Captain Michael walks you though the day and then you are off for about ~90 minutes to Lanai. During that time you are served (not a buffet) two meals. The cinnamon rolls were great and the breakfast croissants are now something I make at home. There was also a photographer on board so we took advantage and took some family photos (you buy at the end and I found them a whole lot cheaper and less stress than an actual family shoot). Once you get to the Island you can take a golf cart or take a short walk to the beach where they have all the gear you need. After the safety briefing you have about 2 hours to snorkel with the crew serving as lifeguards in the water. It is VERY easy to lose where you are when you've got your head underwater. I appreciated how attentive the crew was to where the four of us were at since there were a few times we needed some gentle guidance out of a harms way (shoreline rocks). The photographer also captures your snorkel sesh. After snorkeling, you're treated to another full meal of noodles and chicken. Followed by anything you might need for a little seasickness to prep for the journey back . My 12 yo son was pretty full at this point and had befriended the captain who let him help get the boat ready for the return trip. That was very cool! The ride home was a bit bumpy (Hurricane Lowell was coming) but Captain Michael did a great job avoiding anything major and even found a pod of dolphins. We also enjoyed the mai tais! Great experience! We will book more tours in the future. I would have booked another snorkeling or sunset tour during this trip but the water quality really deteriorated with the upcoming storm.

The first thing the captain when he saw them was called all the kids up to the (trampoline) on the front so that they could see the dolphins underneath. The kids were so excited. It was amazing. The boat was spacious for the number of people we had on the tour. Maybe 30? Just a guess. There were lots of seats indoors and outdoors, and people tended to move around quite a bit. The staff were wonderful. They told us about the animals that we saw: spinner, dolphins, green sea turtles, and monk seals. There was also a photographer who took pictures of family groupings. They weren't cheap, $90, but she took so many of our family. It was totally worth it. They served lunch, snacks, and drinks. My only suggestion is that it might be worth a thought for them to eliminate the lunch entirely. There was nothing wrong with it. Pork sandwiches and salad were great, but I just don't see how it's necessary given that the tour left at 1:30. That seemed to keep the staff pretty busy and maybe needlessly? I don't know if it would be worth reducing the price by just a small amount and eliminating that because I'm not sure if it's that much of a draw. It was absolutely perfect. We all loved it! We had reservations for one day but the swells were a little "extra" so they called us to reschedule for another day. We had a little wiggle room and I appreciate that they cared about safety and even visibility in the water. Communication was super easy either via call or text and I was always updated on location of meet up. We were super lucky to have Heather as our guide. She was super nice and had great vibes and was super knowledgeable about the ocean life and geography around us. She took us to great spots and we saw tons of turtles amongst all of the other tropical fishes both shy and "brave" She even took amazing pictures for us of creatures up close by free diving and we got to download them later. Multiple people puked. We wanted to switch days to Saturday, but were told we couldn't because it was within the 24 hour cancelation window, but we were given the assurance the captain wouldn't take us out if it was poor conditions. He did. He did!! We all knew it was too rough. We have eyes and read the report. We sailed to Molikini and we could not go in. As we knew!! Then he took us to turtle town. I feel like it was a money grab when the seas are rough and there are hurricane warnings...it should be an allowable reason to postpone to an alternate date. You could keep our money and let us go Saturday. Geez..What an utter shame. Murkey waters. No visibility. I'll book with another boat if we ever do it again. One that values the experience and safety. Pray my husband's sea sickness goes away soon. EDIT: Here's something important to note. If the water conditions aren't safe or if the weather makes the water murkey the experienced captain will cancel. I know that is stressful, but he wants us safe and to have the experience of a lifetime. THAT IS WHAT WE WERE TOLD, BUT IS NOT THE CASE.

If you are looking for an intimate, high-quality whale watching experience, look no further. The Boat The vessel is fantastic. It's an inflatable-style boat, but don't let that fool you--it was incredibly stable on the water. It seats about 20 people, so it feels personalized rather than crowded. Most of the seats are shaded, which was a huge plus for staying comfortable in the sun while we scanned the horizon. The Crew A massive shout-out to our captain and naturalist Levi & Travis! They were the perfect duo: Safety-First: We felt totally secure and well-cared for the entire time. Informative & Funny: We learned so much about whale behavior, and their humor kept the energy high and the vibes great. Genuine Kindness: You can tell they truly love what they do. The Whales The wildlife did not disappoint! Since we went out in the morning, the water was beautiful, and we saw so many whales. We spent the entire trip watching them breach and splash around. We spent about 5 1/2 hours out on the water heading to Molokini, turtle town, and the lava caves. The entire experience was absolutely incredible. The snorkeling spots were **sublime**, the scenery was unreal, and the crew was amazing. They were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole trip so much fun. But honestly... Captain Kanoe deserves his own five stars. His jokes were unparalleled, and he had us laughing the entire time. Even when I got a little too personally acquainted with the backside of Molokini , Captain Kanoe was ready with ginger chews, jokes, and enough encouragement to make everything okay again. And then there were the cookies. Thankfully, those were handed out AFTER I finished getting sick. All jokes aside, this was an absolutely beautiful, fun, informative, and unforgettable experience. The crew was fantastic, the snorkeling was incredible, and the whole trip had such a great energy. Would 100% recommend Blue Water Rafting to anyone visiting Maui. We recently went on a snorkel tour through BWR and the experience was o.k. A couple of things they…read moreneed to improve. First, they need a simple sign with company name/logo for when people arrive in the parking lot. Many other snorkel firms are there and it would be helpful for the tour operator to hold a sign to direct people arriving. Also, some reason the company website defaults to Turkish language. We had to go through Viator to book the tour because the website is in Turkish and we couldn't book direct. Lastly, what is up with the turkey sandwich in the morning ? The tour meets at 6:30 am and this not lunch time. Nobody ate the turkey sandwich so we all felt ripped off. Simple to have breakfast food and snacks. Please drop the morning turkey sandwich and get breakfast food.
