These guys are the best other charters I've been on have chased whales. The capitan kept us right on them and they came close enough to be sprayed, we even had a calf that breached close to the boat. The naturalist knows his stuff and was so informative next time we're there we are definitely going with Gemini! !!! read more

I have been to Maui A LOT, and been on different types of snorkeling/sailing cruises - small sailboats, private charters, catamarans, and big ferry boats. Gemini Charters is one of two snorkel/sail charters I have booked multiple times. Most recently, I booked a snorkel/sail cruise for myself and 2 friends as part of a "Girls Day" (day off from the kiddos). And I will book AGAIN the next time i visit Maui. I feel it is worth every penny!!! The crew - hands down the best! They are accommodating to all guests, and especially aware of guests with special needs. The tour group is small enough so the crew can interact with each guest - you don't feel like you are part of a cattle call! The crew also had extensive knowledge about the island's history, animal/eco-preservation initiatives, other island activities, sea life, etc. When I have sailed with Gemini, it has always been in the summer months. They motor to Honolua Bay to snorkel. The snorkeling equipment is some of the best I've used on 'tours', including equipment for guests with corrective lenses. Specific sea life sightings can't be guaranteed, but I have always been fortunate to see my favorite, Honu (green sea turtles). After snorkeling, the fresh water shower is great. Lunch is a buffet, good, and plentiful! After ample time in the bay the crew hoists the sails, kills the motor, and you sail back to the beach. A perfect ending to a great day! If this and other positive reviews still don't have you convinced Gemini is the way to go, do your research. SOME tour companies definition of SAILING is pretty "loose". read more

A great time. the crew were professional, friendly and incredibly helpful. They catered to all levels, made sure all were comfortable and had a good time. Food was surprisingly good. We signed up for just the snokeling but squeezed in some bonus whale watching. One crew member was great with children. It was blowing pretty good that day and it was rough but the size of the catamaran made it feel pretty smooth. read more

It was a really great time. The view and atmosphere were unbeatable. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. They made some great suggestions on where to sit as well as recommending drinks (which weren't watered down), one nice thing they did was served us on deck, not making us go down to the bar every time we wanted one. It was very kind of them. I did have 2 very minor issues that didn't really affect my time on the boat but others might feel differently 1) they do not validate parking nor did anyone mention that we could get it validated. We ended up paying $20 to park for just over 2 hours at Whalers Village. Had we known that you could go to the village and just spend $10 at any merchant to get it validated, we certainly would have. 2) the food was ok but it was chicken sliders and veggie wraps. Besides those two things it was mostly finger foods like cheese and crackers, chips and salsa, veggies and ranch. This was stated on their ad for the trip. Something a little more substantial for dinner would have been nice but not mandatory. Overall it we had an excellent time and I would highly recommend them. They made our second night in Maui memorable. read more

Great whale watching tour and the snorkeling tour. Crew very safety conscious, customer service oriented, and environmental conscious.

The four stars are for the staff who took such amazing care of an older guest we had with us. It was very tricky getting on and off the boat with the surge, something that probably should have been discussed beforehand as I would never attempt it again. We had already committed at that point so it is good to know they are confident in what they do and trustworthy. The food was tasty and I was full when I left. The drinks were pretty watery. Compared to other sunset tours I've been on it could have been better as far as fun and entertaining so there is room for improvement in that sense. read more

Took the kids on Gemini for their first snorkeling adventure and it did not disappoint. Crew was super helpful and friendly, good food and music while sailing too. We were lucky enough to see a couple sea turtles and many beautiful fish. We even saw many flying fish on our sail back. It was definitely an amazing time and a memory our kids won't soon forget. read more

Really great experience! The crew was very personable and professional. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Despite wind and somewhat rough seas, we had a blast! Definitely will go again the next time we come.

Highly recommend this as an activity. We took all 6 of our kids ages 9-22 and everyone loved it. Beyond the fun of the adventure the crew was stellar. Friendly, knowledgeable and all about our personal safety and making sure we had a great experience. Cody, Brad, Rianna and Captain Andrew we're all extraordinarily fun, professional and wonderful hosts. read more

Great snorkeling tour!! Amazing food on the ship and with an open bar. Definitely worth it for the price, 100% recommend

Excellent staff and captain. Motored out and then sailed back with great music as background. The staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Took us where everybody else does - but the staff is the difference.... read more

Perfect day snorkeling! Our captain found a pod of dolphins and they swam with our boat almost the entire trip out. Had over an hour snorkeling and then a yummy hot lunch and cocktails. Would highly recommend! read more

Would highly recommend Gemini, boat and crew were amazing and the snorkeling awesome!!

Best boat on the Island, handsdown. Great crew, great experience every time. We've done the sunset cruise each year since coming to Maui and it is a staple of our trips. read more

We did the snorkeling tour. Amazing! The staff were experienced, friendly and provided great instruction. The food and music were awesome. Perfect for all ages, singles, couples, and families. Unfortunately, we did it on the last day of our stay on the island, otherwise, would have definitely chosen to do it a second time! Worth.Every.Penny. read more

We've sailed three times with the Gemini. The first time was great, and it's only gotten better each additional time. The last time, two whales nearly climbed in the boat with us. I can't imagine how good it'll be the next time :) read more

Favorite activity we did in Maui! The crew was great, awesome drinks and food. We actually sailed along the coast, perfect way to end our stay in Maui. Highly recommend! read more

We did the sunset sail. The crew, the boat, the food, and drinks were all amazing! Highly recommend this!!

First class ride to Honolua Bay. Roomy boat; attentive crew; delicious lunch. Easy access in and out of the water and fantastic snorkeling!! We would highly recommend Gemini Charters. read more

Best crew and Service! They all truly care. Last time we were on it was 18 years ago for snorkeling. So glad we were able to return and have a wonderful sunset cruise last night. I was impressed that they even called a few people who were running late and waited for them, most cruises would not do that. It was a fantastic evening and sunset. read more

This was a disappointing charter. The food and drinks were good, but we were very disappointed with the Naturalist. Instead of focusing on the whales, he spent most of his time engaging one family, as though the rest of us were visitors on their charter. read more

We had a great evening celebrating 10 years. The boat had cool music and a smooth romantic ride with open bar and appetizers we celebrated and had a fantastic time. The staff was great and the views were wonderful and the sunset amazing. read more

We did the sunset sail. We were lucky on our day because we had a fair amount of wind for sailing (verses several really calm days prior to our date). The cruise met all the expectations they advertised - good food, good drinks, and a very friendly crew. read more

Took a sunset cruise and loved the crew and the boat. Would explore all of their other charters in a heartbeat next time we return to the island. Perfect trip from beginning to end. read more

Went on the sunset sail last night and had a great time. I picked this boat over others because the food and drinks were included. The crew was great and made any simple drink with vodka or rum and also had beer and wine but unfortunately they only had yellowtail Chardonnay which I find undrinkable. Good snacks of cheese, crackers, chips, salsa, veggies, and a little way into the trip they brought out grilled chicken and buns to make chicken sandwiches. The cruise was beautiful and relaxing and were lucky enough to see three small whales which we followed for the second part of the trip. We even got to see a whale breech which was a highlight. The woman on the crew was very knowledgable about the whales and gave us some interesting commentary. All and all totally worth every penny. read more

Genini is a one of the best options for Snorkel/Sail. The boat, the crew, captain, and food/drink were all outstanding. We had a big group and everyone had a wonderful time from grandparents to children. The easy boarding from the beach was extremely nice and easy access. We will sail with Gemini next time we are in Maui for sure. read more

Love this company. Great crew, and great sail and snorkeling. My only complaint would be that the actual snorkeling time is very rushed. I wanted to snorkel, not drink and eat on a boat! We were told the snorkeling time would be 1 1/2 hours when we got there, but I don't think it was that long. When I returned to the boat because I was told to, I had a very rushed lunch with little time to eat. I can eat or drink anywhere, I can only see turtles this way!!! read more

We had a great experience! Very friendly staff! I'm happy we chose to go with this charter company. The boat wasn't too crowded and the staff was very good at keeping the drinks flowing! read more

Did snorkel excursion on three islands and Gemini on Maui was the best by a mile. The crew, food, equipment & beverages were all top-notch. Everyone had a blast on this trip. read more

Been on the Gemini many times. The crew is outstanding and they make the experience a ton of fun!

This Boat is AMAZING... One of the best parts of Maui. I went on this boat with my family a couple of weeks ago and had the best time. I have been going on this boat since I was a little kid and can only saw that every trip gets better. The day is amazing. You start off by boarding the boat around 10am and then get to a place to snorkel by noon. The snorkeling they do on the BOAT is world class.. You then come back from snorkeling and are hungry to which you get a great lunch of chicken and fish (there is vegge stuff too) you then sail back to the beach. A great way to have a wonderful day on MAUI. ON A SIDE NOTE THE CREW IS SOME OF THE BEST AND MOST FRIENDLY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. A great trip! A must do when in MAUI! read more

Had the best time on the Gemini. Great for the entire family. My girls are age 6 and 15. We all snorkeled in Honolua Bay. On our way out the staff would point out the sea turtles to ensure we wouldn't miss out! read more

The sunset sailing cruise is a MUST when you come to Maui! My partner and I agreed that this was our favorite activity of our time on the island. Fantastic service, beautiful views and ship, and delicious food and drinks. My only regret is that the 2 hours went by too fast! read more

Good fun! They took us for a really pleasance sea cruise to an excellent snorkeling spot. They provided all the gear and plenty of (no extra charge) food and drink. The food was not fantastic, but totally fine for a day focused on boating and snorkeling. Crew was super mellow and very helpful. I'd recommend this to anyone. read more

We took the Gemini Charters snorkel trip to Honolua Bay yesterday. This was our very first boat trip with Gemini. We have previously toured with other charter boats on Maui, but Gemini is hands down the best. The boat is in immaculate condition, clean and very well maintained. Captain Mike and his crew are very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and really make the trip first class. Boarding was from the beach in front of the Maui Westin resort. You wade out into knee deep water and then climb up the stairs. This is a "barefoot only" boat which helps keep the interior clean and free of sand and debris. Safety briefing and orientation are complete with a little "head" humor. Once underway we were treated to a pod of dolphins that stayed with the boat for a little over 30 minutes. We also saw sea turtles while enroute up the coast. There were three other boats in the bay when we arrived, one was preparing to leave. Never did the area appear to be overly crowded (unlike the snorkel trips to Molokini where there are more people in the water than fish). Jennifer, the videographer, had spent the trip up the coast capturing scenery shots as well as shooting the various groups and families on the boat that wanted to purchase a DVD of the trip. Once in the water, she continued to shoot scenes with her underwater camera of the snorkelers with the fish and turtles. Once everyone was thoroughly tired of swimming, lunch is served. The Westin furnished a delicious lunch with fried rice, fresh fish, barbequed chicken, chips and veggies to dip and cookies. The open bar included two beers, wine and a host of mixed drinks including Mai Tais, mixers, iced tea and sodas. The return trip was under sail which is very relaxing. All in all, I rate Gemini as the best value and most fun boat and crew for a water adventure, out of West Maui, period. We will certainly book all future boat excursions with Gemini! read more

Took the sunset cocktail cruise. Turned out to be a lot of whale watching and it didn't disappoint. Staff was excellent. Very knowledgable about the whales. Hors d'oeuvres from the Westin were excellent. Cocktails were good. Staff spent an additional 25 minutes on the cruise just to look at whales. read more

We took the sunset cruise for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We were so impressed with the service (friendly, helpful, fun) on the sunset cruise that we booked the snorkel cruise to Honolua Bay. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to have a good time on the water. read more

Absolutely outstanding! What an amazing value. For $100 you get a gorgeous 4 hours boat cruise where we saw dozens of dolphins, a whale, and flying fish, a wonderful 45 minute snorkel session with nice gear and good support from the crew -- we saw many fish and a couple sea turtles -- then a delicious, plentiful lunch and cocktails. The crew was very professional, friendly and helpful. The cruise was NOT packed which was nice. Just a wonderful day all around. Highly, highly recommend Gemini and will definitely do again. read more

Best whale watching trip ever ! Boat was awesome, food was great, drinks flowed freely and the Whales! Wow we were so lucky saw such active whales , breaching , slapping and tail fins. Only thing that would make it better is a PA system . I will definitely go back to this company . Especially if you are staying in the Kaanapali area ! read more
