Had a wonderful time this morning! Katelyn fit me in as a walk in, to take off my Bio Gel nails & get a manicure! And it was awesome. She was a total sweetheart, engaging in genuine conversation the whole time she did my nails. She took her time and was very detail oriented. She was very gentle and sweet, and did a wonderful job removing my nails and restoring them back to natural. I have tried a few other nail salons in Brampton one was always rushing and doing a poor job. The others had attitude and did well on my nails, but I didn't feel comfortable. What a fabulous place! My sister and I randomly dropped by this salon to get a pedi and we both walked out with pedis, full gel nails on our hands and a ear-to-ear smile on our faces! The owner - Lynn - was extremely accommodating especially because we did not have an appointment. The ladies were friendly but also listened to what I wanted done on my toes and my hands. They only did what I asked, which was definitely a first for me! I liked how Lynn explained the difference between gel and acrylic nails and really took her time working on both my sister and my nails. All the ladies are talented not just friendly. read more

Hands down the best nail salon I've been to! I usually shuffle between shellac or dip powder nails, and decided to give this salon a try. I appreciated that upon booking an appointment, I was received by the technician right on time, and felt very comfortable. The salon is small but cozy (definitely recommend booking in advance!). Usually when I get shellac, it starts to chip after 2 weeks or so, but for the first time ever, I'm on my 5th week, and there are NO CHIPS at all! I'm shocked. I will be trying the dip powder next time (as it is no UV), and they have an extensive range of shades to choose from. The prices are comparable to current market trends, so no complaints there either. If you're looking for a new salon in Brampton, I highly recommend this one! read more

Physical Fight With Client When we got there a lady was complaining her manicure wasn't done right and they hurried too much but the staff there were completely ignoring her so she got upset and demanded them to answer her concerns but they continued ignoring her. She told them they were very rude and she was only going to pay for the pedicure but the owner/manager started to angrily demand her to pay the full amount. This person didn't care the boutique was full of clients. The lady got even more upset for getting yelled at and she said now I am not paying anything. At this point the lady walked to the door and two staff members ran to the door and physically blocked her from leaving pushing her and yelling at her. The lady pushed her way out and the staff kept on yelling at her. It was so terrible to be there and watch this SHAME ON THE STAFF !!!!!! On top of this, this is a terrible nail boutique all they care is to get as many clients as possible. Their manicure and pedicures are poorly made you feel your skin still hard and with bites like on your skin. My mom complaint they didn't cut her cuticles and painted on top of it, they didn't cut her nails. My daughter complained they cut her skin very harshly and it was bleeding no apology they didn't show any care at all. I made and appointment and when we got there they were full so we had to wait. When I told them I would rather leave and comeback another day the manager got very angry and told me that I had already booked and appointment, I answered back saying: why did you give me an appointment if you are already fully booked? She very angry said: it won't take long. The owner or manager is very rude and the staff don't listen, they don't answer if you ask a question, they just ignore you. We stayed there just to avoid a confrontation but this place is just appalling. read more

Went here about two weeks ago for a pedicure. I went on a Tuesday evening after work, so the salon was empty. The ladies were friendly, spoke English well, and engaged in conversation. The lady that was working on my feet also did not know how to use the massage chair remote; as I didn't want any back pains, I didn't use the chair (ironic isn't it?). She also didn't know how to do nail art (she called her colleague for that). I thought I was in a nail salon...how come all the staff can't do nail art?! The problem was that when I came home, I noticed scratches on my right foot and both ankles. My feet were scrubbed so hard that there was a small cut under the skin near my big toe. It was hard to walk for a few days, and I was worried about getting an infection! No infection, but I won't be coming back. read more

I went to this nail salon based off of yelp reviews and boy were they misleading. This salon is not worth it. It's way too cold in there, it's unbearable, I was literally frozen. The woman who did my nails kept messing up. It took 2 hours for a pedicure, and shellac polish change. My nails look poorly done and I wouldn't recommend anyone going there. I paid $60 for something I could've done myself for a lot cheaper. Because of their lack of attention to detail, I now have to get my nails re-done at another salon. Super inconvenient. Never again! I've recently moved to the area and I have been to this particular nail salon twice till now. They do a good job with nails but the staff is rude and very unprofessional. I made an appointment to get my new set yesterday for 6:45pm and the lady called me to tell me she can start not before 7:00-7:15pm. I said I would come and wait there as I couldn't go home now and i Planned my evening accordingly. Anyhow I got to the nail salon at 6:55pm and thought I would wait around. When I went there no one said 'Hello' or even acknowledged me. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Then asked the lady how long the wait is as I assumed she would be done sooner. And she kept ignoring me for a while and wasn't willing to answer. Then she's like I called you to come later than 7:15 which was a lie she told me she could take me between 7-7:15. I waited for 10 more minutes and no one again even looked at me. So, I asked again for her to tell me when she can start and she's' like if you can't wait then you can go back. Which is ridiculous behavior!!! I have a life I had come from work and drove all the way to just reach them if they didn't want to do the job I could've gone anywhere else or not gone at all. After 10 minutes she tells me she can't take me before 7:45. By this time I was pissed off and I asked her why she booked me in if she couldn't do the job. And she's like you can go if you want. I would like to mention she ruined my mood and my evening with her bad attitude. I don't know who manages this place but I want to get this message out to the owner and the manager that they have bad staff. And they definitely lost me as a customer! read more

Great spa...the staff are soo friendly! They actually talk to you....and take their time to do a really good job. If you go here, definitely set up an appointment and be prepared to spend at least 2-3 hours here (they are perfectionists here). Also, the massage chairs are great. read more

I was here today to get shellac removal and a new shellac manicure on my natural nails and I've never had such a great experience at a salon! The tech (I didn't catch her name) was extremely attentive, chatty and had amazing attention to detail. UPDATE: After posting my first review the company called me to say sorry and offered me 50% off my next service. I typically do my nails on occasions so I decided to give them another try today. I spoke to a manager and stated I was offered 50% off, she made me explained why I had to get 50% off which I found to be so tedious. Most places have your name written down for when you call but clearly there is no organization with this company. I told her I am getting shellac (previously I got a mani pedi), she stated that in order to get 50% off I have to do whatever service I had originally done. So I made the decision to stay at home and do my nails instead of giving away my money for no reason. Again, absolutely would not recommend this place. Original post (August): Absolute worse place I've gotten my nails done. I did a mani pedi. My friend did shellac and got good service however I refused to do shellac and the woman doing my mani pedi was very rude, unaccommodating, and did a half way job. When I told her what I wanted to do with my nails she kept saying "oh no this is better", "I don't want to". She rushed my service because there was someone else waiting to do their nails. Absolute trash. Where do I begin????? First of all, they cut my finger with a nail file. And if that's not bad, the lady tried to wipe the blood with some alcohol solution they use for acrylic nails. Then she completely screwed up the shape of most of my nails (I got coffin). And lastly after getting black nail polish, I walk out of the store and notice the damn nail polish was peeling off so I went back and showed them. They tried to blame it on me and finally agreed to redo the colour while talking shit about me to their customers blaming me. Absolute trash. Don't recommend it. Don't know where they got their license or certification from. Probably made it on paint and printed it out. And if it's not obvious enough the customer service is disgusting. I have been out of the country and was very excited to return to Gel Essence (the little "gem" salon in Brampton). I was surprised when I called to not hear the cheerful voice of Kate or her sister. However, hoping that perhaps the sisters were busy with customers, I booked an appointment. As soon as I walked into the salon I could see the little "gem" had changed. The sisters were no longer working at the salon If anyone knows where the sisters are now working, PLEASE POST THEIR WHEREABOUTS. The staff (of 2 only) is really nice & polite! & like everyone mentioned they do speak english & will speak with you! but the lack of staff makes the wait a little long (I was there in total 3 hours)...plus they did not have any price listings, which tells you they can charge you whatever they feel like. I did a very simple mani-pedi that came up to 40$ plus taxes & tip. They did mentioned that they were short on customers which is why I suspect they don't want any fixed prices. Have been 3 times staff is great. Disappointed with my last fill, took over 3 hours, too long for me. I do find they do a good job but again takes way too long, previous appointment was a mani & pedi took almost 5 hours. Price wise very expensive. The cost I paid for 2 refills now was higher then getting a full set. I thought I had found a great salon, but think with only one person doing bio nails, the time it takes to do my nails, doesn't fit into my busy schedule.
