I have driven by this place for years and have frequented the other restaurant that shares the parking lot. Since this is predominately a bar I have always just passed on trying it. Well that has changed and I am a fan of this place. I would say that it is a typical bar that has food. but the stuff they serve is pretty damn good. I have had a few different varieties of the burgers and they have always been pretty tasty with a good size portion of fries. Here is a hint.... Thursdays are $5 burgers... and if you go during happy hour you are getting a pint of beer for $2.50. So with a burger and 2 beers will only set you back $10 bucks that is all right in my book. I have read some of the bad reviews and I haven't had any of those experiences but I always try to strike up a conversation and make our waitstaff know I appreciate them. This seems to do me well at most restaurants. This has become wine and Colleen's favorite Thursday night outing. read more

I like Gator's. When I got prompted by Yelp to write this review (ok, ok, it was just a 'suggestion'') I had to stop and really think about why and well, why? Lol. I've been a handful of times with my husband and we have gone there because we were somewhere that was sucky or turned sucky and decided to bail. (The live music at the other place can be so bad that you can't take it, but I digress). NON SUBURBANITES: Hey, this is Tigard! (Sparta!!) so the choices for nightlife are absolutely pathetic - that's 'da troof'. So let's move past that. If you are coming from say, anywhere not in SW burbs, you need to be a realist about the limited selection we have out in the sticks. Just saying. Back to Gators - well it's got like picnic table seating, some high tops, and all kinds of weird layout to the place. But, the karaoke is good and bad (just the way I like) and a variety of people go here - younger, older, all races, ugly, pretty, drunk & sober. It's all good. Bar is madhouse sometimes but the staff is cool, nice and they have a good pour - if you know what I mean. I've been dressed up or dressed down and it doesn't matter. Too bad no dancing, though the karaoke singers who perform add something....IDK....weirdly entertaining to your evening. I kinda like the place. Especially late, late at night. Let your hair down, let your judgement go - if you go to a place called Gator's, think about that - GATORS - whaddya think it's gonna be like? Right? Enjoy it for what it is. Largish dive bar in Tigard. They have great breakfast---cheap ! and they open at 7a. Mixed crowd. They offer some drinks specials during football games and have numerous TVs. Also, a plus their outdoor patio is fun for watching traffic. Don't really eat too much of their regular menu, but it's typical bar far-okay to good. Sometimes service can seem scattered. I have been going here FOR YEARS. I've seen them transition from your typical "Dive Bar" to more of a "Gastro Pub," while still somehow managing to maintain that local "Cheers" feel. They've had some great staff over the years...Nick, Levi, Lindsay & Debbie (still there), but my favorite is by far Kelsey! We have made it a tradition to go literally EVERY SINGLE TUESDAY for Taco Tuesday (seriously....the BEST deal in town for Taco Tuesday) and Kelsey never disappoints! It's gotten to the point where we don't even have to order anymore...she knows each one of our orders (we're creatures of habit) and always makes sure we're taken care of. Short story at the top: It started with friendly service and went down hill from there; resulted in absolutely awful service; little to no Karaoke; bad attitudes from the staff; topped off by typical pub fare and beer selection. I only went to Gator's for my friends. I most likely would never have had any reason to step across their threshold except for the invitation from friends to meet them for some Saturday night Karaoke, Beer and Pub Grub. We got very mixed stories about why the Karaoke started more than an hour after it was advertised, And even more conflicting stories about why the KJ was busy serving rather than being the KJ. We had more than 20 people show up between 9pm and Midnight and after initially nice service we were left in the dust shaking our heads and trying to figure out why anyone would ever go there again. read more

I've had so much fun at Gator's for the past couple of months since I've discovered this place! A group of friends and I went to do karaoke at the Sports Page that is fairly close by. It was pretty crowded, so it was hard to get service and after we put in our songs, we were told that it was going to take about an hour till we would get our turn. We decided to go somewhere else, and a friend recommended Gators. The first time there, it wasn't very crowded. We were called up to sing as soon as we put our songs in. Every visit since then, the place has been packed. But the KJ Lisa has been awesome, and she will cycle in newcomers fairly quickly in the que. She has an amazing voice, and so does the bartender! In fact, almost everyone I've heard singing in Gators sound like they should have a recording contract! I'm almost intimidated to get up and sing after hearing some of the amazing voices! I really haven't tried any of the food, except for an occasional french fry that I snag off of a friend's plate. The drinks are ok, I had a couple of white russians for about $10.50, switched to an iced tea, and wasn't charged for the tea, which was nice, and tasted good. Wait staff have been friendly, the atmosphere is what you would expect of a sports bar. I have had fun every time I've been there, and can see myself frequenting this place for quite some time! read more

We stopped by Gators on a Saturday night to join some friends for Karaoke (which they advertise as having Wednesday through Saturday nights). There were about 15 of us, along with about 15 other patrons who had hung out after watching a ducks game. When we arrived we couldn't find the KJ - she was off running around. After about 10 minutes she came back to the booth, and instead of calling up a singer she proceeded to sing a song herself (personal pet peeve - why are you singing when you have customers waiting?). She then disappears again, and I notice she was bussing tables and serving drinks. After about 10 minutes she calls up four singers in a row (to her credit, she did let new arrivals sing before calling up "repeats" Then, you guessed it, more table bussing and drink serving (All the while there is another server just standing around - when we asked him why he didn't help bus so she could run the Karaoke he just laughed and said "I don't do that"). We were there about an hour and a grand total of four people got to sing (five if you count the KJ). On the food - we ordered the appetizer platter. And I want to personally thank the "chef" for dumping out a bunch of frozen Costco into his fryer then tossing them on a pizza platter. Even for a low-end establishment, it was pretty pathetic. All in all, some of the WORST customer service I've ever experience coupled with "food" that was a step above a high-school cafeteria leaves me wondering how this place ever stayed in business. My only guess is that my fellow Tigard residents have pretty low standards. read more

I passed the place several times on my way home to MAC from a weekly activity in PDX. Noticed the FIVE DOLLAR BURGERS every Tuesday. Stopped in because it was late and nothing else was open. All burgers on the menu except the double (Swamp Burger) are 5 bucks, even those that are usually priced at $8.50, and they will substitute anything. The patty is huge and the additions of things like avocado and bacon are generous. If you are a sensitive soul and not able to tolerate any but the best fries, you may well suffer frightfully here. Me, if I'm hungry on a Tuesday, no way I'm not stopping. For a BURGER, way better than any McMenamin's. read more

I've been a patron of this establishment on and off for years, and I've yet to had a bad experience. I've recently been enjoying their $3 breakfasts in the morning, burgers in the afternoons, and drinks in the evenings. The staff have always been fun and attentive, and drinks poured strong. It's a great place to go when it's nice and sunny, and if you can grab a spot next to the fireplace, when it's cold and wet. However as of late, I've really been enjoying is their Philly burger dip on their $5 burger day, which is Tuesday. I'm a big fan of any burger dip, which for those not in the know, is essentially a French dip, but instead of roast beef, there is a hamburger. I find the Au jus to be really good, much better than a lot of the brown water I've had in other establishments. The fries are fantastic, and you could even opt for steamed vegetables if you felt guilty about the sandwich. To be fair, this is definitely bar food. It's a bit greasy, a bit salty, and exceptionally delicious. I absolutely cannot get enough of this thing, and will probably be there every Tuesday I can make it. I currently work close to here, and my coworkers agree, we will all miss this place when we move offices. To me, it will be a hard time finding a place which has something for me every portion of the day. Well I have been here twice now, once for breakfast and once for happy hour the time we went for breakfast I would give it 4 stars. Good basic breakfast and awesome mimosas. The other night when we went for happy hour the heavy metal music was so loud it was ridiculous. The waitress was great! My glass never got empty. We sat outside at a double table (wire grate construction) and one of the tables had some kind of spooge clinging to it. I came here on a Tuesday when they have the 5 dollar burger promotion. The servings are pretty big and in terms of food to dollar ratio you do pretty well on Tuesdays. However the food is pretty meh. The burger was average and the fries were pretty bad. They tasted like reheated frozen fries. I don't think I would pay more than 5 bucks for a burger here. Overall the pub is a typical dive, nothing out of the ordinary. Its kind of out of the way for me so I doubt I'll be back anytime soon. read more

i wish i had the chance to review the food but unfortunately this place closes at random. i ordered through doordash and after waiting 90 minutes our order was "cancelled". when i contacted doordash they said the restaurant had closed without informing them. it took another hour for us to get a pizza delivered from somewhere else read more

I've only been in Gator's about 4 times, a couple times I've stopped in for a burger and beer, and another couple times we've wondered over when too drunk to drive, because I live just a couple blocks behind it. IMO, Gator's is weird. I get a really strange vibe when I go in there, its a strange mix of old and young people. Almost like a biker bar but not quite, I've felt like people are straight up mean-mugging me the whole time, maybe its because of my hot wife. Then there are always a few regulars posted up at the bar. Its almost like a bunch of posers. Maybe its just me but I feel like someone is going to get in a fight every time I go. I went there one night with my wife, my buddy and his wife and we sang karaoke, I did a rap song and people acted like it wasn't cool because it wasn't butt rock. Their food is just regular bar food, nothing special, decent burgers though. The beer is about the same, not a big selection but decent. I dont know, I am not trying to judge but when I was there the bartender was really old, nice lady but it was like ordering a beer from my grandma, and all of the people sitting at the bar seemed like regulars who just post up. Then there is another group of people playing pool, it just seemed like a bunch of little cliques in there. read more

I have been a regular customer for 6 years .... usually for breakfast..... through the past 2 years it has gone through many changes... mostly good... until now ,,, they offered a $5 breakfast with a few choices.... the big bird... now because of a min. wage increase in Oregon... they have reduced portions and cut out toast charging an extra $2. charge ... it should be called a Small Pigeon rather than Big bird..... Customers would understand a increase of price in the Big Bird,,,, rather than cutting portions..... luke warm food has been a issue .. also... good days and bad....... Their burgers and fries are very good, their staff is always very friendly and fast. Prices on drinks are great - food, not so much. Breakfast is meh. They have good deals Monday through Thursday. I've never been able to catch their happy hour and have no idea what it entails. read more

My husband and I have been to Gators a few times since moving from seattle. Its clean, the food portions are great and most of the service is excellent. I did have an encounter with the bartender on Wednesday afternoon she seemed very overwhelmed and complained a lot about how she had made no money that day and it seemed to affect the way she took our order. She treated us as if we weren't worth her time unless we tipped well. A lot of what seemed like "regulars" took up most of the bar and one man nicely turned around and apologized for her actions. I let that go and came in by myself the following Monday late afternoon. The same woman was there and treated me the exact same. After she was done with her shift she started drinking and she was so obnoxious I had to leave. Although this place is nice and the food is great, she just left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be coming back. read more

Gators is the type of establishment where fun memories are made. Yes, it's a typical dive bar, but what makes this place stand out is the people that work there. Among my favorites are: Nick, Lindsay and Kelsey and Kristi. Kelsey especially is amazing and we ask for her when we come in to be our server.  My group of friends and I come every Tuesday for Taco Tuesday. The tacos are the real street tacos, not the boring American ones. Kelsey has our taco orders memorized and knows us by name. Most of the time she has our drinks started as soon as we walk in. She is always super attentive and funny and keeps us coming back. Lindsay always makes sure any issues are resolved quickly and is another one of our favorites to order from. The whole staff is super dog friendly, even with my 100 lb mastiff that comes with me in the summer.  Gators has been remolding and changing the interior to become more of a family establishment but I hope they keep their amazing staff as is. It's really the employees that make the difference. read more

Bad food. No thanks! There are sooooo many other places close to this. No reason to waste money here. But i did come back.... I came in with a girlfriend on the weekend for brunch. There was karaoke blasting and it was pretty empty. We walked to the bar to get a drink and a menu. The waiter girl looked at my friends I'd and was immediately like "no, I can't accept this" her I'd was a little bent but obviously valid. The girl was kind of a bitch after that. Kind of a disappointing experience. Use to come here a couple of times a month years ago and always had a decent time. Thought it would be the same experience and now I just don't think I'll be coming back at all. Came here after a few drinks at Mixers and my friends and I did not have a good time here. The food is not fresh. It won't taste good unless you are drunk. Our waitress messed our drink order 2 times and just decided to go with it. They have live karaoke if you request for it.
