A friend and I decided to get pedicures and to try gel nails out this time since it was conveniently close. Boy, was that a terrible decision. It started when we walked in and there was a pungent smell of sulfur, then when using their restroom there was dried urine all over the seat. Upon sitting in the pedicure chair we noticed the room was very unorganized. Not only that but the water was cold. There was one person working on the both of us as it is just the two that run the show there. My friend got a gel pedicure and had gel from a previous visit at a different salon. Tell me why the worker decided to take the electric e-file with a bit that was only to be used on acrylic and anc, then followed up with a 180 grit sand on her bare nail. It is very clear that the person working on us did not attend any type of schooling and was taught within the salon privately. He admitted to illegal services such as the removal of ingrown toe nails and how often they perform that (per request as I was told) It took me to educate him as I am a NYS LICENSED nail technician about how that "service" is illegal and I also had to inform him about sanding bits, when they should be used, and how to remove gel. During the pedicure he was consistently switching between the two of us, without gloves or proper hand washing. The tools were kept on a microfiber towel that had dried polish on them and appeared dirty. He sprayed the nail clippers with alcohol and dried them with the microfiber cloth. He used his bare nails to clean up the nail of flooded polish instead of a wooden pick or gauze. The brushes for the feet were soiled and the bristles made it clear that they had been used multiple times on other clients. Entering the foot mask tub with bare hands (switching between us) instead of using a popsicle stick for sanitary purposes. There were no fans to dry regular polish so he dried my toes with a corded HAIR DRYER. When my toes were drying he used a cuticle pusher dipped in acetone to "clean up" the flooded polish which did nothing. He did not know how to apply gel polish properly, leaving my friend at risk for contact dermatitis as there was gel polish on her SKIN. He also left his fingerprint smudges in between curing sessions because he was visibly distracted. After the comedy show of watching this get done between the two of us, we went to pay. They tried to charge $65 for my friends gel pedicure and $45 for my regular pedicure. This was with no special add ons or treatments. We tried to talk to the owner who was incredibly childish about handling confrontation, criticism, and poor service. Degrading us in front of clients saying we were looking for free service. We tried to have a conversation about how poorly they came out and how unclean it was to which of course he responded negatively and demanded we pay with him taking only $5 off and refusing to see the work that was done after we had taken our shoes and socks off to show him. As a salon owner, he should be incredibly embarrassed and disappointed with how he acted and should have tried to make things right. We of course paid with the $5 off and left very unhappy. Needless to say, I will be reporting them to the board of cosmetology and we encourage you to steer away and if you have made it this far into reading, thank you. read more

If I could give this place a negative rating I would! I have never been treated so terrible as this place! The owner had some kind of a problem with me when I walked in the door, did a terrible job on my nails and then charged me way more than I've ever been charged for a set of nails in my entire life! I had to leave that shop and go to nail art so that they could redo my nails, and they felt so bad for the terrible job that I had that they actually only charged me half price, even though they had to file everyone of my nails down, reshape them and repaint the gel polish! If I was you, I would save my time and go to a better place. This place is awful! read more

ANC Dip nail cracked. Went to get fixed it fixed 2x the same day and the nail broke off within an hour of the 2nd fix. Refused to fix for free. Same nail cracked on the same place 3x in one day and somehow it its not that their fault. Only one nail had the same Crack. These were nails with tips and instead of fixing it right they just would try and put more coats of ANC powder over it, which obviously didn't work. Very unprofessional.​ read more

I've never been disappointed going here (when every other nail salon in Hudson has messed up at least once). They do a great job with my eyebrows, the pedicures feel great and my manicures usually stay for weeks. My mother has had manicures break within a few days (her own doing) and they have fixed them no problem. Also, more than once they've allowed us to come in during "appointment only" times. The location is a little run down from when they first opened and could use some paint, but it's clean and sanitary. Be warned sometimes it is a bit hectic: the owners sometimes bring their daughter or their two dogs. But after a bit of curiosity, you're left alone to get the work done. Also, like any place the pedicures are done by people who are newer to the nail business and often speak nearly no English. If you have a special request, ask the owners (who are usually doing nails) and they'll happily communicate for you. read more

Overall I would give Gel Nails in Hudson 3.5 or 4 stars (not sure which). Expensive, so I would do it as a treat, but the pedicure was worth it. It was uncomfortable at times (mostly during the nail shaping and the paraffin treatment thing), but my feet haven't been this smooth in AGES. The manicure looks VERY nice, but the 2nd woman who did them DID cut me and I had to ask her to make my nails round after she made them square (because she didn't ask). Also, as a heads up to anyone who is particular about it, they didn't ask about cutting my cuticles, they just cut them. Also, if you are easily talked in to things, this may not be the best for you! read more

Best nail place in Hudson!!!! Each customer gets their own storage box with a file and buffer, etc. They are only ever used on you. Everything is sterilized and in fresh packets. The place is large and very clean. Dean put pink and white acrylics on me and they look AMAZING!!! I will be going back here again. Best nail salon, hands down!!! read more

I just had my nails done and a pedicure and OMG I couldn't be more impressed. I have never had such a good experience at a nail Salon. My nails have never looked so amazing! The new technology they use has no nasty oder like the acrylic normally does amd it so much more natural and thinner and stronger on the nail! I'm impressed! read more

I went twice before, the first time was fine, the second time was pretty terrible. But I figured I would give it another try. I went for the third time and got a gel manicure for $30. It came out absolutely horribly, check out the pictures. I went back and asked them to take it off and for a refund, I did not have time to get it redone. The woman who did my nails got very upset and started yelling, Dean (i'm assuming he is the manager) told her repeatedly to calm down, that's how upset she was. Instead of soaking my nails to take it off, they ground it off and ruined my nails. They only gave me $16 back, they said they couldn't refund me for the actual manicure but only for the color because the work was already done. At that point I was done arguing. I have been going to gel nails for about 2.5 yrs now and they are the best I will never go elsewhere great workers love it

I'm giving them 2 stars because most of the employees are nice. However, the past couple of times I've been there I've been heavily disappointed. I got ANC a week before my birthday and my results were 1. They filed down the nail to make the ANC so thin, multiple tips cracked off a couple days later (this has happened with my other ANC manicures from Gel Nail as well) 2. the woman I had, I think she's new, was filing down my SKIN and my obvious "cries of pain" and me asking her to stop were ignored - 3 fingers heavily bled and scarred after it. I should of spoken up more about it during that time but I thought that it's common sense when you make a client bleed, it's best to KEEP AVOIDING hurting that area. 3 days ago I got a French pedicure done. The boy who helped prepped my feet was extremely lovely and nice, and the woman who painted my nails, Dean's wife I think it was, was extremely rude to the kid when I kept telling her he was great. She seemed to rushed the painting job, and 2 days after getting them painted, they came right off after the shower. Never had an experience like this ANYWHERE else. I heavily recommend Exquisite Nails in East Greenbush. Gel Nails use to be my favorite place to go to, but my past couple recent experience has been horrific and I don't think I will ever go here again. read more

HORRIBLE! This place was absolutely aweful. They have a little dog running around that barks and growls at everyone. I got my nails filled there ONLY because Nail Art was too busy. In less than a week my nails are all chipped and look horrible. I dont work with my hands. I'm a receptionist. My most hands on activity is texting. Im so upset that I paid for such crap. Not to mention the guy burned my hands. They have some sort of steam machine they keep hand towels in and he put it over my hands. It hurt so bad I almost cried. My hands were so red, I wanted to make a scene right then and there. I will never go there again. read more

If you are looking for a quick manicure, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. It took them TWO HOURS to do a full set of acrylic nails. I didn't get any design or anything special, and it took SO long. The employees are nice & pleasant but it just took forever. Wasn't even the best set of acrylics I've gotten. If it was possible to give this salon 0 stars I would. I was told a five minute wait to get a fill, it took them an hour and a half to get me into someone. One of the technicians took two women before me- they both walked in after me and did not have appointments. I was told two times that I would be the next in line and they kept putting people in front of me that did not have appointments, and these people all admitted to not having appointments. This is an atrocious way to run a "business" The quality of their work also leaves much to be desired... What a joke. Do not give these people your business. read more
