    Chicken and lamb paella
    Theresa H.

Paella was so good. Lamb and chicken. Sangria had a good flavor. Service was good. Great artwork. Great restaurant.

On our last night in Barcelona we went to Gaudim. It was an experience in dining. We started with drinks and then Chef Sammy came out and told us about the appetizers and main courses. We shared several appetizers, salads and specials. The main course consisted of a seafood piaya and lamb and chicken piaya, grilled fish and garlic shrimp. On to the deserts. Grilled pineapple, figs, hot molten cake with ice cream and then the warm brandy. The entire food experience was more than we could have imagined.

    Beautifully decorated restaurant.

While visiting Barcelona, we were looking for the best paella we could find. Our hotel concierge suggested Gaudim. It was a few blocks away and we heard that it is difficult to get reservations for the evening. So, we went there for lunch. We got to meet the chef who recommended the lamb chop paella. We placed our order and then picked our calamari appetizer and drinks. What a delightful experience. The drinks were the perfect complement for the tender and lightly battered calamari. The garlic sauce took the calamari to the next level. When the beautiful platter of paella arrived, we couldn't wait to dig in. OMG, the lamb chops were pure perfection! The rice was well seasoned and very tasty. Oh how I wish we lived closer to Barcelona! This was by far the best meal we had in Spain.

This place is worth the wait and lives up to the hype. We really wanted to get legit paella at least one of the days we were here and Gaudil did not disappoint. I would strongly advise to make a reservation in advance of going. The hostess greeted us and after a brief wait we were seated. I saw espresso martini on the menu and had to try it, it was decent. The patatas bravas here were fantastic, crispy and the sauce was on point. The star of the show was their lamb paella which is their house special it really was to die for between the lamb chops being cooked perfectly, the perfectly seasoned and cooked rice. The whole dish was perfection. Definitely try this place if your in the area

We went to this restaurant because our friends Sue and Alton had tasted paella never. So, this is the place: one chicken and veggies paella and the other with lamb and chicken: delicious both: i recommend you order it. Dessert was fig and mascarpone creme, oh my goodness !!! out of this world. Of course, cava, limoncello and orujo complement our dinner. We'll be back

Excellent restaurant with excellent service and ambience. Everything on the menu was delicious... and the paella was to die for! When an American says that their wagyu burger is one of the best burgers they've ever had, you believe them. Make reservations for dinner as it is a favorite to many, and not a very large space.

Was recommended this spot for the paella. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because a lot of the dishes were sold out by the time our reservation came around. Had to settle for a chicken paella which was very tasty but not the paella I imagined I would be trying. It wasn't very fancy but from what we heard the lamb and seafood paella they make are their star dishes, probably why they sold out. Would love to come back and give them a second chance. The paellas are personal size, even though it looks huge it's a thin layer of rice on a really big pan.

The environment of the restaurant is good. It seems that there is a restaurant that Messi has been to. The ingredients of the dish is fresh and the taste is good. The price is not too cheap. This restaurant has a minimum service charge of 10%.

We went to this restaurant to try rice dishes famous to Barcelona. We had the ham and cheese croquettes which were the best we had the entire trip and we shared a seafood paella. Both were delicious. The restaurant was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a higher end paella experience

This place came recommended by our hotel front desk as the best paella in Barcelona. Had to go check it out! Warning: prices here are high, but you get what you pay for. Seafood paella was easily the best I've ever had! So flavorful and the size of those prawns will haunt me forever :) The depth of flavor and freshness of the seafood was bomb diggity!! Red sangria was also really tasty and different than others I've had. Very good! Only downside was there was some miscommunication initially and I felt that the waitress was trying to push us to getting more orders of paella despite us only wanting to try it and not have a whole meal out of it.

My husband and I came here four years ago and we still remember how perfect everything tasted. Since then, we have recommended here for the best paella and grilled octopus in Barcelona to a handful of friends and family who have visited, and they have all agreed that it was the best. We visited Barcelona recently, and it was even more delicious than we remembered. The service from the staff was welcoming, attentive, and exceptional. The ambiance is beautiful and welcoming. Most importantly, the food was approved by our 15 month old toddler who even tried to grab paella from my plate after he finished his.

Do expect a wait time or enter their queue when it opens to expedite that process. We started there one night and there was a long line out the door. We decided not to wait as it was already midnight (late for us!) and come back the next night. I'm glad we did, because there was minimal line and we entered the queue before anyone else, so we were able to enter rather quickly. It was the coolest speakeasy vibe and fun ambiance. We sat at the bar and quickly observed the menu. The menu was lit up, which I thought was pretty unique. It took a little bit of time for the server to assist us, but it was evident she was super busy. My drink came in a skull with a "brain" that was actually edible sorbet. It was vodka and not too strong but also not too sweet. Honestly, I wish I had more! My husband ordered somewhat of an old fashion that he said was the best he ever had. Highly recommend if you're in Barcelona!

I did read that there would be QR code for a virtual queue, but we didn't see that option and just ended up waiting in line ourselves. I was worried Paradiso would have a snobby vibe to it, since it is ranked #4 in the world, but that wasn't the case at all! The servers were very friendly and the cocktails were genuinely delicious. There's also a sense of theatre when they present you with their specialty cocktails. For example, I ordered the Gravity cocktail (reminiscent of an espresso martini), and our server brought it in an interesting bowl meant to mimic a black hole and also gave a little background story to the cocktail. They provide menus in Spanish, Catalan, and English. Servers also speak English as well, so communication is not an issue. The interior is gorgeous and and had great moody lighting, there was also a great playlist on with classic pop songs. Their cocktail menu is unique and as previously mentioned, I especially loved their presentation. Most of their drinks are served in some funky cup or bowl, it was so fun seeing the servers bring out other cocktails to other tables. Overall, a 5/5 experience for me!

Wow did we want to give this place 5 stars…read more The bartenders were great and welcoming and the decor was very cool. It is a pleasant place to be physically. All of the cocktails we tried were excellent (we had two more not featured on photos here). We went Sunday 4/19 around open (5pm ish until 7:30 ish). However, our experience was sort of ruined when a female employee came over and chided my wife and two other American patrons we were talking to for being too loud. They weren't being particularly loud and at this point we were the only four people sitting at the bar itself. She was not a bartender (at that time at least) and she completely ruined our vibe with this complaint. She had been eyeing one of the other American patrons we had been talking to before she came over and confronted my wife after she laughed. The bar tenders didn't seem to be aware this happened and when we were closing out they remarked they didn't think we had been loud and that they like their guests to have fun. This female employee apparently didn't get the memo! We sense that perhaps she just dislikes Americans, which would be rich for working at an establishment like this! She also had no issues when a dog other guests brought in barked loudly multiple times, each time silencing the entire bar because the barks were so booming. The other American couple felt the same way -- the stern talking to just ruined the experience for all four of us. So... great spot but our experience was unnecessarily tarnished by a jerk employee!!!
