Came here to celebrate my Granddaughter's 9th birthday. The pay station only had pencils to sign the receipt. They would not get a pen for me to use. Played cash instead. To easy to alter receipt with a pencil. They had several pizzas that looked as if they had been sitting there a while. Only saw 2 fresh pizzas placed on the counter. The salad was fairly empty. There was an employee stocking it with her un-gloved hands. The plate stations (4) were not well equipped. 2 were without plates and only 1 had a handful of forks. Lots of knives and spoons. My grandchildren were disappointed with the children's room. The Television was turned off. Broadcast issues, they said. But the sports room was operating their television. The restrooms were filthy and the floors dirty. They had lots of employees standing around yet only 1 cleaning. The Gattitown pizza buffet is alright for adults and downright awesome for little kids. This is based on my experience tonight with my three and six year old children. They're notoriously fickle eaters, so it was nice to have the variety of kid friendly staples like plain pasta (sauce available separately), mac and cheese, and of course a plethora of pizza options. Speaking of the pizza, they sat out under heat lamps like other pizza buffets. So grabbing a slice from a pie with more remaining slices was my general strategy to avoid lukewarm pizza. They also had a decent salad bar with fresh ingredients and a vat full of dressing bottles that included Gattis "famous" ranch. Truth be told, I'm not sure what distinguishes their ranch from standard fare. The real highlight of the evening for the kids tonight was the arcade, no surprise there. It felt slightly smaller in size as compared to Chuck E Cheese. The games were geared more to slightly older children, a bit like Main Event in that regard. But our boys had a blast each armed with $10 on their game cards. Had a party for my daughter party room floor was so sticky. Tablecloth colors weren't even what I picked!! Restroom had paper towels and toilet paper all over floor! Had a party here for my son, decent pricing, hostess is what really sold me on it more than anything else as she was polite and went out of her way to help however we needed. I was a little worried after reading the most recent reviews of this place on our way over there, but our experience was much better. Don't get me wrong, this isn't gourmet pizza in a nice restaurant - It is what it is, you know - a family pizza buffet with video games. We were looking for some place where we could eat at our own pace, not worry about a crying baby bothering anybody, and have a little fun - and that's what we found. Many of the concerns others have raised we didn't see - there was plenty of hot pizza of different varieties with the ability to order one of your own if you didn't see anything you liked, several pasta options, a freshly stocked salad bar.. and employees were clearing tables frequently. Their video game selection was heavily focused on driving games, so if you like those, you'll love this place. We were in the mood for shooting, and the only one worth playing was Terminator Salvation, but if you're only going to have a few, that's one to get. The mini-bowling was actually pretty fun too.. Two tips: 1. it's pretty far south in Southpark Meadows - not quite to the theater, but almost. Quicker to stay on the I-35 feeder road for a while than to enter off of Slaughter like we did.. 2. Okay, I'm not exactly sure what the draw is to this place... I mean, its like paying $9 to eat in a middle school cafeteria. No option to order a pizza, only the "buffet." Nearly $40 for our family of four to eat here? REALLY? Pizza is limited to cheese, beef, pepperoni, and now and then they will throw something like jalapeños on a pizza, or pepperoni and pineapple...how did they come up with that combo? No thanks. They warm up pouches of pre-cooked spaghetti, sauce, and Mac-n-cheese and then squeeze the contents into warmers, as well as canned corn and canned green beans. Salad bar isn't terrible, but wasn't exactly amazing, either. Desserts are hard to come by, as they are gone as soon as they put them out. In fact, this place feels like it's out of everything...all the time. Clean cups, food, and I couldn't find any Parmesan cheese anywhere. At least at Chuck E Cheese, you can order what you want in an attempt to keep costs down. This place had their hand out from the minute you walk in the door. Make no mistake, you pay A LOT for the pizza, but if your kids venture into the game room, be prepared to keep on spending. Gattis, if you're going to charge these kind if prices, you need to back it up with food that looks and tastes like you really care. When I went to sign the credit card slip the employee girl handed me a pencil. Really? Had my daughters birthday here in January and had low expectations after reading the reviews but was very happy with the overall experience. They had a few options price-wise so we could choose what worked for us which I liked since we were not really sure how many would show (they didn't host the party, we just brought it there, that might be an important distinction). They had a sports room where we watched Football and had a little place for adults to relax as the place is catered to children. They had movies playing in other areas if you were not into sports. The rooms were a little cramped and tight but it didn't seem to affect our experience and you could tell the staff was constantly working to keep the area clean which wasn't a small task. They were polite, helpful, and courteous the whole time. To those who would complain about the noise level, the place is catered for kids, what do you expect? It's not that bad. I thought the food was great, not at all what I expected based on other reviews. The pizza was fresh, crispy, flavorful, better than any pizza buffet I've had before. The salad bar was well stocked and fresh as well with a good variety of toppings. It was clean and I saw someone checking it often. I also LOVED the fruit bar they have set up with a good variety of fresh fruit. I also liked the additional buffet items like the Mac & Cheese, Roast, and Desserts. My only complaint was the tea machines weren't working...three machines and all three were out, Bummer! The game area was incredible, huge (and very busy). Fairly easy to move around most of the time, mini bowling, mini basketball, dance games, the stack ticket games, and BUMPER CARS!! Not many "shooter" games, lots of driving games (little balance please). This was a place kids of a wide age gap as well as parents can have some fun and I really enjoyed it. I am just going to lay it all out on the table er . . . buffet. To get the REAL-DEAL Mr. Gatti's experience you must visit an old school Mr. Gatti's buffet. Those are the ones with HEAT LAMPS! They actually keep the pizza "roof of the mouth burning hot." The cheese continues to cook and gets nicely nasty after 10 minutes under those heat lamps. Gattitown (which I have visited twice) unfortunately puts their buffet pizza on a heated piece of granite straight out of the oven. If it sits there for 5 minutes it's practically cold. And inedible! uh . . . yeah. To reiterate simply: Heated granite means lukewarm sub-par buffet pizza. My son decided he wanted to have his birthday here. I get here and was told the wrong room by the woman in the front. I get to the party rooms and Roni is kissing her boyfriend and playing on the internet. That is not something I need to be watching while my kid has a birthday party. They did bring us one pepperoni and one cheese pizza. This place is a zoo trying to get pizza from the buffet. There were no rhyme or reason to any of the lines. I almost got ran over 3 or 4 unruly kids. This place was a total nightmare. I paid over $150 for this party. I would have hoped to have some sort of organization to it. Of course, it did not go off that way. The game room was packed. The games are not worth playing. Many of them cost .75 to play. If you have a $15 play card, it will go quick. The last time I went to Chuck E. Cheese (on S. 1st and Ben White), the few tickets I managed to win (and mostly didn't because a lot of their ticket dispensers seemed broken) barely earned me a pencil eraser. At Gatti Town, if you pick the right games, you'll win lots of tickets and very possibly wind up with a Pikachu doll or a pair of magic eyeglasses. 2) It's cleaner. There is nothing even resembling health here except a glass of tap water. This is the reason this country has an obesity problem: all you can eat crap food. Came here after a day of tubing and wanted to re-live childhood. Beware that they automatically charge you for a drink with the buffet, you have to actually request water so you won't get charged. I think this is a little sketchy, but maybe that's just me. The salad bar selection was fresh and there was a good variety of veggies and pasta salad/ potato salad, etc. The pizza was pretty good too. Pepperoni jalapeno was a fun combo and I love the supreme. This review is from a Wednesday at around 5:30 pm. The pizza was average, which is what I would expect from a buffet. The salad was ok. I liked that they had a lot of dark greens mixed in with the iceberg and a separate tray of baby spinach. My 4-year-old son loved the cheesy bread sticks, while my daughter, who was celebrating her 7th birthday, enjoyed the mac & cheese. If you have kids, do NOT sit in the "Southpark Meadows" section. The staff eats there and they cuss something fierce, no matter if there are children nearby. We were at a booth right next to the staff access to the kitchen while several workers were on break. I'm all for free speech, but if you work at a place that caters to families and children, try to avoid dropping the f-bomb in every sentence. I'm glad that you're at peace with the fact that you're a "m-f-ing fat" guy. More power to you. Just shut the eff up when kids are around. I thought about find a manager to complain, but after checking the reviews on Yelp, I'm pretty sure they don't care. The game room attendants are quick to help, but completely apathetic. Nary a smile to be seen. We had to get three refunds during our half hour there. Several machines were broken, but none were marked as such. And even after we were issued a refund the machines were still not marked as being out of order. At $.75 to $3.00 per machine, I'm sure they bank a fair amount of money off people (mostly kids) who don't ask or don't know to ask for refunds. On a positive note, the refunds were handled quickly and without complaint. If you have younger kids, Chuck E Cheese is DEFINITELY the way to go. We were going to go to Furrs, but they had closed, so after a Yelp search, we found this place. You can tell the food is all frozen, pre-packaged and reheated/cooked, but the staff was friendly, fun and amazing. We were sitting in a room that had a table of very tall young men with a couple of adults there. One of the kids had on a walking boot from an injury. So, to help him out, his buddies were getting his plates and there was a bottle of ranch on their table for him. One of the staff came up and stated the ranch had to be left at the salad bar area. I don't think he saw the boot. I went up and was going to explain this to the manager, but the employee that did this was just on his way out the door. I caught him, explained about the boot. I get the ranch has to be kept at a certain temp to satisy the health dept, so I asked if they had some to go cups or something they could pour ranch into . Birthday party for my nephew. This place is better than I expected. I was imagining a Chuk E Cheese type thing geared to the under 10 crowd, but was surprisingly pleased with the variety of things to keep all ages engaged for a hour or two. Pizza buffett is average but the Salad Bar I'd rate much higher. The variety and freshness of the fruits and vegetables far exceeded the norm for this type of establishment. Not cheap when you include games and such, but nice for an occasional treat with the kids. I do want to make mention of the staff and customer service. Very attentive, engaging and helpful without crossing over into overbearing. I'm a HUGE fan of Gatti's Pizza, and I love their salad bar. This latest establishment "Gatti Town" in Southpark Meadows is HORRIBLE. Upon entrance, the floors in every room were sticky, the tables were 50% covered in dirty plates and the table my family finally found - we had to wipe clean ourselves. We almost decided to leave and ask for a refund but decided to go check out the food. The salad bar was a WRECK, and there was a manager sweeping around it, and practically sweeping and blocking me from moving down the bar to get my selections in the salad bar. Customer Service please?? As I went on to the pizza bar and got a plate - all the plates were soaking wet, so i had to go and find some napkins and wipe them off until they were dry. The pizza was cold, and all there was - mostly pepperoni, cheese and breadsticks - no supreme, no sausage, no beef, no specialty pizzas at all. Both pasta selections were empty, and the vegetables were overcooked and looked like they had been sitting for hours. We waited a bit and finally got a couple of pieces of fresh pizza, and some stale dessert pizza. All in all - bad trip and will NEVER return to this location ...ever!! I would have complained there - but I saw in our visit the main manager and what they looked like, and their uniform status was about the same as the restaurant. Made perfect sense. OK, so I actually did go back for a school function and we did have a good time. Pizza, while not anything to write home about in terms of quality was hot and pumped out frequently with a decent variety and the salad bar was on par with your typical chain buffet joint; not fantastic but decent for the place. The back rooms and games and amusements were all pretty fun. I can see where the place can get pricey quickly, at least compared to a Chucky Cheese, but this place also has a lot more game options too. I still vehemently object to parents of birthday party attendees having to pay to attend, but we'll probably back as we had a good time. If I could give it 2.5 stars, I would. read more

I have been to GattiLand and it is much nicer than this GattiTown. I think they need to manage this one better. It's at a great location with a good crowd of people, but the workers here... are pretty bad. The cashiers are always pretty nice, but everyone else is very unhappy. The TV rooms are decent. There is a sports, family, and children TV room. This place is always dirty, messy, and they run out of things because they aren't proactive. They wait until something has run out in the food bar then cook it instead of looking to see what is low and starting to cook it then. The dessert pizzas are good, regular pizzas are just OK, spaghetti is the cheap kind, they have steamed veggies that are swimming in oil so that is no where near healthy, cake pieces are as if they bought it from HEB and served it there. I do like the salad bar whenever it is full. Usually there are multiple items empty. it can get messy there with ranch dressing and lettuce pieces everywhere. Lots of times there is food on the ground. They should be more on that. I like Gatti's, but wouldn't recommend this one. Surprisingly the one near UT is fantastic or at least the food is fantastic. Dirty for sure. We got there at open on a Sunday. Three pizzas were out.... And had been for a while. The salad bar was a non option for me because it looked like it was from the night before. Rotten. The mac n cheese was the only thing that seemed fresh. The "corn" , was grey in color. We waited for about an hour for fresh pizza. (Along with a growing crowd) finally we ate in the filthy dining room. It literally looks like food fights go on. Everything is sticky, the walls are dripping with God knows... We then played games. December 13th Daughters 6th Birthday: 1st & last time having a birthday party here and let me just say it was the worst experience ever!!!!! You pay places like this to have your parties to take some of the stress away of clean up, food, & entertainment. It was anything but that! I spent most of the party time running up to the front looking for a party host. You have to pay the remaining balance of your tab before they give you any game cards! I spent so much time going back and forth to the cash box to close a tab buy more cards etc. than I did attending to my guest who were at the party. If you want an expensive, stressful, super disorganized birthday party then GattiTown in SouthPark Meadows is your place to have it! No one will know anything, no one will be there to help you "host" & no one there acts like they actually care. Your better off going to Chuck E. Not at all staffed for large crowds. Ran out of plates & cups of all things! Napkin dispensers consistently empty also. Almost all the tables were dirty and took forever to be wiped clear. I can't say cleaned because they were still sticky as were the floors. Maybe if they served alcohol people wouldn't remember their bad experience.
