I hate to say it, but this place is so average. Maybe it's because I have higher expectations, but this place did not meet those expectations at all. I often see people raving about the sandwiches, but they're nothing special imo. I got the mortadella and pistachio cream sandwich, as well as a cardamom bun. The sandwich barely had any pistachio cream at all, it was more like a couple whole pistachios just placed within the bread. And the bread was okay, it didn't have a particularly great texture or anything. It just tasted like a regular old baloney sandwich for $16, which feels like absolute robbery. Such a cute cozy cafe! Came here with a girlfriend at 9am on a Saturday morning and it was pretty peaceful and quiet until it got closer to lunch (~11am). We got the bread plate and a cardamom bun to share. Both were amazing. The bread plate seems like such simple ingredients, but somehow they make it taste really elevated with the quality of the ingredients. The bread is phenomenal, so fluffy and soft yet keeps its hold on the outside. Loved the cheese and jam it came with as well, and the perfectly soft boiled egg was the cherry on top. The cardamom bun was great too, loved the semi sweet glaze on top. Not too sweet and super fluffy on the inside too. Cute place for a catch up! read more

Cute space. Food and drinks take a while to be served. Not that many wait staff in the back room. If you are seated by the window, prepared to have very slow service as they aren't as attentive. Menu is simple items, either salads and sandwiches or pastries from the front of the store. There are wines you can opt in for too. Kumquat olive oil cake is very sweet. The yuzu chamomile tea is nice and refreshing (more tart like a lemonade which I enjoyed) the mortadella pistachio butter sandwich is decent. read more

Gem Home is a home store that also has a cafe within - they currently offer a breakfast and a lunch menu, including pastries. We made a pit stop to get a quick lunch, and tried their grilled cheese special, that was served with pickles and tomato sauce for dipping the sammie. Not sure if I'd return for their food, but the place itself was fun to peruse before or after your meal. I would give this place an A for aesthetics but that's about it. I got the breakfast plate and a coffee. I decided to add the egg to the breakfast plate. My jammy egg came out freezing cold and I'm pretty sure there was a hair on it. My coffee was also lukewarm and didn't taste great. For $24 to have some bread butter and Jam, I would think it would be better. Glad I can check this off the list but not saying I'll come back. Wow! What a hidden gem! The food is phenomenal, the service is kind and welcoming, and the ambiance is cozy and comfortable. We ordered the smoked trout tartine, the cucumber salad, the watercress salad, the warm vegetable plate, the Parisian gnocchi, and a breakfast sandwich. Everything was simply exceptional!
