We come here on occasion for a bite to eat and then work our way around the games. D & B seems to keep them pretty updated so it doesn't get boring. It's not a five star restaurant by any means, but the gaming atomosphere and beat of the music is pretty cool. It's like walking from the outside world into another. It's a nice little escape. But this time I must mention that there's a waitress that is often working when we stop by with the most bubbly, upbeat personality and is always smiling and joking around with us. She really makes you feel welcome, like she's a part of the place. We finally got her name, it's Jasmine! And we always hope she's working when we come in. Thanks, Jasmine. We've had drinks at the bar, but since we're not big drinkers, I can't really comment on the quality. But overall, I give D & B five stars for the atmosphere and entertainment value. I have been going to Dave and Busters since 2006. Tonight was my 37 th birthday. I always celebrate my birthday every year here. At first it was an awesome experience. Than. Phill the new manager decided to cut the games completely off at 12:02 am. That head never happened. This is ridiculous. I had 4 more swipes already on the game. We were the only ones in there. He's a terrible manager. Horrible decision. Thanks for ruining my birthday. Picking a new arcade. FYI. I wanted to do 1 star. But, Diego the new bartender lwas too amazing and I can't leave that out. The food was so good and bomb. But. That manager never smiled and looked like he hated his life. It ruins the experience of the customer when the manager looks miserable. The kids, my niece, and I came here on a Sunday evening. There was a game on, so it was lively and a bit noisy, but we were seated quickly and placed our order without delay. Most of us ordered burgers, and my daughter chose the chicken Parmesan Alfredo. The food arrived hot, exactly as ordered, and everything was delicious. After dinner, we stayed to play games, which made for a really fun evening. By the time we finished eating, the crowd had cleared out since the game had ended, giving us plenty of space to move around and enjoy ourselves. Today we wanted to surprise our 6 year old for his last day of kindergarten with a surprise trip in jist to find out that they closed the store off for a private party. during the week that ALL of AISD gets out... three miles from 6 schools... and no warning on social media. We were invited to a birthday party here and my husband and I decided to order a platter of burgers and wings. The host that was hosting the party told us that there would be four sliders and wings with fries on the plate. When the food came out, there were only three sliders on the plate. We didn't mention anything because there were sliders ordered as one of the party foods for the party. We also told him that our food that we were ordering would be separate from the party tab. When he brought out the check, he mentioned that there would be an automatic 20% tip tacked onto the bill because it's a party. I informed him that the food was ordered separately from the party and that if I were to give him a 20% tip it would be because of the service and not because he is trying to force me to tip him what he thinks I should tip him. I thought that was unprofessional and it totally rubbed me wrong because had he not tried to force a specific tip on me, he would have gotten the 25% tip. Granted, the bill wasn't that much. One thing I absolutely hate is when I'm put in situations like this. Today, for me, it was the principle of everything. I tip what I want to tip and you don't tell me what you think I should tip. This is how people miss out on greater things by doing exactly what he did. This is our first time at Dave & Buster's and I am so glad we came. We had some issues with ordering summer pass but James Gallego made the situation right. Fun filled-spot with so much space but the only problem is that there were people waiting to us emultiple games that made the experience limited. For example, I tried to check on air-hockey table but it was always being played for 30 mins and still had people waiting to use. Same with VR games and jurrasic park shotting game but overall Dave & Busters is overall fun. read more

The first new Dave & Buster's in Austin in a couple decades is exciting! It's amazing to see the transformation of what used to be JoAnn Fabrics in the Southpark Meadows shopping center, and surprising how much they could fit into the building. I only have the north location near the Gateway shopping center to compare this to, and do miss the 1900s arcade style with stained glass and brass, but admittedly that was outdated while charming and this new location is very new and sleek. This location feels a little smaller too and I couldn't find any meeting rooms or pool tables I remember from the north, but all the important parts fit comfortably including a large bar near the front surrounded by three sections of table seating and then a huge arcade in the back half with an amazing selection of games. There is always plenty to play and enjoy, but this seemed to focus more on ticket games than the typical arcade. That helps with variety and new experiences, but I missed any sign of classic light gun games that were always my favorite to play with friends. There is one Jurassic Park game and one Halo game that are both sit-down experiences with a fixed gun, and one very dull target practice game, but I couldn't find any of the favorite zombie shooters or the like anywhere. However there are plenty of things I've never seen before like VR machines and other cutting edge things, so perhaps those make up for the lack of anything older. I tried a selection of their food too and enjoyed everything. Nothing is better than say Chili's quality, but it's all tasty and a good variety. I liked the novelty of the beef wellington bites, the spice of the pot stickers, chicken fried with Rice Krispies crust -- all of it was solid enjoyable bar food. And I loved the cookie station at my event that let you pour caramel, chocolate, whipped cream, and strawberries on top! Even the fresh fruit and vegetables was a treat. The one drawback besides the lack of shooting games for me was the absolute deafening volume. There was a DJ that may only be for certain events, but everything was so loud you had to shout to be heard by people at your own table. And with all the blinking lights and arcade noises too, everything was a bit of overload. But this may just be coming from somebody who has aged out of these things. Young people these days! Still, it was a great place to enjoy the evening, the food was tasty, the service was friendly, the one drink I limited myself to was fun, and there was lots to play. Whether it's a date, a family gathering, a work happy hour, or any casual occasion, Dave & Buster's fits the bill perfectly. I haven't been to Dave & Buster's since they used physical tickets. Yet, it was just as fun as I remembered. I would advise coming in on a Wednesday, as they offer half-off of games. Plus, they have a happy hour every weekday from 4-7 PM offering $5 drinks on select alcoholic beverages. Food wise, I was pleasantly impressed. Let's not get it twisted, Dave & Buster's is no gourmet restaurant, but it serves your typical 3-star bar food that is appetizing and won't give you food poisoning. read more

Despite the previous comments, I actually had a good trip at D&B. I came in on Saturday night about 30 mins from Closing. (I know, I'm horrible LOL) I asked the Bartender were they still accepting food orders, really wanted a drink and bit to eat that wasn't fast food late at night. He (Scotty) told me, the kitchen doesn't close till 1AM. Scotty welcomed me in and got me situated with my favorite drink. I decided to get a $10 card for a quick game while my food was being prepared. It was late night and people were leaving so it was not crowded at all and no kids present. LOL I came back to the bar and Timothy recommended YellowBird sauce for my Kickin Chicken Potstickers. Timothy is a genius, it was so delish, I went to HEB and got a bottle. Dave and busters are always expensive for how many games you get to play. Was pretty upset that this location does not have pool tables. The chicken nachos were very good though. The bartender didn't cut the top of the lime so the tip was floating around in the drink which was kind of off putting. My daughter, Ashley, had a ton of fun at the Easter Egg Hunt, and we are hoping that the Fathers Day Games returns again this year, we loved it last time. The manager, Chris, was soooo sweet and came and asked my name and got my card and closed me out. The customer service from this gentleman was above and beyond. We eat out a lot and we go out a lot and it's hard to find someone who takes pride in the way they look, talk, conduct business and overall just care about their customers. This location is horrible. First, walking in there was a group of employees standing at the front talking. They did not greet us. We stood there waiting and then the lady with the pink hair rudely said there's a 30 minute wait for a table (even though half the tables were empty). We sat at the bar and they gave my son the wrong food so we had to wait again. Before arriving, we added VR experiences to our game cards and discovered that this location does not even have VR. Then when leaving, then same group of 5 employees were just standing there and didn't say anything. Just stared at us with rude stares. It was very awkward. Just opened in South Park Meadows and hopefully closes soon, the worst service you could possibly get! I was Christmas shopping and saw there was a D&B in South Park Meadows and thought, "Cool, I'll stop in for a break from shopping" and wish I hadn't. I sat there 15 mins. with no recognition I was even in the place, was going to leave when another waiter asked me if I wanted him to go get my waitress, should have left but said "sure, I would for someone to wait on me". Finally she comes over, takes my beer order and I get my kid a burger, she brings the beer and few minutes later my kids food, I never saw her again!!! It's like I didn't exist in the place at all, I saw other wait staff running around serving their customers but my lady had disappeared completely, I was out of my first beer, my kid needed a refill on his drink and we just sat there FOREVER and finally she shows back up all apologetic about how "sorry, I was in the back doing all the other employees work".....etc. It's like, get outta here, you just suck at being a waitress, don't through your co-workers under the bus! Again, IT WAS NOT BUSY and I just don't see the need to go back somewhere that can't serve it's customers! The food was amazing, great to share, the strawberry lemonade hits so hard. The workers are so attentive and their service goes above and beyond what I expect of anyone. I like the soft lighting in the dining areas to calm down from all the excitement of the play areas. But yeah the best of all was the service, they kept checking in on us, and not just one of them, several people, but it didn't feel like bombarding, it felt easygoing and comforting knowing they care about doing a good job.
