I called 5 times and was told on all separate accounts that a manager would call me back because they changed accounting systems and only a manager access the old system. I never once received a call back. After calling again three years later, I finally got an email saying too much time has passed and they will not refund me. How can they keep someone's money for a service never provided? This is illegal in many states and the business is suppose to report unearned revenue to the state or refund the customer. It's blatant robbery. Awful customer service!

While there are places on the internet one can get quality systems from, I'm a hands on person so I like to go in, check out computers and talk to people while customizing. Moreover, I like to walk around and Micro Center appeals to my inner nerd. So, what does Microcenter offer, well lots of computers, accessories and everything an aspiring nerd needs to enter the digital world in style. If you're a graphical artist, they have drawing tables and stylist, musically inclined they have adapters to cover that too along with software but I encourage research or talking to a sales rep before buying. How about that keyboard that fits those tired hands? I see a dozen options before we even get into the backlit keyboards. Mice with over 20 buttons for those hardcore gamers will also tempt you. How about a laptop for computing on the go? Well that "buying best" place can only dream of as many options. As for me, while I've built my computer before I decided to let MicroCenter take care of it. The installation cost was low and I was able to build my "super computer" for cheap, a warranty and it was done within three days. What was a lot of fun is the saleman and I talked for about 45 minutes about World of Warcraft b/c he's a player as well. Although he did try and sell me a monitor however I have that covered. I did browse the TV section out of curiosity and noticed their prices and inventory are competitive with other stores as well. I'll admit, I love this place and it's my first option when I need a computer. I like talking to people and discussing options rather than grabbing it off a website. Micro Center has an informed sales staff, a lot of inventory and competitive prices for everything you may need, including phones! My wife called this company, and the tech came over. They apparently were at the home and worked…read morefor 45 min. During this time, this "tech" said that my wife needed to get an external video card, then showed her a GT 1030 on Amazon. When I got home, I removed the graphics card in her computer, and put it in mine, it worked fine. She texted him, and told her that there was no way I was able to do this, as the video card is soldered in. I looked at the picture she sent me, and it looks like this tech was "testing" off of the onboard video card, and he pointed to the back of the computer where a graphics card would go. Somehow in the hour that the tech said he looked at her computer, he somehow didn't look at the entire glass side of the computer and didn't see there is already a GTX 4070 graphics card in there. As she was asking more questions he sent back, "I can see that your looking for a way out / to not to have to pay for my x1 hour service call x2 Comments... I don't care who you would have called / no one would cary every possible video card to be compatible with every PC. 2nd / At this point 1 am simply going to 'wave' my x1 hour minimum fee, so you can find somebody else to troubleshoot the problem... Good luck and hope you find a solution to your PC's video problems..." I've not had a service person be so rude, after not even trying to do their job. There is a difference between looking not pay for something and getting what you pay for. I ended up taking my wife's computer elsewhere. They were able to diagnose that the motherboard was bad, replaced it, and everything was working by the next day. I will not ever be bringing my computer to this company, and letting anyone I know, not to do business here.

Doing a quick search on Yelp, I filled out a service request and Jon @ KC Super Tech responded within 2 minutes. He "risked his life" ;) coming to my home the next evening and quickly diagnosed a faulty wireless network adapter card. He then installed a temporary fix (a USB adapter) to get the laptop wifi up and running while we waited for a new adapter card that had to be ordered. Jon finished the job with another "risky" ;) trip to my home to install the new card. Laptop is good as new! I'd highly recommend Jon to anyone who needs some IT help (home or at work). I'll definitely use him again if/when I get in over my head...
