Scrambled Eggs On Toast Over Smoked Salmon ... YUM!
Greg T.

While I only ate here for breakfast, the meals I had here were delicious! Part of Dukes Hotel in Mayfair, GBR also features an amazing dinner menu. Next time I stay at Dukes Hotel, I'm definitely dining here for dinner!

Lovely restaurant.

We stopped in here for dinner after exploring London all day, and had a great time and a tasty meal! First off, this restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and has excellent service to match! We were here for an early dinner, and luckily we didn't have to wait too long to get a table. On to the food! Everything looked so tasty on the menu, and it was seriously hard to decide on what to order! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they serve smaller portions of everything on the menu, so I decided to go with 2 smaller portions. After some deciding, I went with the Charleston Mussles and the lamb neck fillet. These dishes were so delicious! The mussels were so succulent, and the lamb was amazingly tender. Such a tasty meal! This was definitely one of the best meals I had during my time in London! And the 2 smaller portions were definitely filling enough. I definitely recommend stopping in for a meal if you're in this part of town!

They had me at haggis scotch egg. This is a quiet, nicely done restaurant in the ground floor of the Duke's Hotel right next to St. James Palace. I came for dinner by myself during a business trip. They have fixed price menus where you choose two or three courses and you can also add a half bottle of wine. Choices are limited with only three options per course. I went with the haggis, lamb and cheese plate for my three. Service was great. Quick with water, wine and bread. The haggis scotch egg was phenomenal. Soft boiled eggs surrounded by haggis and breaded. Served with fried apples in, I think, a slight whisky glaze. Yum. The lamb practically melts in your mouth. I actually don't think I've had lamb this good before asides from Mar-a-Lago. And GBR gives them some serious competition. Served with gravy and oats, and some delicious potatoes. And to wrap it up, the cheese plate. Three cheeses, a lovely chutney and two types of bread. And all three courses were nicely sized so you didn't get overstuffed and could just enjoy the flavors. If you were looking for a place with high quality food and attentive service in a calm and serene atmosphere for a quiet date or a good business meeting where you can hear everyone at the table, this would be a good choice.

I decided to return early the next morning, and we were seated quickly. The staff is friendly and attentive. The cafe is quirky with shelves of vintage books and customer napkin art. You read that correctly - napkin art. A craft of water with fresh mint came out quickly. We ordered Americana coffees and I had the Eggs Drury. The food came out fairly quickly. My poached eggs were served on a massive bed of bacon and fresh made English muffins. The English bacon was incredibly delicious. It is no wonder that there are lines waiting to dine here. My husband had one of their premade breakfast sandwiches, made on fresh rolls, which he loved. There was a service charge added to the bill. I would definitely recommend and return.

I ordered the chorizo sandwich; the bread had a good crunch and the sun dried tomato added a bonus pop of flavor. The real winner and bar-setter for me was their iced vanilla latte. I'm not sure if it was the espresso or the vanilla syrup they used but it was probably the best latte I had. Inside the restaurant has lots of character and you can get more info on the decorations. Employees were kind and handled the business of the day with ease. If anyone happens to see this from the cafe, I'd really love to know what vanilla syrup is used as I'm still thinking about that latte weeks later!

Let me start with the positive: it's in London, easy to find, and is centrally located. The…read moreatmosphere is really good and staff is friendly, courteous and welcoming but I felt they were somewhat stressed out. The space is small and it's really filled up with tables to a point where waiters have to navigate gingerly but it IS London and space is $$$$ but they could easily offset it with great food but alas, that wasn't the case. Perhaps, an unsuspecting non Russian tourist might enjoy the experience, but as a native, if I had to use one polite word and not a lot of Russian expletives - dreadful would be it. If you own this place or work there you will know that all pickles came from a jar. You'd know that pastries were not made by you and weren't made today but you don't charge yesterday's prices. Even the bread was ehh. Not going to list the dishes but they all were not that tasty and possibly not made by a Russian cook. Notice, I didn't even use the word "chef" which is what this type of restaurant ought to have. A MAJOR disappointment and an expensive one at that. Don't do this. If you happen to travel to LA, I will make Russian food for you or at least tell you where to go
